[cite]Posted By: That bloke from the Fans Forum[/cite]We will be playing in League One next season but if the club get the right breaks over the next few weeks, I believe positive news will breathe fresh confidence along Floyd Road and confirm a few more season ticket sales.
the problem with the fans forum bringing up parky's future is that they have to try and represent everyone's views, because it's such a crucial decision. I don't think they can do that accurately, because I'm not sure that opinion is clear cut enough. If they said to the club that the fans think parky should go, then i would feel mis-represented.
what i've said is more in theory than anything else - i'm not saying that this is actually what happened because i've only read the newshopper article. sorry if i've got this one wrong.
Rumours keep coming around, though, and I would urge everyone to take them all with a huge pinch of salt.

If this enables us to hold onto Bailey and Shelvey, we’re already on our way.
Clearly something is going on, but it doesn't mean anything will happen. So we don't really know any more than we did before!
" When we spoke about season tickets, we were, quite honestly, a bit peeved to have heard the club had decided season ticket strategy and had, in fact, published full details that very morning.
We were promised some input on the subject and were most disappointed not to have had at least a chance to throw our ideas across the table."
But you had months to contribute via the Target 40k committee on which one of the FF members, Gary Davenport, sits and whose proposals to the board where shared with you for your input. Why not make all these suggestions and comments then?
I know you were focused on the Statement of Intent but in the meantime the rest of the normal planning for the future was going on within the club regardless.
I don't know any of the details of Geoff Billingsly's article but I tend to agree with Henry. If the forum representatives were so concerned, they would have been banging on the club's door before now. The article seems a bit like the horse has already bolted.

I don't wan't to knock other peoples' efforts but I would question how representative the FF is of most Charlton fans. Most of my mates (and the people who sit around me) don't use this site, nor did they (or I) go to Pride Park this year. We're all in the Lower North and will be be renewing, irrespective of price. None of us were happy with last season but we know the club needs the money and we are lucky enough to be able to afford to renew.
I don't disagree with what the FF have said but I just think it's all too late.

It's difficult but I think that with their age range and where they sit they are a fair scope of different fans.
I do agree, as the thread "parky, sticking my neck out" showed that there is a lot of differing views and gradients of those views. But it would be impossible for the FF (or the old Supporters' director) to be totally representative. What they can do, and think they are trying to do, is open an avenue of communication with the club and that can only be a good thing.
The technology is there to enable fans to be able to vote on every decision the clubs makes. Shirt design, Prices. Player / Manager selection and substitutes. The board are deliberately depriving us of our say. Its a disgrace imho.

[cite]Posted By: McLovin[/cite]I think I remember concerns being aired on here and (I'd presume) directly to the club, at the time by forum members.
That was after the pricing had been announced.
The FF had sight of, and opportunity to comment on, the pricing months before it was approved.
OK, I think it's time to nail some of the misconceptions on this thread.
The Fans' Forum representative on the Target 40k committee (Gary Davenport) attended one meeting where season ticket prices were discussed. I think there probably was only one meeting (around Jan/Feb time). At that meeting, proposed season ticket prices were made available to those who attended and Gary (quite rightly) shared those with the rest of the Fans' Forum membership. We were told that the proposals were confidential.
Subsequent to that meeting, amongst other things, I intiated a thread here entitled something like 'What would it take for you to renew?' and I used this to gather some of the more creative ideas from Charlton Lifers. My personal favourite is the '£100 credit note' idea which would have helped the Club to get a lot of revenue up front, without expecting fans to commit to £400 or so at this difficult times.
The Fans' Forum then arranged to present these ideas to the Club and the item concerning season ticket renewal was specifically included by the Club in the agenda for our 2nd April meeting. We were expecting that to be our opportunity to bring ideas gathered from fans to the Club's attention, and I recall posting a comment to that effect on this board a few days prior to that meeting.
Imagine our surprise (and disappointment) to see the public announcement of finalised ticket prices, lack of incentives for early renewal and absence of 'creative' pricing/purchasing plans the day before our planned meeting.
To say that "The FF had sight of, and opportunity to comment on, the pricing months before it was approved" ignores all of the above ........... and also implies that it is the Fans' Forum's fault that we have ended up where we are. The Fans' Forum is there, not to convey its views to the Club, but to act as a conduit for YOUR views.
We did not have months to comment because we did not have consolidated fans' views to pass onto the Club - and, in turn, this was because pricing, incentives and 'creative' pricing/purchasing ideas were not being put to the fans by the Club to allow fans to comment.
My summary of this sorry episode is that the Club has missed a tremendous opportunity to encourage early season ticket renewal by having failed to consider the kind of ideas that fans have suggested. The Fans' Forum has expressed this dissatisfaction to the Club and it is acknowledged.
I find it unhelpful to suggest that there was ample opportunity for fans to have improved this situation and that the Fans' Forum failed on your behalf. We had our approach, we had our plan, but the timing apparently was never in our favour. If only we had known.
You had the proposals in front of you in JANUARY and didn't comment on them. Gary attended the target 40k meeting on 26th January and he had the papers before that date.
The proposals them went to the board for discussion and agreement and were announced in APRIL.
[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]total misrepresentation Dave and you know it.

Henry - I find that accusation insulting. Why would I be remotely interested in 'misrepresentation'? The above post is entirely accurate from my perspective and I have no idea why you might choose to disagree.
Any information shared with us via Gary was in confidence, not for public discussion. And we were given no deadline.
And please explain why the Club included the item on our 2nd April meeting agenda if the opportunity had apparently gone?
Bit difficult to comment in January when we didn't even know what division we would be in, I imagine.
I can only give an outsider's view, but my understanding from all the FF reports/ threads on here was that they clearly saw the April 2nd meeting as the time when they had been specifically asked to give views re S/Ts. I was therefore v surprised when the prices were published before that meeting, and agree with Dave that the club missed the opportunity to get input regarding some creative ideas to bring the vital cash in.

Ben.....we didnt actually get any confirmed pricing in January, just a summary of what was being proposed.....and what has subsequently been offered is different to what we saw. In the weeks before the meeting on the 2nd April, we had been discussing different proposals via email, all of which were copied into the club, and the agenda was indeed agreed a week or so before the meeting...season tickets were top of the list. We as a Forum got an apology from the club as they admitted that the timings were, lets say.... not that brilliant......
Ben your reaction is quite insulting.....lets all be a bit more grown up about this and start pulling together in the right direction for the benefit of the club and fans.....this isnt about who knows what and scoring browny points for having better contacts or information.

Sounds like a possible takeover to me.

Can't argue with that, makes total sense.

Are you a shareholder?
No, I think they are doing a good job but on this issue they called it wrong IMHO.
I can think something is good but still be critical of some part of it and vice verse because the real world isn't black and white.
