I'm pretty certain that Moo2 will go on to do much better things. The situation at Charlton is probably beyond repair and it's now in everyone's best interests that he leaves. I'm pretty upset about it though and I hope that Yassin can get a fresh and happy start elsewhere. If we haven't got the resources to cope with foreign players, to recognise their needs and help them settle in, then we should not sign them. Pardew would almost certainly been lacking in the cultural department and I wish that someone on the board had questioned the signing. It has been a less than glorious moment for Charlton and I hope that lessons have been learnt.
As long as parky remains it looks like he has no future at Charlton, a shame because he can play.
Also he's still under contract and a sellable asset, so I'd expect him to be moved on in the summer, back home for him I think and the best of luck to him.
Looks like it won't be here so I hope he finds the right club playing the right way that suits him and plays regularly. He's a young attacking full back with pace, defending consistently well is usually a weakness of players like him. The better ones with good attitudes will improve with experience.
It's not quite the same but I remember Luke Young making mistakes and not being the most consistent player, but within a few seasons of regular games, good management he improved as a player and become one of our most consistent players (and was for Boro and is for Villa now).
I agree with Large and I'm usually on here defending Parky. Given the lack of opportunities and parky playing people out of position and bringing in loan players rather than play Moo2 it's no wonder that he got frustrated. When a new manager comes in he should give everyone a fresh chance to prove themselves and i don't think Moo2 got that.
When he reacted as he did at Bristol City (that was the game, right?) he sealed his own fate because he gave parkinson justification to leave him out completely and criticise his attitude. I expect he regrets it. His reaction was wrong, but it seems to me he was driven to that point by not being treated fairly.
To be honest I find it hard to believe that we havn`t heard from either Yassin or his agent about his treatment at The Valley if for no other reason than to engineer a move which must surely be what he would prefer. Doesn`t seem a bad attitude to me.
I had a chat about Moo2 with the club recently. Its a mixture of him being a loner and a cultural thing from what I was told. However, my own opinion is that somebody needed to take him under their wing and nuture him, If his defending was questionable (and I dont think he has been any worse than anybody who has played RB) then why not give him a run out on the wing...he has pace and he could be taught how to put a cross in if he is indeed that bad.
This squad is indeed the first one in my lifetime when you could almost put a question mark against 90% of them in terms of them giving two hoots about the club, a desire to do better and that comes from within Im afraid. We will see a mass clear out in the coming months, thats for sure, but more importantly now....who is going to be responsible for putting a new "Team" together? There is a bigger picture, that Im sure of, but we cant just stand back and wait and see.....because that attitude has got us where we are today.
Its high time we got some balls....and no I dont mean footballs (we havent a clue what to do with those)
:-)
'Charlton fought off competition from Spanish giants Barcelona, Lazio of Italian Serie A, France Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille and Scottish Premier League champions Celtic as well as Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Everton for the signature of Yassin Moutaouakil.
Captain of the France U21 team, the right-back was snapped up by then-manager Alan Pardew for 600,000 Euros, signing a four-year contract.'
the above from his bio on the OS. All those Clubs can't be wrong can they ?

agree totally Tel. We need a new manager in now to assess the likes of Moots etc before the numpty currently in charge completely ballses it up.
Don't understand how anyone can pick on Yassin specifically as being unable to defend. He's hardly played this season - look at the goals against column in the league table, none of our defenders can defend! Management have tried to make him a scapegoat for their obvious failings in being able to organise perfectly competent players into a unit capable of preventing the opposition from scoring.
I do not believe any of the talk of poor attitude either. From his very first appearance at Welling last season he has consistently displayed a genuine affection for the club and it's supporters. I remember a thread which appeared on here around Christmas regarding a Lifer who bumped into Yassin outside the ground shortly after Parkinson was appointed. He said that Parkinson didn't rate him and that he had no future at the club - he was distraught about this, not the behaviour of someone who doesn't care about Charlton. As others have said, if he has developed a poor attitude then he's perfectly entitled to after consistently being overlooked in favour of a string of woeful loanees who contributed far more to our current position in the table. Fully expect to see him being successful in the future, either in the Premier League or abroad. Meanwhile, we'll still be stumbling around the lower divisions watching talentless hasbeens like Buttercup and Burton.
[cite]Posted By: kinveachyaddick[/cite]When you say Moo2 can't defend - what exactly do you mean?
Makes mistakes? errors of judgement? can't tackle? poor header of the ball?
He clearly doesn't lack pace so can't say that.
In which case can you explain to me how Youga and Hudson get picked week-in, week out?
well youga was actually pretty good saturday!
lol

I think the kind of players that would have been great to have put him under their wing would have been Thatcher and Powell (wrong side i know but still!)
Also baffling imho is the fact that even though Moo2 does not seem to be rated by Parky why on earth has he not been loaned out ? Youga came back better until we ruined him again and it must be better for us if Moots is getting games.
Moo2's charlton career should serve as a perfect example of what has gone wrong with the whole squad under pardew/Parkinson.
He joins the club as a good prospect. He plays then gets dropped for little reason other than the odd injury. His appearances from then on are based on no solid foundation – a good game does not mean he keeps his place, a bad game is not explained. If his is injured the fans don’t know because his absence from the team seems to be based on so many factors.
Over the course of time the erratic selection policy has an impact on not only his confidence and “attitude” but most importantly his development and experience of the division.
We have not had an embarrassment of riches in any position but still the management have rotated, dropped and cold shouldered players for no reason.
Only a fool will think that treating any players like this will be anything other than counter productive. The reason we are going down is that there is not a player, or position that has not been treated in this manner.
The most stark example of this must be the decision to drop players from the team that went to Norwich and recorded our first win in months and replace them with loanees.
We went down that weekend. We told our players that we would not reward success, just like we told them we would reward failure when we appoint Parkinson full time.
The best young full back you've never heard of.Another black mark for the Pardew scouting system.
Not really. He is what we expected, exciting, quick, good going forward, got to learn and improve defensively.
We wouldn't have heard of him, but plenty of clubs and managers would have.
He's never had a proper run of games.
I'd imagine if he was a left back, and Youga was a right back, we'd have seen Youga replaced and Yassin playing more often. Parkinson (and Pardew) both found it much easier to find available right backs for loan than left backs. Probably sensible, but Parkinson won't play Youga and Yassin in the same back four.
As for the Norwich thing, it was ridiculous. As larryred just said, the players that won that game should have been rewarded with at least another game.
all our players are at their best when they aren't playing.....we all want the ones who aren't playing and as soon as they enter and play they are chuff.... for example chris dickson
The fact PSG are supposedly after him coupled with the fact he came from Barcelona must suggest he has the ability to play in the Championship, surely?

He has, but ideally for a team playing good football and near the top of the league, not one in a relegation battle that can't score and therefore a lot of pressure on the defence.
Well there wasn't much else to go on, as he wasn't getting a game with the first team. I still think he'll do ok. would have liked to have seen him do better, but one bad game and he's on the sidelines again.
A decent quality striker normally reckons to score an average of 1 goal for every 3 clear chances he gets.
How many clear chances has Dicko spurned so far?
Bottom line: Dicko is no Ronaldo, so the team has to create a quantity of chances first.
But very few chances created generally equals very few goals scored.
As we have seen with all our forwards, not just Dicko.
All this Chris Dickson stuff does make me laugh-he's still only played a few games for us yet he's been completely written off by some? The fact is he scored loads of goals for Gillingham at the level we're heading to and imo Parky needs to swallow his pride and play him consistently next season. The way that he and Yassin have been treated this season suggests that this probably won't happen.
The more I think about it, the more I'm dreading next season if he's still in charge.
Not written off but according to some he was the next messiah, the man that would solve our problems, a player that would score more than the useless forwards we have at the club, the goal scorer we needed, and clueless Parkdew couldn't see it... What we've seen is that he's no better or worse than other players that have played in the role, and subject to the same malaise that runs through the club.
[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]The point I tried to make above ........ Dicko isn't getting many clear chances to score, as the team generally are not creating these chances.
Dicko has come a long way in 2 years - and if the team are instructed to supply Dicko in the way he needs, he'll come up with goals.
Should have played with Kandol again after the way they linked up against Plymouth.

that applies to much, much more than Moo2

Maybe there's some truth in it, but difference is we've all seen some very good performances from Yassin.
The hype around Dickson was all based around reserve matches and his time at Gillingham.
