3 out of the best defence in the Championship last season playing for us, a good signing IMO. Will know the other 2 so will fit in well and add to the dressing room I hope. Shame to see Murty go but I think this is a good replacement.
As for Yassin, don't make me laugh... I have been one of his biggest fans and advocates and thought he would make a great right winger but as well as being a good player you have to have the right attitude which he very clearly does not, in our positon we do not need characters like that and because of his attitude rather than his ability I do not beleive he will ever play for us again.
sorry but most of the players we have signed since curbs left have been dross, hence our fall from grace to the armpit of the championship and without a miracle league one.....
sorry my head is not up in the clouds pronouncing all things are great and we're still 5th and pardew/parkinson is a great manager but hey ho no one likes the truth
Butts was at his peak when we had Routledge and Gray in the side.
Since then injury and competition have kept him out of the side, for a while Taylor played Hudson at right back to accomodate darren ward and Leon cort at centre back.
At his best he was an above average championship R/B and now he is a below average R/B.
Given that he knows Ward and Hudson's game, I think its a pretty good signing for you.
As for Palace being in financial meltdown, i think that's the case for 90% of the clubs in this division. And as half the premier league clubs are also up for sale with no sign of buyers,I'd expect to see quite a lot of FC's experiencing some serious purging soon.
Henry - instead of your obsessive, and somewhat delusional, knowledge of Palace's current situation, why don't you spill the beans on where it all went wrong for Charlton?
You were 'in the know', you must be privy to some information, so let it all out. Unless of course, the Palace obsession and the hopeful rants about our imminent demise are a smokescreen for your own guilt regarding Charlton's current situation.
Could you have asked those awkward questions when the opportunity was there? Would that have done anything to avert the crisis you find yourselves in? Could you have raised any thoughts you may have had about a 'succession plan' for when Curbishley was gone'? What did you think about the appointment of Dowie? Or, come to that, Pardew?
Who knows. Only you and your deepest thoughts know that. Does it hurt Henry? Does it? I suspect it does given the vitiriol and scattergun approach you have taken in your pursuit of an easy target in front of 'friends'.
I think our 'Enry's descriptions of what's going on at Palace are very informative and accurate.
As far as what's going on at Charlton, we're not silly enough to publish such issues on an open forum. That's been discussed at length, along with recriminations and what we need to do in the moderators forum.
So basically what you are saying is that it's all gone horribly wrong at Charlton, and a priviledged few know what has happened and we'll keep shut about it (for non-defined reasons) and slag off our 'rivals' to detract attention away from that?
Slag off our rivals? You are not our rivals though, we don't even care about you, bigger fish to fry mate. Go find yourself a real rivalry and stop sniffing around here pal.

Yawn. Oh and to your mate: How has someone who has played 90 odd games in three seasons not in the side?

It's "all gone horribly wrong" for at a lot of teams Matt. Difference is we're doing something about it....Coming up with new ways of ensuring the fan base still see value and new ways of attracting people (no matter what level we're at next season.)
What is SJ doing? From here it seems very much like nothing to me. Is he even still in charge at SP or is it your creditors running the show? Your home attendances are sliding toward below 10k home fans per game, you're still paying out huge rent on SP and high levels of APR on the loans that are keeping you afloat. Meanwhile SJ is hiding behind his Marbella sofa, refusing to answer the door to the bailiffs. This has lead to these CCJs that eventually could lead to winding up orders. (BTW I hope for your fans it doesn't. Although admin and a points deduction could do us a favour....Agent SJ perhaps? )
People in glass palaces really shouldn't throw stones you know.
“I had started training yesterday morning with Palace and I wasn’t aware of anything,” Butterfield told the South London Press.
“It’s all happened very quickly but I’m really excited by the prospect of regular first-team football. The rivalry between the two clubs never entered my head.
“I’ve played against Charlton twice this season and, particularly in the game at The Valley, they showed what a good side they are.
“I already know a few of the players so that will make things easier for me. Phil Parkinson made it clear that he wanted me and that was a big attraction.”
[cite]Posted By: SelhurstStalker[/cite]You already have agent Hudson and Soares and now you have agent Butterfield.. Another loss tonight, our agents are doing a great job on your team! Wont be long now until your relegated to League One and struggling at the bottom to stay up and not get sent down to League Two Just face it lads, its going to be a long ride and a ride that is one direction.. Down.. Down.. Down. Enjoy the fall!
[cite]Posted By: SelhurstStalker[/cite]Exactly! I'm glad there's a Charlton fan that is starting to understand that!! We don't care about you! Our rivals have always been Millwall and Brighton and that will never change. Charlton have no passion at all. Palace fans find you annoying as you continue to try make us your rivals and make us hate you.. I'm just glad your going down and will be out of the way!
