[cite]Posted By: DA9[/cite]Can anyone remember how the scoring went away to Ipswich, late December 1990, 4-4 draw, I remember Peake's rocket from a free kick

    1-0 then 2-0 Ipswich then 2-1 2-2 then 3-2 4-2 Ipswich 4-3,4-4 great game,boxing day i think

I though that, but internet fixtures says 29th December 1990, but cant find the goals anywhere.

    2-0 Down after 5 minutes.

Only good thing to that year- the rest was gash.

    All Thaid up was there.

Who was that class player that scored for them, he looked good!

Rainy saturday afternoon at the manor ground
  • Our long-standing manager resigns leaving a squad bereft of talent, his replacement blows £13m of borrowed money on rejected wasters; he gets sacked and soon after so is his replacement. A new messiah comes in on a handsome salary but cannot save us from relegation, spends more borrowed money, cannot get us back-up and leaves us on the precipice of the third tier of football.

    Step forward our saviour....................?????
  • Dont know if anyone can help , most of my recollections of last minute goals were as my dad dragged me up the east terrace (to avoid the crowds ffs) But i remember a late keith peacock free kick at least 30 yrds out to hit a winner guess around about 1973 any ideas of the game ?
  • 5-5 at Bristol Rovers.....however, I cant remember if it was us or them who foughtback.....maybe it was them, Id had a few........those were the days down at Shi...erm Eastville

It was them Tel. I think we were winning 5-3, with only a few minutes to go but were lucky to escape with a 5-5 draw. Eastville was a truly shocking old ground. It was nestled right under the M32 motorway & people used to pull over onto the hard shoulder to watch the game!
  • The Newcastle game was the day before my Dad died. We'd got the phone call that morning and were driving to Wales to effectively say our goodbyes. Listened to the game on the way down, was so relieved we won; it was one pleasant thing an an otherwise dreadful day. It also gave me something tangible to say to Dad rather than just sitting there trying not to blub.

Another one that I particularly remember is Jensen's last minute winner after Friedel had equalised.

JANUARY 26: FA Cup fourth round at The Valley. the day before my mum died see we were always shit!

I was there for that Tel. I think we were losing to start with but then were in front until near the end. The worst thing about having a shit memory is you can't remember anything.

I do remember it being 5-3 at one point, glad someone has a good memory Pete :-)
werent we losing 3-1 and then scored 3 quick goals and then hit a fifth....very hazy. I do recall it was televised though....

I was there also. Went on a Lewis coach so it is amazing that I made it.
I think at one stage we were 4-2 up with 20 mins to go.
We also hand a 100% away record and Rovers a 100% home record at that stage of the season.

    I was at 3 of those....the 3-3 Millwall game was a cracker
  • 4-0 down at Leicester City in the early 60's in the League Cup - came back to draw 4-4 and 'do' them in the replay at The Valley (in the days when replays were fashionable).
  • Oi, you lot! This is supposed to be a positive thread promoting the virtues of never giving in or giving up - less of the last minute equalisers and winners for the oppo please....now THAT might prove to be just about the longest thread ever.

Aside from the obvious ones (Play Off/Hudersfield) I can't believe I'd forgoten so many of these great games I've been too.
  • [cite]Posted By: TelinOz[/cite]I was at 3 of those....the 3-3 Millwall game was a cracker

did you find yourself shuffling along the arthur waite stand towards the sainsburys end cos it was full of millwall down where i used to stand... scary lot that mob!!
  • I was in the Sainsbury mate...season ticket holder
  • that was a safer place that night than the arthur waite stand!!
  • not as safe as staying at home.....lol
  • Was sat in the original junior red enclosure that night. Block W in the Arthur Waite. Was absolutely full of Millwall. Remember sitting there as a 12 year old and absolutely bricking it. They had a pop at my mates dad when he asked them to tone it down as they were in the family enclosure....

We decanted to the Sainsburys End not long after.

As for comebacks, hard to look any further than that night, 4-3 at Newcastle, not really a comeback (although we were a goal down) 4-2 at Highbury, have very fond memories of the Man Ure 3-3 as well.
  • 4-4 vs Norwich at home think it was around 97, anyone remember this game?.. Sure we scored twice in injury time Leaburn with equaliser? Great game.
