I would have gone for "been impressed and am happy for him to be given time while we look at other options" but can't please all the people all the time so 2.
He's obviously got the group working better than Pards, but his choice of Crainey as right-back worries me and I am sure Gray and/or Burton will not score enough goals to get us out of trouble.
Number 2 for me i cant see how we can afford anyone else and i dont think anyone else would have Kins as their 2nd in command and good do we need a Kinsella right now

Crainey is a worry but IMO any manager would have to pick him as part of the loan deal?
#2 for me
because we are a cautious group. If in a few games time we still show no signs of winning any games, the fans will be on his back and growling at all and sundry.
still we could be liverpool fans.. top of the league and booed their players i hear.
[cite]Posted By: mascot88[/cite]Interesting that everyone wnats to give him a chance BUT no one wants to give him the job....
He's already got the job, albeit on a caretaker basis, so there's time to see if he can take the team forward and look at other options, before giving it to him on a permanent basis.
I went to QPR and on Saturday, he has got more out of the players, but then if after losing 5-2 against Sheff Utd we didn't see a reaction then there is no hope for us.
I don't think we can wait to see what Parky can do in 5 or 6 games. If someone like Big Sam/Davies has applied then we should give them as much chance as possible.

yep, at the end they did. we paid a quid for setanta for 2 months last night and it fecked up 30 minutes into the game and we lost all setanta channels for ages. ended up watching a good prog on five about the 60s and turned over to see the last 2 minutes when they were throwing everything into it to no avail. and they got booed.
He is there till at least the end of the season so any talk of replacements is futile.
He has impressed the people who matter, mind you so did Pardew, and Dowie........
parkinson seems to have got us organised which makes a change ,seems he was allowed to make those loan signings so may be given the job permanately he is young and he might blend a decent side together ,but he is gonna need a bit of time and we dont have that at the moment ,good luck phil lets hope you can get some results and get us moving in the right direction , and also save us some money.
SUZI There was a bit on Watchdog last night about Sentanta which said if you use a dish then as Sentanta use a different satalite and have a weaker signal you need to get a a dish person to come and wiggle your dish a bit.
By the way I voted 2 as it is only fair to give Parky until Christmas, but I hope that they are interviewing candidates including Parky in case he doesn't survive then we'll have someone ready to start.

If a well known name like Big Sam or Billy Davies has applied - Fantastic!
That's exactly what we thought when we last appointed a well known name ....... Alan Pardew.
No guarantees in football, and some of the well known names can struggle too.
S'right, eh Alan.....?
He's got to be given time, if someone better comes along and WANTS the job then fair nuff but I think there are far worse options out there avaliable and making a rash decision could fuck our club so badly.
I personally say give time if out of bottom 3 by end of the year give him until the end of the season and re group over the summer
Ian Holloway- a passionate manager who believes... Having seen Parky interviewed on tv he seems to laid back. Pards always seemed to be aloof but Ollie is there in the trenches with the players and the fans- we need a believer, a leader and a 'real' football man. Ollie is from the Alex Ferguson school of managers in that he wants to be INVOLVED in all aspects of the club. Fergie appparently rates him very highly and has been known to do a few favours for him with regards to players etc!!!!
Maybe Ollie could keep us up like he did with Leicester last year.
Not sure why parky is not a "real" football man or not a leader (he was captain at Reading and has managerial experience).
I don't know what he believes in but that he's not a ranter is not a negative for me, the opposite in fact. Curbs was never a raver or ranter and neither was Paisley or Ramsey.
We're not fighting WW1 but running a football team so we don't need to worry about the trenches.
And the comparison between Holloway and Ferguson is just laughable. Ferguson said he rated Pardew highly as well.
Ollie was a dead man walking when he joined Leicester, everyone knew they were doomed as there was too much interference from Mandric- Fergie never did Pards any favours and I have close family who are West Ham season tickets holders and close family who are Plymouth season ticket holders. The three West Ham ones would not welcome Pards back as he did the same there as he did with Charlton. However the five Plymouth ones would have Ollie back as he put them on a stable footing and left them in good shape, look where THEY are now in the Championship with less money than we have got/had. Also his dealings in the transfer market stand up to sructiny and his scouting network was impressive- Slyvan Ebanks-Blake was a great buy for them at a snip and look what he is doing now for Wolves. Parky is tainted as being part of Pards backroom boys- a fresh start with someone who is Charlton through and through on the backroom staff like Keith Peacock or Chris Powell would be very positive.

That's very kind, but i'm not sure how much me and Oggy Red's opinions are listened to :-)
:)

However, the best option for the club is that he does well so I suppose option 2 is the closest.
Its sad that people choose option 3 after two games, almost willing him to fail. Sad.
Big Sam
Curbishley
Its a nonsense. We could barely afford Big Sam for 3 months, let alone his 80 prozone staff.
Get behind the manager FFS.
If Curbishley expressed a wish to come back I'd go for 3 but he is the only one I'd change from 2 for.
