Richard Murray goes mad

  • Couldnt blame him one atom if he did blowen his stack. All the money ,time and effort he has put in. Plus the credit crunch re shares would have probably hit his own stock as well + the fact that we know mistakes (with 100% valid intentions) have been made and then the last piece "what the hell do we do now?"
  • [cite]Posted By: Curb_It[/cite]"The likes of Keith Gillespie would have been a great loan signing 10 years ago but not now.” "

yes thats it, more encouragement for the team.

i wish some people would just SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Agreed - it's counter-productive.
  • if true good on RM, as for the swipe at Gillespie its fair to say there are better examples of loans that don't work.
  • Dunno if it's been mentioned on here, but the Evening Standard and Daily Mail have been punting around "Parky faces the shove in favour of Kins" stories for a couple of days now.
  • I hope it is true.

According to The Gospel of St Curbs RM let his manager manage and on one occasion after Curbs signed a player said this may be the last time we meet. The plyer thought RM was joking but Curbs knew better.

Given that fact an outburst might just have an effect on the shower that presently masquerade as players.

Gillespie has got more crosses in playing badly than Lloyd Sam has this season.

Told you before, we need to advertise in the Guardian, for tofu eating, left handed outreach workers.
Specifically to address any possible gay members of the squad, allegedly CAFC are not doing enough in this area to accommodate and intigrate these members.

For the foreign members of the squad, M2K, Semedo, Holland etc, we need interpreters out on the pitch with them.

For the rest of the squad we need to show them what a football looks like and a goal, with real posts and nets etc, and then explain the FA Handbook on how to play the game.

I think we also need to get Kenny Lynch in for pre match entertainment.
  • I see, that sounds like a much better arrangement, Murray really being 'the real power' in either case. Wish I'd gone to that CA meeting now.

I heard a rumour that Derek Chappell is going to be at meeting in Bromley on Tuesday.

Don't let everyone know as I think it's a bit hush hush.
  • yeah he's not Murray tho is he, and all the way to Bromley... erk..

can we set up a falconwood branch (there's a delightful Harvester next to the station) and get Murray along?

    :)

By the way what was the old name of that Harvester pub...in fact thinking about it, it may still have the same name?
They used to have some great bands in there back in the 60's....Dave Hutton used to be the promoter(went on to be one the top music fly poster kings)....I used to work for Dave.....great fella.....just don't get on the wrong side of him though!

We've had Murray at Bromley every year for the last 16 years so no one loves him more than we do but have to give the other directors a chance as well and personally I think it's right and proper that the directors are out there being seen and being open to question in good times and bad.

And I know you were joking but it's a major frustration for me that there aren't meetings in Falconwood, Sidcup, Crayford, Woolwich, etc or when they do happen in Greenwich or Bexley have to be at the Valley, are poorly promoted and advertised or made members only. See the one tonight as a prime example.

Up to some people who live in those areas to make it happen. It's not as if the club aren't willing to put people up to come and when they happen they are good meetings

Something the fans forum should be working with the Club Development Manager and G & B CASC on IMHO.

    Rant over.

    The Falcon, mate...... lol

I used to see there bands like Manfed Manns Rare Earth Band, Pink Fairies, etc back in the early 70's
It wasn't a million miles from where I was living then. ;o)
  • Of course...yeah The Falcon...it would be wouldn't it!
Yeah............ saw some great bands there alright.
  • Bloke deserves the chant of "Richard Murrays Red N White Army" every now n then.
Certainly deserves it far more than the last few managers put together.
  • The Falcon! - that's where I met my first wife, at a disco as I recall. The place was full of skinheads (me included).

Those were the days, knew how to dress then we did. Crombies, Brogues, Ben Shermans.

Still wearing Ben Sherman gear now (love the Lakeside shop), best shirts ever made!

    Squires luminous socks.

    Two-tone suits, lol
  • Can understand why Parky brought Gillespie in, Lloyd Sam hasn't been good enough for most of the season. As someone said, we've had worse loans than him.

  • Fair play to muzza if he did it

i think it is about time they made an anouncment on who is going to be manager if it is Parky or not so atleast we will know as fans and tbh there was an ex pro on talk sport the other night who said players dont really try for a caretaker manager

so showing passion is fine but now is the time to be showing leadership in the next stage of charlton athletic imo
  • Lol, Essex_Al ......... but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now ......

    ;o)

Thats the problem, I dont think they know themselves yet.
  • Oggy, perhaps we should start another thread on the subject as we've been told off at the top of the board.

It's surprising how a thread just grows into other discussions. If the Falcon hadn't been mentioned, I would have never thought of my first wife and why I was there in the first place all those years ago!

But the Bart man is right, it was an original thread about Richard Murray!

Good on Richard, I say, it's about time our underperforming superstars were told a few home truths. Get a new manager in now!
  • I can't say that I'm surprised- I sit next to the directors box and they got given an awful lot of grief from departing fans on Monday night. They weren't happy during the game either from some of the looks on their faces and the mutterings going on between them. The consenus of opinion/cat calling that was aimed in their direction was that Parky was/is part of the rot that Pardew brought to the club and that a new direction is needed now. People were waving season tickets at them telling them they couldn't put up with it going on like this much longer and the directors should actually start directing the way the club is going!
  • There lies the bigger issue for me DA9 anyone there on tuedsay must have seen they wernt playing for Parky,us the shirt or fuk all

i think leadership is what is needed now from top to bottom

Whereabouts do you sit mate? I was about 10 feet from Waggy all game and he was not overly chirpy all night. Heard some of the grief though and there were a lot of harsh words being shouted.

Feel sorry for Murray and would hope he has given them a piece of his mind
