Seth, it matters not who stays, who goes, who the Chief Exec is, who the owners are, who the Manager is, at the end of the day IF you are a true Charlton fan you will renew. I believe you are so just get on and do it, NOW.

Agree with Large.
we may all not agree on everything or even anything but we are Charlton fans and that means backing the club the best we can.
One gloomy depressing rainy evening a few months back after the home loss to Doncaster I left The Valley certain I wouldn't be renewing....but when push came to shove the inevitable happened....well I guerss it's either in your blood or it 'aint.

I think quite a few of us felt the same that night....

I left that game wondering why it had all gone so wrong, but with a warm glow because Doncaster are proof that there is a road back no matter how dark it seems. Also their short passing game was something to behold

Agree to a certain extent, but everyone has their breaking point. To a few it is a relegation, to many others it would have to be something far greater than that. I'm not too sure what my own breaking point would be.
But we should never 'follow completely blindly', and simply just accept things if you believe them to be wrong.
In Seth's case, he has a clear bug bear that someone in the offices should not be earning the same or more next season, as most of the players on the pitch.
Its obviously something that is playing on his mind and he can't let go. Had he worded things differently from the start of his campaign, i think he would have received a lot more support than he originally did. But its something that matters personally to him, and none of us can rightly turn around and tell him he is 100% wrong, because it is his own belief.
I agree AFKA but I distinguish between "following blindly" and "backing the club the best you can".
As FTP said "we are the club not Parkinson or Waggott" (although personally I have no gripe with either)
We should be "critical friends" to the club IMHO.
If people can't afford to go or would rather not any more then that is their choice and that doesn't mean they are no longer fans. But while you feel able, back the Club the best way you can.
As the FF reported a couple of weeks ago....the club were in talks with some Chinese Investors/companies about sponsoring ZZ...so maybe something has come of this?
Sorry to piss on the parade----but im going to. If these players are being offered new deals there has to be a manager who wants them in his team, therefore its Parkinson. The softner to people being naffed off that possibly the worst manager ever at CAFC will still be here next year is if we can keep 3 of these 6----ZZ,Fortune,baily,Racon,Jon Jo,Gray.

I have NOT as yet, and will probably NOT...... Game by game for me I am afraid, by the way I never claimed that Matty had gone, just stated that I would miss him if he did go, although it is probably right to move on as a player.
IMO.... the young players are the key to the next two years, easy thing to say hard to put into practice as a manager, especially in this 'kick and run league' Charlton are in.
Still , hope to attend the meeting to see if I can be persuaded, or if Parkinson is sacked., but feel I am going to be dissapointed!

I think you might find the level of football being played in this div will surprise you.

I agree. Bristol City, Swansea and Doncaster showed that if you play good football you can get out of it too.

That's what I thought when I first read it (and my heart sank a little bit) but if you think about it, the players being offered contracts have to be offered them before the end of the month, and pretty much any manager coming in would want these guys as I don't think anyone could attract anything better than ZZ. Also Toddy, Weaver etc have to be let go of no matter what. The fact that Parky isn't mentioned at all is very encouraging.
But if that's the case why don't they just come out and say it ? I can't see any reason to withold that information and I can see many reasons for sharing it !
[cite]Posted By: northstandsteve[/cite]parky wont be here dont worry about that
easy to say but I do, all the time. I can't imagine that the current Board would keep him on and I can't believe a new owner would want to be assocaited with the worst manager in Charlton history, a manager despised by so many, would hardly be an auspicious start.

only reason I can see if that they can't afford it and they think leaving it to the new owner is easier. Now I don't agree with that. Fire him now, season ticket sales increase and that might even encourage the new prospective owner to complete the deal. If a deal is close maybe the new owner wants to come in, sack Parky, install another man and have us on board from the off. Maybe the new owner is a 'wall or Palarse fan and realises he'll need to win us over.

Oi....youre supposed to be on holiday.......you should be on the beach with your knotted hanky impressing the Yanks with how well you speak English for a foreigner!!!!

Maybe there isn't a new owner, no shining knight. Maybe we've just worked ourselves into a frenzy due to the lack of information. Maybe Parkinson cleared his desks along with Kinsella two weeks ago. Maybe he's talking with ZZ now about his new deal.
As TelenOz intimated earlier ( not worked how to quote from a previous page yet) if we are in serious talks with ZZ about a new contract it increases the possibility, in my opinion, that the new investment is coming from China.
