Seeing that I never added my selection first time round in rough chronological order. Thinking about there are albums which I possibly like more than these, but there are a track or two which I skip.

Glad someone has picked a Squeeze album and ESS and agree this is my favourite of theirs.

I would like to pick a couple of XTC’s albums.

    Oranges & Lemons
    Nonsuch

I love XTC and those two albums, but there are a couple of tracks which I skip on them, hence I left them out!

I was also tempted to include Squeeze's Play, which is sombre but very solid.

    "Give 'em enough rope".

    Better than the 1st album?

Not listened to it for decades but thought it was a bit patchy at the time.
First album the best but second one still got some great songs.

Born Sandy Devotional - The Triffids
    Starfish - The Church
    Closer - Joy Division
    Wilder -Teardrop Explodes
Candy Apple Grey - Husker Du
What's Going On - Marvin Gaye
There's a Riot Going on - Sly Stone

Requirement for consistently good no filler means Jackie Leven, Orange Juice,  Pet Sounds, Kate Bush, Johnny Cash (and loads of others) miss out. I'd have Ethiopiques vol 4 Mulatu Astatke but I think it's a compilation. And Samantha Crain's exquisite I Guess We Live Here now is a mini album.

This reminds me of a comment from Loudon  Wainwright III during his live show: "my number one fan told me I'm his third favourite artist"
