[cite]Posted By: T[/cite]Not written off but according to some he was the next messiah, the man that would solve our problems, a player that would score more than the useless forwards we have at the club, the goal scorer we needed, and clueless Parkdew couldn't see it...
that's just not what it was about. they weren't saying he would save us, just that he deserved an opportunity because MAYBE he could score some goals. we had a guy who had scored goals elsewhere and had loads of confidence, and we wouldn't give him the place of strikers with terrible goal tallies and zero confidence. I'm glad we gave him a bit of a try and i hope he's here next year.
is the yassin and dickson stuff going to be the new ambrose argument?
and your source, and substantiation, is whom, and what precisely?
It was said by an employee of the club who would be in an informed position and this was not a fellow team mate. It can't be further elaborated upon as it would be unfair.
I heard the same from someone in the club but the point is he didn't come here with a poor attitude. And most players would have a bad attitude after they'd been treated like he has. Good management should be able to sort it out but Yassin has hardly had that, has he?
OK then its the same source who's been mentioned on the mailing list. I'm with you on this, Nadou.
Well If he does go to PSG or somewhere of similar calibre, and features regularly, this source and the rest of the management/coaching staff had better take a good long look at themselves.
Yassin sat next to my mate (who sits next to me) at the back of the lower west on Saturday. My mate speaks fluent French so that had a good chat about what he's doing (he wasn't wearing Charlton training kit). He said he's still under contract (with 2 years to go) - but no one at the club speaks to him or tells him what's happening and he is surprised he hasn't even been given a squad number! He had a good trial at Portsmouth and even went on their pre-season to Portugal - but has heard nothing.... All seems a shame for such a promising player - apparently Parkinson just ignores him. I know not everyone rates him - but our aging back line could possibly do with his pace at times - using Youga and Moutouakil as wing backs could give us another dimension. But even if we didn't - doesn't sound like he's being treated too well....
Yeah i totally agree, if he wants to play let him! he is good player, also we could always test him out at left back Surely he cant do any worse then youga of late and can defend. The treatment of him has always been very poor aand if dont want him should release him at least, not worth ruining his whole career and letting him go in 2 years!

As has been said many times, I think he had a few chances with the club and blew them all - hence being frozen out.
He's hardly likely to tell your mate that the he was a total pain in the arse, caused the dressing room to split and was generally a bad egg to have around the place.
I do feel sorry for the lad, maybe better managers wouldn't have signed him/would have managed him better but we're where we are with him now and there is no way it's not been largely self inflicted - I simply cannot believe no one at the club talks to him simply because he's a quiet lad who doesn't like a beer or three, there must be more to it than that - El Karkouri was a devote Muslim and he got along just fine.
Tbh I don't think he's such a talent that he's worth risking having the new shoots of team spirit we saw on Saturday trampled all over again for, so I'd rather we just sold up asap so both parties can move on.
I love the way a number of people assume, simply because they've not see Parky saying on Twitter "putting my arm around Yassin" that nobody has attempted to stop him being an anus. I'll give our failing club the benefit of the doubt, although I agree that if he hadn't seen a procession of average to shit right backs coming in on loan, his attitude might not have been so bad. It's the story of a self-destructive paring. We could have used a fit and on-form Yassin and he might not have seriously trashed a promising career. Sadly, rights and wrongs of it aside: time for a split.

He was making the same mistakes Youga did on Saturday, before Youga had even made his debut for us. When Mills got suspended around Christmas in 07/08, Moots came back into the side and was heavily culpable in at least 4 goals against in about 6 or 7 games. Yes he's a very athletic and dynamic overlapping full back but he's positionally very suspect and crap in the air - very very vulberable when defending high crosses to the back post. He'd have made no better fist of their first goal than Youga on Saturday - I guarantee it.
I find you rcomment about releasing him highly naive - we're a broke club finacially and he's a sleable asset, there's no way he'll be released from a 2 year contract, not least because we'll have to pay up some /all of the contract to do it. Would you be saying the same if it was Youga who'd had been frozen out for poor off-field discipline?
Exiled - he's only a sizeable asset if we find someone prepared to pay us money for him. While he's at the club, and not playing he's a sizeable liability. I guess you have to weigh up what it costs to keep him and what we're likely to get for him. For me, particularly given he's not in any kind of a shop-window, I'd say we might be better negotiating a settlement to get him off the books as it seems likely he will not play for us again.
The incident that caused much of this crap was when he and parky had a barny pitch side after a game as Yass was getting frustrated by the fact we tried even tom soares at RB before bringing him on.
If i was Moots i'd have left already by mutual consent.
[cite]Posted By: razil[/cite]I just can't agree he made that many mistakes, he seemed to get mainly heavily penalized for that penalty he gave away..
Agree with this One penalty does not mean he was a mistake prone player... If we'd played as a team over the last two seasons we'd be much beter off i.e rm coming to help rb and rb overlapping rm etc...
Yassin just isnt a right back and would be a luxury as a right wing back. From what I have seen of him his positional sense is awful.
Dont know what incidents have occured, dont really care, but trust the club are taking the right course of action, he will have been given chances, the club wouldnt treat him like this without reason.

We don't know the club haven't offered him a settlement, but Moots may be asking for more money than we can/will pay him as a settlement. As Christiensen has shown - professional pride is not always at the forefront of players minds these days.
In an ideal world I'd keep him and use him, I think he has talent and potential but there is clearly more than just footballing matters being taken into consideration by Parky and co and we don't really know exactly what those other matters are. If it's seen that the cons outway the pros with him, then we'll just have to believe those on the inside know better than us on this one - it would certainly seem to need to be something fairly major for him to be completely out in the cold (Mcleod is rumoured to be a bit of a headache for the manager but he's still in his plans).
I do find the way Moots has been made a figure head for all the Parky bashers quite bizarre, because whilst he has some talent there are major flaws in his game too so it's not like we're freezing out Daniel Alves or anything.
a full back being criticized for being bad in the air.. lol. He was no worse than Youga, who got much more of a run despite being worse in my view. Or indeed many of our other players, and indeed got dropped after Reading when he was many peoples man of the match.

Scunthorpe away...
Also poorly positioned and easliy out jumped at the far post away at Leicester, crap positioning allowing a cross into the area against West Brom at home in the cup (not the last chance to stop the goal, but still a mistake which helped lead to one) and there was another game around the same time where he was out jumped at the far post although I forget who against.

How many does Burton have?
The thread is about Yassin - I hope he stays and enforces that RB position after some intense training.

lol, Terry, great to meet you and your lovely missus.
Seeing the Preston match gave me an unhealthy dose of reality
;o)

Also not worth paying him to sit in the stands for 2 years either! But it's clear the club will let him go hence why he on trial at Pompey.

Parky maybe ignoring him in the hope that he sorts himself out and gets into the side himself...
New season...New Start give the lad a chance and he'll shine!
