I suspect that Dickson has burnt his boats at Charlton somewhat, I'd tell him he's starting on Saturday and that he'll get a run. We need goals and playing one goal shy striker (whether Gray or Burton) is not the answer. Tell him he can go and make a few mistakes, but if he scores/sets up a goal then he'll have done his job.

We do, but unlike Dickson last season, he hasn't proved that he can cut it in League 1 let alone the Championship - 2 goals from 13 starts plus 7 sub appearances for Cheltenham and Brighton this season. Hasn't scored for Brighton or in his last 16 appearances either.
I think they're right not to play a cocky so and so like that. I mean, you wouldn't stand for that Ronaldo fellow would you? He's about as cocky as they come.

Bouazza is the only player with pace (and he's not lightening) that we've had upfront this season apart from one start by Izzy and a few cameo's from Dicko. If I was a coach and all my other striking options had failed, I think it would be an avenue I'd want to explore. The fact that Parky doesn't re-inforces the view that what ever was bad in the dressing-room under Pardew is still lingering there.

Gillingham got three points tonight to move into a play-off place. They're also just one point off automatic promotion. So if Dicko goes there, our strikers could be assisting both Millwall and the Gills to promotion while Burton and Gray help us get relegated.
Only Wycombe have now won more games in Div Two than Gillingham this season and we could very easily be playing in the same division come next August - which I guess would be the first time since 1980-81 ?
Gray - still there albeit not for the want of us trying to offload him and possibly not for much longer
Varney - gone
Fleetwood - out on loan
McCleod - out on loan
Bouazza - gone
Dickson - going
Waghorn - going back
Todorov - about to retire?
Which leaves us Parky's Shearer/Linneker impersonator, Burton, to score the goals to get us out of trouble.
So we have a squad made up of 2 centre backs, 1 forward and 12 midfielders
i'm bumping this so there arent a million new threads on why dickson is the best striker in the world after he has scored one goal for us this year. ;-)
I think we all knew it wouldn't take him ten games to score. Can we now expect a miracle, and see him start against Palace, or has it just put his transfer value up. Why is Parky such a to..er.

Sounds like a Parkinson type player.........
We'll have to make do with a couple of random free transfers from League Two, with 15 goals in 6 years between them.
resign Charlie McDonald and Scott McGleish !!
Don't you mean Parkinson ... ?
;o)
And Varney for nearly half the season.

Not sure how much I believe my Southend supporting colleague who told me. But he was pretty adamant it is on the cards....
Southend are trying to get him on loan for the rest of the season, but Charlton have not agreed to a loan yet.
I remember Parkinson said a few weeks ago he wants to go permanently, if he still hasn't by the end of the window he'll go on loan.

I think you mean 2-7-0 Oggy
LOL, No not really, 2-8-0 maybe in practice, but Burton will be nominally leading the line.

Is Parkinson trying to get in a striker who may be able to score goals at all or has he just given up?
Will we see Dickson tomorrow at all?

And guess who it was.
Phil you are a complete idiot.
I don't think you'll be alone mate. If he's allowed to leave permanently it's an absolute disgrace.
Isn't it about time we went the Ebbsfleet route and the fans choose the starting 11???!
