[cite]Posted By: stubs1310[/cite]I can't say that I'm surprised- I sit next to the directors box and they got given an awful lot of grief from departing fans on Monday night. They weren't happy during the game either from some of the looks on their faces and the mutterings going on between them. The consenus of opinion/cat calling that was aimed in their direction was that Parky was/is part of the rot that Pardew brought to the club and that a new direction is needed now. People were waving season tickets at them telling them they couldn't put up with it going on like this much longer and the directors should actually start directing the way the club is going!

Fair points to be honest.
I agree some good points in there but exactly how much can the board do?
As in every business the Directors are there for the most part to steer the "business"in the right direction and I would suggest that our board have made a very good job of that over a good few years.
Although they are fans and supporters, at the end of the day they are businessmen and not necessarily football professionals, and I don't mean players or ex players, rather people who have made their money/ living out of the game and have seen it all before. Again as in any business it is the job of the managers who should understand the day to day running of whatever business they are in who ultimately have the responsibility of making that business a success. That is why good managers get rewarded very well and why bad ones tend to be unemployed quite quickly.
If the Board gets let down by these so called professional managers surely all they can do is to try to ensure that the business survives and is in a position to make things right over time. That IMHO is exactly what the our Board of directors is trying to do and have backed it up with their own hard earned.
Our current situation is hurting us all like hell but I would suggest it is hurting the directors a hell of lot more than most and I for one think they deserve a break. Vent your spleen by all means but ensure it is at the people who are screwing it up not the poor sods who are financing what little we we have left.
Good. It was no less than they deserved as we were utterly tomtit, and it's comforting to see our chairman is acutely aware of the very, very desperate situation now engulfing us on the pitch.
BTW- Murray is chairman of the club. Chappell is chairman of the PLC.
The Murray dressing down of the players was categorcally denied by David Sumners on the "Pink Oboe" Mailing list tonight. Looks like the sensational soaraway Sun is up to its usual tricks.

I agree the quote from the fans rep is unlikely to help though....
