Greatest Charlton comebacks.

In the interests of proving that it's never over 'till it's over and that we as Addicks should never give up no matter how bleak things are looking, how about a thread devoted to our best ever comebacks?

I'll start the ball rolling with one of my own favourite - a freezing cold Newcastle, Jan 1992, 3 nil down inside the first half hour or so but hold on.....who's that on the wing? Yep, with one of the sweetest left foots I've ever seen it's Walshie with a brace, another from a young Barness and yes, if my memory serves me right, the winner from.....PARDEW!

Great game, great spirit, great fans (those few who went) and proves that anything is possible with the right attitude.

  • The 3-3 draw with Man U in 2000- 1-3 down with 20 minutes to go, Bartlett pulled one back and then that amazing Robbo equalsier- if I'm right United had never been pegged back from that position in the Prem before.

Also in 1999 coming back to beat Tranmere 3-2 after being 0-2 down inside half an hour.

Should have won that game. Graham Stewart had a great chance right at the death and shot wide.
  • 5-3 against Barnsley strangely enough. 3-0 down at half time following a Futcher hattrick. 5 goals in the second half (Dowman 2). That team had the minerals to make that sort of comeback ......................

Great game,i think the winner went down as an OG to O'Brien but it still went in.

Not as good but coming back from two goals down twice at Ipswich for a 4-4 with the Late Tommy Caton scoring the equiliser from the spot or coming back from 3-1 down two seasons on the trot at Notts County for 3-3 draws

  • Can anyone remember how the scoring went away to Ipswich, late December 1990, 4-4 draw, I remember Peake's rocket from a free kick
  • When we played Newcastle at home in our first season in the prem we hadnt won for ages or drawn even, we had a perfectly good goal ruled out coz the muppet lino said it hadnt crossed the line, newcaste were 2 - 1 will never forget Martin Tylers comentry when i watched it when i got home, "life can be so so cruel when your in the basement" 93rd min back pass to Eddie youds... Screams of get it Forward!!!.. Youds long ball to Parker... Parker to Pringle.... "Its 2-2!!!!!!, Would you belive it!!!" i still to this day dont think i have celebrated a an equaliser with so much passion, there blokes next to me that we never spoke to but we were hugging each other and it felt like we had just won the league. Might not be an all time come back but to me and the blokes in the east stand im sure it will be right up there.image

    ???
  • newcastle away has to be up there 3-0 down after about 30 minutes and won 4-3
  • Richard Murray to Simon Jordan Daz..
  • Another memorable one: FA Cup 5th Round, Jan 2000
    Coventry 2 Charlton 3

First division Charlton 2 down in 20 mins, fought back brilliantly. The big Charlton contingent went berserk when Hunt scored the winner in the last minute. How many of the current squad would get into this team?

Kiely, Shields, Rufus, Brown, Powell, Robinson, Newton, Kinsella, Stuart, Pringle, Hunt. Subs: Ilic, Konchesky, Todd, MacDonald, Salako.

Dazzler...... it's a quote from Richard Murray to Simon jordan following the 1-1 draw at The Valley.
To be precise be actually said ..."Enjoy life in The Championship you tosser."
