It was a very sad night to see Kins walking off with Les Reid after the W Wanderers 1/4 final disaster. Two men who knew how bad we were that night and as TRUE Charlton people wuld have been hurting as we were.

agreed
they were just not good enough to ensure that what happend that night didnt happen, i wont ever say a word against them but i will thank them for trying
In all honesty Kinsella's appointment was doomed from the start (sadly).
He came in under Les Reed only for Les to almost immediately be sacked. That ar**hole Pardew seemed to tolerate him under sufferance making it crystal clear that Parky was "his" man.
Once Pardew "raped" (his word not mine!) our great club Kins was left to try and help Parky in the hopeless task of clearing up Pardew's sh** and saving us.
I'm sad to see Kins go but Pardew has probably got what would have beenKins' salary (and more) for next season in his back pocket as his payoff.
Kinsella is probably in Ireland finishing off the final negotiations with the massive Irish consortium that is about to buy Charlton. They will then install him as Assistant to Curbishly I beleive.
John Hewie
Stuart Leary
Johnny Summers
Eddie Firmani
Don Welsh
And not forgetting Hans Jeppsen, who scored over 100 goals in just 13 games, including a hat-trick at Highbury, and single-handedly saved doomed Charlton from certain relegation.
But despite being a Charlton legend as a player, he will be still be considered part of the coaching staff that oversaw quite possibly one of the worst Charlton season's ever.

Give the guy credit for what he achieved over a number of seasons.
Without Kinsella's drive, there would have quite possibly be no Charlton Premiership seasons and Curbishley wouldn't be credited with the recognition he earned.
No question Oggy. Charlton Legend through and through on the pitch. But that shouldn't make him exempt from the awful season we've had.
After Parkinson, he is the most important man, the right hand man, and his specialist skill is to motivate and tell the players what it means to wear the shirt. Anyone who points the finger to Parkinson should look at the collective, which should include Kinsella.
It would be good to know whether Kinsella has definitely gone. Why would the club let him drift away wthout any expression of gratitude? Is there any reason to sit on such a statement until his contract officially expires on June 30?
For what it's worth, somebody at Kent CCC who has close Charlton links says that Parkinson is telling his closest friends that he would be ''pleasantly surprised'' if he is still at the club next season.
Can't find a sniff of this story anywhere. Is this really true? As true as the take over rumours that only ever persist on this site (which I like btw)?
Would not surprise me if he and the entire staff have just gone on summer holiday and forgotten to take their phones with them.
Both these items would surely be newsworthy enough to make it on to the web, media?
For what it's worth - and it's a curious turn of events - I think Kins is gone and Parky will start the season. I xon'f fhink fhey've hit the media yet because one is still under contract and the other has not agreed a new contract - combined with the fact that we're not really newswotthy enought for the papers to make stuff up about much anymore.
But Kinsella going? Surely that has to be newsworthy - a legend of the club. Lots of stories about Taxis, community work and a nice pitch for next season, a couple of younger players leaving etc. but nothing on this, makes it hard for me to believe that this is somehow unimportant enough for any journalist to pick up on.
If Parky is staying, why not come out with it, in preparation for target 4000...

He couldn't make a silk purse from a sow's ear and we shouldn't be surprised, or blame him for it.
