  • [cite]Posted By: nigel w[/cite]since Mr Pardew's highly-paid appointment in Dec 2006, there have been 79 managerial changes in the other 91 league clubs?
Perhaps we are the sane ones in the crazy world of football :-)
  • Hear, hear, Salad!

If sanity is signing 32 players and spending 13 mill to reduce us to the drop zone of the championship, then what do you call crazy?

There's another team that like us had multiple managers in 2006 - Hull City. They appointed Phil Brown as their third of the year in Dec 2006 because Phil Parkinson left and came to Charlton with Mr Pardew .

Brown has since taken Hull from the lower reaches of the Championship to near the top of the Premeirship. Messrs Pardew and Parkinson have taken Charlton in the opposite direction from the Premership to the bottom three of the championship and Hull now sit 36 places above us in the league.

I can see that Hull are ''the sane ones in the crazy world of football ''. I'd be interested to hear how the same conclusion can be drawn from our diametrically opposite experience !
  • It was tongue in cheek Nigel, but whatever our current situation changing managers every 5 minutes isn't a great way to model for any club.

To balance your point with regards to Hull, do you think Derby fans wish they had perservered with Phil Brown rather than sack him?
  • Point taken, Salad. Can't deny it's a very fair one...
  • Back the board, back the board, back the board!
    I hear you chant!
