Heard Forest fans on the radio last week and they were not a happy bunch - no talent in the team, no formation, no fight. And that was before their result at the weekend. Sounded like us a couple of months ago.

I was going to post this yesterday, Davies is already out PUBLICLY slagging off his chairman and other senior staff at the club (including, weirdly, David Pleat who is there as a "consultant") and I reckon his time there could be limited.
I know he has hid admirers but I think Mr. Davies is really a bit of a loose canon.
Thommo was a legend. Remember him scoring at Sellout in an evening game - slid in to the six yard box like he was making a challenge in his own area. ****ing loved that bloke.

I think that was against QPR in the League Cup? I met him once when I was in the JR's, he was built like the proverbial Brick Outhouse but from what I remember was also viewed as a bit of a ladies man by those in the know!
Davies has been backed massively by the Forest board and has spent very heavily on perm deals and loans, so its no suprise they're doing well. Davies is due some credit, but the chequebook has played a huge part in his success imo.
Some one complained the other week about Mooney throwing his shirt to the ground because he was unable to continue to play, Davies turned his back on us and then failed to have the courtesy to let us know. The only time I want to have him at the Valley is for us to stuff his team.
In all honesty the level of footballing knowledge on this board is quite poor. Facts speak for themselves. The clubs have moved in opposite directions since the two appointments. He's had some backing, true, but significantly less resources than many other managers that are in charge of teams a long way below his. I don't believe that we're outperforming any clubs with more resources than us.

It must be wonderful being right all the time... [pcrik]

Morts think about it matey....there are countless things( a huge slice of it is luck) that make a manager do great stuff at one club and then completely screw up at another....you simply CANNOT say that he would have done any better than anyone else.....it's horses for courses.
You could have brought in Alex Fergusson half way through last season but can you say with certainty that he would have saved our bacon....of course you can't.

most people thought/knew that the ONLY chance of us staying up last year was with a fresh body coming in and giving us a lift that only a fresh broom could ....
we didn't take that chance for whatever reason...
the one thing i can say with certainty is that no one could have done any worse than phil parkinson's results in his attempt to keep us up ...
to have given ourselves a chance is better than to have given ourselves no chance at all...

great example set by a site administrator.... be careful you might get banned for name calling .............oh well maybe not ....
maybe i'll change my opinion to yours if that'll make you feel better
He has spent at least £4m this season (there is an undisclosed fee) with two of those signings over £1m. None of that has been funded by selling players.
Two different worlds - he would never of had that kind of money with us.
Whether he would've done a better job with our current players is something we will never know - and to honest it's in the past and I really couldn't give a toss.
Fair enough on remembering the good times at Charlton with Curbs and in the Premiership but banging on about things that may have happened is just choosing situations for the point of a wind up and making yourself look superior on a message board.
I think that Davies would have had a lot of success here - our squad was better than Forest's. IF we'd stayed up, the board would have found £4m for signings - don't worry about that.
The issue is the reason why he turned us down last time - most likely the fact that he wasn't going to have final say on transfers - the club had decided that Andrew Mills would be in charge of the transfers and Davies doesn't stand for that - he nearly left Forest after a month because he said he had to have final say on all transfer dealings.

A view that I heard expressed elsewhere
Oooh, I just can't think who you could possibly be referring to!!!
LOL
Talking of which he just got sacked. Heard it on the radio but can't remember which club, Yeovil perhaps.

How long before he goes?
(Even if they are still way above us in the league - at the moment...)
