Drop Nicky Weaver....

..how Ironic as he seems to drop every ball that comes near him!..just go back and I have never been so gutted for the team to have that joke in goal ruin all their and our efforts!

He probably had his head in his hand in the dressing room afterwards..I wonder who picked it up for him!!!

  • Good idea. We could put one of our other star keepers in goal in his place.

I like the way you think.
  • yeah good idea even though he's been one of the most consistent players since he came and kept us in numerous games. how about you think about what youre saying before posting
  • mate, I would give you a go in goal if it meant dropping that 'homer'! ..and as for Elliott would he be making basic goalkeeping errors week in week out??..we know this idiot is more than capeable of them so why not find out! If you had bothererd to get up there you would feel the same as me! nioce in your arnchair was it????
  • What a ridiculous post.

Been a very solid keeper for us. Ok, so he's had a poor/unlucky game today by all accounts. Over the course of the season he will earn us some vital points.

Where we are now we need someone of his experience.
  • maybe if you understood what you were watching you would think before posting!! uneducated football fans are why we are where we are!
  • Good idea.

Player of the Year last season ...... and probably our most consistant player so far this year.
    Obviously a rubbish player.

Step forward Rob Elliott .....you're obviously a more experienced and much better keeper.
  • FFS

one bad game and off with his head

    this post needs

worst post i have ever read

So the clubs problesm are all our fault great lets all stay at home next week and see what happens
  • hahaha! most consistant player! did you look see how many goals we have conceeded?? must all be defenders fault! I suppose you were one of those who voted carson POTY when we got relegated!! laughable!
  • Upminster mate ur right !! there was me thinking it was shit players -- bad transfers---pony manager. All the time it was me being an uneducated twonk ! mind you i think you read my old school reports !!

yeah cause that makes sense. more to do with people like u who boo the players and expect them to play better during the game.
  • Yeah just boo the manager, that's a much better option.;-)
  • What a crap thread .........I'm off down the pub.
  • I'm joining you Og.
  • Upminster, do you have something against decent goalkeepers?!

Carson was superb for us that season and Weaver has been consistent as you like.

I can't actually be bothered to write anything else as I can only assume you're on a massive wind-up.
  • that is my point, Pardew is working as hard as possible and getting nothing from players at home because of the "one mistake rule" if they make "one mistake" you start booing! What chance do they have. We all know they are rubbish but we still go. Why? my motivation is its my team and I don't care who playes for them, unfortunately others think they will go and have a right moan! therefore in my book, they are, in footballing terms, uneducated! Just get real and get behind them! ..oh and drop Weaver!!
  • have a look at Chelsea's goals today!, he was doing that consistantly for us!! I rest my case my lord!!

No I'm going down the pub!!
  • Our goals 'for' tally this season is ,amazingly, on a par with the rest of this league. It's our goals against where the problems lie.Now i'm not saying this is all Weavers fault, but he has to take a fair share of the responsibility.
  • Drop Weaver? What are you on, a very uneducated comment by all accounts!
  • derr, perhaps something to do with the 'strangers' who play in front of the keeper?

I think you are right, this must be a wind up
  • weaver is struggling and making mistakes. He pushes too many shots straight out in front of him and i can name quite a few goals scored against this way this season. saying that he makes some stunning saves. i may not be too long before we get thrashed but i wouldnt drop weaver yet, but it may not be far off.

Wise up perleeeease. We don't have another decent keeper on the books I'm afraid. With no money, we ain't going to get a better one any time soon. Weaver is the best we have. All keepers make mistakes. This is the keeper who has saved two penalties this season. There's nothing more too say. The best thing to do is get behind him and support him. If we don't he will really lose confidence then Pards will have to bring in an inferior keeper from the reserves and what possible good will that do? Come on it isn't rocket science.

If the pubs round here were still open I'd be off there like a shot.
  • Upminster!!

Ending all your sentences with exclamation marks doesn't lend them an air of legitimacy!!

Your post about dropping Weaver is bollocks!!

Try and avoid becoming the new Charlie Block!!
  • I saw the headline of the thread and thought that after today someone would start it but it's undeserved. The first was a slip, he lost his footing and a goal resulted, end of. I saw outfield players slipping today so should they be dropped ?
Lloyd Sam slips on the wing and it's not even noticed, a keeper slips and it is. The second I can't comment on as I can't remember it but it seems it was his fault. Fair enough. But he has been one of our most consistant performers and has saved us on numerous occasions and to drop him would be both unwarranted and foolish. I'd admit he's not the best in the League but he isn't the worst by a long chalk and he's certainly the best we've got.

And yet so many people are quick to criticise Varney, Grey, Holland, Bouazza, Semedo, Ambrose, Youga, Craine, etc.

Where exactly does this faith in Weaver come from? I feel to a certain extent he HAS been a victim of circumstance but, I honestly do not think he is a very good goal keeper. We've been lucky over the years, we've been blessed with many decent goalies. Weaver? I don't think so.

I often read the posts on here slagging off all of our outfield players, our fans, our managers. This post, to my recollection, is the first in a long while to criticise the one player who for some reason has missed the flak.

I'm often bemused in the support Weaver gets.. Today was a mistake for which I won't blame him but I for one rarely sing his name.
  • we have no one else to take over and to be honest hes good, he can be excellent on his day.... putting in some in experienced 20 year old to fac 6000 boos when the opposition gets a corner is not the best move in my opinion....

let him keep his beard and let help the boys with the development and Reaction that has already occured... with this effort and commintment if we played barnsley again we would not be three nil down by half time....

We were 1-0 down in pretty much the same situation from Brum as we were against Barnsley.. a shot on the edge of the penalty area from a corner. Admittedly Weaver wasn't to blame for either goal but more generally we have to ask why we are conceding so many goals? The defence and midfield can only take so much of the blame.
  • Are you the same Upminster that used to post on Netaddicks...I assume you are?
    Says it all really.
