He has signed on loan, strange they let a first team regular join us. But he is one of their players I have always been pleased to see play against us.
I reckon we should stick by him as he gives us greater attacking options and any one at Swansa wil testify Murty made right cock-up for their goal so don't hang him for his defensive mistakes (which tbh aren't that many)
I like Moo2, most of us like him. Parky doesn't. Thats it. If Murty is injured and he doesn't rate Moo2 then going for a loan player is the natural thing to do.
To be honest I can be won over but above all the other ins of late this leaves me cold, he looks like he is brain dead fucking useless (but that could be his shirt affecting my judgement)
Don't know much about Butterfield, seem popular enough at Palace but we need someone more committed to Charlton than Moo2 who doesn't want to know and has made plenty of defensive mistakes. Is that Butterfield? Don't know. At least he will know Hudson, Ward and Soares.
So why are Palace letting him go out on loan. Must be desperate to get his wages of their ever increasing debt burden but still.
Personally i think this is a good signing for a position that we are very weak in. Well done Parky for acting quickly before a crucial game tomorrow night.
Do have to wonder what is going on over at SELLout as they seem to be in one hell of a sudden decline, like the ones we used to go through. Although theirs started earlier and could lead to an even worse situation next year when Warnock has retired and with Jordan desperate to join him.

It's not odd. Butts, whilst being a bit of a folk hero, is old, slow, injury prone and a bit of liability these days. He has been replaced at rightback by Nat Clyne and has no chance of getting his place back.
Whilst you may have a little fantasy that this is the 'beginning of the end' for us, it is not.
I am very surprised that a Championship side have taken him on loan.
Five-foot-11 Butterfield went on make a total of 145 appearances for the Mariners before switching to Palace, where he played alongside current Charlton centre-halves Mark Hudson and Darren Ward as well as Tom Soares.
Expect a former Palace left back to sign on loan soon.
35 according to that, would be 36 with Butterfield. That might be slightly out of date/not including players that have only played in cup games (Wagstaff and Yussuff, any others? Randolph?).

He apprently he is a Palace ledge, he is not pleased.
Who was the left back ?
I know beggars can't be choosers and all that

No need to.
Next season Palace kit is an off the peg Nike number - same as at least three junior teams I know wear.
If any of the back four don't clap then shoot them : - )
Got to agree
not teh best but not that bad forget were he come from we could have got a lot worse

Palace legend, hard working, only 29 .....played 30 games for Palace 1st team this season.
So why is he suddenly available even?
My take .....this is a loan signing with a view to a permanent transfer.
Obviously comes highly recommended by Hudson, Ward and Soares.

At least they've played with each other before.
