  • [cite]Posted By: ShootersHillGuru[/cite]Do you think we could sign him ? How much would Leeds want ?

Not a lot I suspect given that he is surplus to requirements at a struggling League 1 Club and he only cost them £200,000. I would think that they would be happy to recoup their outlay.
  • Dickson done well, but Racon was the MoM.

    By some distance as well.
  • Well I know its early days yet but I like the look of him. Good first touch and compliments Dickson well. Would score goals next season I rekon.
  • I have a friend who is a big Leeds fan and he says that Kandol blows "hot and cold". One match he looks terrific but the next he goes missing. Time will tell but you have to ask yourself why, given Leeds' position, they've been so happy to let him go out on loan to both us and Millwall, especially with Beckford injured for a lot of the season.

Time will tell and I hope Kandol proves Leeds wrong.
  • For the first time in a very long while our team looked balanced and dangerous.

Racon got MoM, Dicko very close to getting it according to Clive R (Solar Addick).

Just win at home and pick up some points on the road. We can still do this especially IF Saints go into admin on Monday.
  • Reminds me of Carlton Cole a bit. Lots of ability but maybe suspect temprement hence the inconsistency ?

Oh dear I thought he was good.....:o)

Effect on the pitch is what counts - when he went off to be replaced by Burton, we did not seem like scoring at all - for me it all went a bit flat - it is the spark of unpredictability and verve that Dickson provides that pulls defenders and makes space for others to run into.

That is his strength - although he could be frustrating like his ball juggling in the penalty area - Lovely to watch but I was screaming - pass it along the goalmouth for someone to slide it into the net..............
  • One can argue about all round contribution, blah, blah, blah but today Dicko had me on the edge of my seat at times and I can't remember when that last happened...
  • Chris Dickson was terrific today. On the ball he was brilliant but he did as much off the ball. He caused the Plymouth defence a horrendous problem, his running and pace, his sheer exuberance and lack of fear was brilliant to watch.

  • I think what was particularly good was the partnership with Kandol. I hope I feel this enthused in 7 days time.
  • Hate to say I told you so!

Where are those people who said they didn't rate him at this level after three 10 minute cameos?
  • Don't want to name a man of the match because it was such a team effort. Everyone showed excellent commitment to the cause and there were terrific performances from Dickson, Hudson, Elliott, Kandol, Racon. All the others were good too, including all the loan players and how about the guts from Bailey to take his goal so well after the disappointment of having his penalty saved? A few months ago he would have faded after such a big setback, but it was the opposite today and he was even stronger after the pen miss. It may well not be enough and we'll probably still go down but at least today we saw a proper game of footy with action in BOTH penalty areas. Next season I'd be happy to watch Sam for Soares (we won't be able to keep him) and a new right back (we won't be able to keep Murty either) and all of those others that played today. There's the makings of a team there.
  • Dicko was lively and dangerous in the 1st half then in the 2nd he was fantastic, he showed 2 or 3 moments of fine fine skill he reminded me of di canio at times, I am now preparing to be slaughtered but some of his flicks were great. If he becomes half the player paolo was we are in for some fun
  • If only Sam would be a bit more direct, he takes too many touches in my opinion. Other than that he is a terrific attacking winger and a Charlton man, he has our success in his heart.
  • Good team effort today, wasnt really dissapointed with anyone. Memorable mentions though to Rob Elliott who made a couple of good saves and seemed fired up for it. Racon was excellent, Ward caught the eye, but have to say that Dicksons sheer unpredictability was what shone out like a rough diamond. Wsnt it nice to get a win and leave the ground smiling
  • some of his flicks were great
My memories of tonight's game were Dicko's creativity in and around the box, hi flicks caught all the Plymouth defence off guard.

My other memory was Nicky Bailey redeeming himself!
  • Yeah good shout, bailey has cojounas, he missed the pen, got in position for the volley which was a difficult chance, still kept bombing forward and took his goal brilliantly. Don't forget he was playing out of position too
  • Racon was MOM for me,

The rest of the Team played football for each other with fight which has been missing - I thought Murty was strong as well the team was balanced, Dickson and Kandol combined well.
  • dickooooooo dickoooooooooooo dickoooooooooooooo

thierry racon thierry racon thierry racon thierry racon.

i have my own reasons why i like Dicko so much but Chris i know you look in mate you had a blinder only pipped to MOM by Racons goal your skills were silky to say the least and that run for 70 yds no one else would have even tried it

    big respect my man

  • Jury is still out for me on Dicko.

Certainly has the attributes to be a serious player at this level, clearly has supreme confidence but can see it being a battle within himself not turning it into arrogance and cockiness.

Some of the crowd may have loved the bits of showboating, but i didn't. You do things like that when you are long into your career and established, not when you are just starting out and have nothing already in the bank.

He is not a fresh faced 17-year old but he has to approach things the same way. He has a long career ahead of him if he keeps his head on the ground and goes about things the right way, particularly remembering it is a team game and that those that reach the top are those that work the hardest, every day. I still feel there is a danger he could equally go the other way.

One thing is for sure, we all want him to be a success, and will be rooting him on with all we've got.

    I hope he repays us.
  • smudge all he wanted is a chance to repay the day that people were calling for his name without even seeing him play, and i believe him, he can do it at this level i have no doubt about that.

i think the skills came at the right time and certainly got me out of my seat

i hope the arrogance and cockiness turn him into our Jason Scotland or Sylvan E banks Blake he certainly terrorised the plymouth team today and he can only get better
  • Hope you right.

As i said, i think he can be as good as he wants to be, IF he goes about it the right way.
  • your right there mate but even though i think he is blinding what Parky said about him doing things the right way and adding things to his play i am hoping it is a sign of his change of tact into profesional football
  • He was great today

It'll be difficult for Dicko to run with his head on the ground ......

    ;o)
  • The commentators were saying that some of his skills were Brazilian like.
I just find it so frustrating that Pardky wasted so much time before finally giving him a chance.
In fact I think it's probably fair to say that had it not been for the campaign of the fans, particularly those on this forum, Chris Dickson may well have left the club without ever being given a chance. Something is very wrong there and the board should really be asking questions of the management team.
The same thing happened last season as well with Pardew and Racon.

Sorry but I think that is nonsense. The "campaign" would have had nothing to do with in IMHO.

I think it is 6 of one, half a dozen of another. Dickson needed to improve his all round game and he has. Parky needed to give him a chance and he did. I think Dickson should have had more run outs, even if as a sub, earlier but maybe the lesson of "put the work in on the training ground, do what the coaches want and you will get a chance" will sink in with a few others in the way it has with Dickson.

He has ability and now he has the chance to apply it. Hope he keeps listening and gets the goals.

I take a different view. Dickson has got better because he has been managed well by Parky and Kins. They have given him the opportunity at the same time as developing his raw talent. Yes he came close to leaving but I think that was also skillfully handled by the Board and the Management team. He does have the potential to become a real Charlton hero but after a performance like yesterday fans expectations will rise and expect that week in week out. That will be a new challenge and I hope he can deliver.
  • Whatever it is - wasn't it great to see a Charlton forward who would run 70 yards with the ball, genuinely looking like he wanted to score and applauded off the pitch when substituted.

Darren Bent is the last forward we did that to and that's TOO LONG AGO.
