Or, more accurately, er no he fucking well hasn't. And I have personally seen him play three times since he left - he's pants. I once scored a goal after taking the ball down with my back to goal 40 yards out on my thigh, flicking it onto my right foot from my left, swivelling and spanking a volley into the top corner. Could I do it again? No. Does it mean I could command a place in the middle for Charlton? No. He's no better than what we have - and certainly no better than what we had at the time when we let him go. Some of you live in cloud cuckoo land.

Fair point, but he is playing regularly in the Championship, the league ABOVE the current Charlton midfielders
1 goal in 50 games. Hardly prolific. Glad he is not with us. I knew there would be some that saw the goal and then asked why we let him go. He also has some very strange friends (apparently / in my opinion)

Actually from what I have read and seen, Josh Wright has been doing very well in midfield for Scunny. He plays almost every week in a side that have held their own in the Championship and continue to defy the odds- only last week winning 4-0 at Bramall Lane. The argument about 1 goal in 50, he is a defensive midfielder like Semedo who has also has only scored 1 goal for his current club. I actually prefer Semedo as he is a class apart but Josh Wright is playing regularly in the league above and cannot be complete "pants". How many of our midfielders would get into a lower Championship side? Semedo yes, Racon maybe, McCormack no, Stav too young/inexperienced atm, Martin- had to drop down to L1.
He does have some friends who are undesirable however.
He's not bad but not great either. Whatever he goes on to do he's not one we've made a mistake letting go. He got to the age he needed regular football and we had Bailey, Semedo, Shelvey, Racon and Spring ahead of him.
Getting out of London was as much as a boost for Josh as getting out of Charlton. He holds his own in a team that holds its own in the Championship. Why are people so obsessed with goal stats. Not every player in the pitch is there to score goals.
Just came in for us at a time when we had too many players in one position. He's not premier league, but neither are we.
[cite]Posted By: Carter[/cite]Because he's been earning rave reviews ever since we let him go hasn't he
er yeah he has
Haha show me!

In case anyone is suggesting that this list is somehow not good enough 6 are in the Premiership less than one year on, one has been in the England squad, one is on the fringe and another has made his full international debut and there's (slightly mad) calls for Caroll to get a call up too. The Cardiff lad is playing regularly in a team at the top of the CCC. That leaves Smithies, who's been called up to the U21s. So, I'm kind of thinking that it's a bit better informed than some of the opinions on here
I met a scunny fan when I was abroad the other week and he said he'd take or leave him, he's seen him play a lot more than I have so I'll take that opinion over that of a journalist.

That's the thing. He's a decent player, but last year Bailey, Shelvey, Semedo and Racon were better.
He's probably developed since, but that'll be because a team needed a team had a place for him and he played regular games.
One of the better players to come through out academy in recent years in that he should make a decent career for himself.
Sometimes it's just down to opportunity, and when Wright was old enough we had several players in his position. Wagstaff for example only had Lloyd Sam (well, and Luke Holden) to compete with this time last year and he's had games and done quite well.
He may be jealous because although his profile may have dropped his brother , sister , mother and even his Nana Pat are now z list celebs from the Only Way is Essex .

Second midfield sub behind Racon. A lot better than Stav at the moment though.

He only got a contract with us because his dad is an agent and had him at nearly every club in London, and it showed!
Wrighty vs United

Very good point. It's enabled him to concentrate on his football instead of going to 195 and Faces with Jack Tweed and his gang.
