++++++++++++++ The 'Trust The Board' Petition ++++++++++++++

edited November 2008 in General Charlton
If you don't chant for the manager's head at The Valley (even if you think his position seems untenable) and if you believe that the board are just as unhappy as you with our predicament and, equally, believe that they (unlike the boards of many other clubs) will proceed in the best interests of the club, then sign up here ... let's see if there's ten of us!

  • I completely understand the boards position, and I suspect that most fans do to, I guess people chanting - which i haven't done - is fans trying to get him to resign perhaps?
  • Thirded. (From a long way away, admittedly).
  • I'm hopeful that the board are in the process of suming up all the pro's n cons and working to find a way to steer us out of the current pile of shite. Even though it is a frustrating wait the charlton way has generally been to keep it all in house untell definate decisions are made. The important thing is to support our young team 100 % through all of this.
  • we've got a good board....
but they are only human and we all make mistakes but let's hope their next appointment wont be as bad as their recent ones
anyone who's mad enough to risk the sort of money they have in our club is fine by me...
  • As posted on another thread getting rid of the manager is a massive decision and part of the predicament we are in now is because of mismanagement of Alan Curbishley's departure.

I'd like to think that a Board that has got most things right for 15 years or more will learn from that one (big) mistake and make the right decision at the right time now.

    So "fourthed"
  • I trust the board but want Pardew to resign and would actively encourage him to do so... surely i'm in both camps!
  • I'm in. I'm supporting the club through this difficult time, and remain in the hope that they will get out of this sticky period and will be mid table by xmas.
  • Yes I trust the board, just hope they don't leave any decision too late, and get the right replacement if Pardew is sacked.

  • I'm in. This is a minor blip before our charge to glory!
  • As with most of the comments on here, I trust the board will make the right decision and remove any obstacles to progress. Despite some poor decisions they have made I have always thought they were 100% in it for the good of the club and will make the tough decisions required. I have not been a booer or a sack the board person but will vote with my feet.
  • Unlike some, I dont blame the board for the current situation. Pards , from his managerial record looked a good appointment. Unfortunately it hasn't worked out. Only the board, with their knowledge of all the facts, financial and otherwise, can decide on the best course of action. I have no doubt, that whatever they decide, will be what they feel is best for the club. They are after all Charlton fans, not just directors.
  • I have expressed some critiscism of the board in the past but for me Bexley Red states the position perfectly

  • I'm in. I completely agree with BexleyRed:

  • I'm in, I trust the Board.
  • im in! i trust the bald
  • Yes, of course! Managing the club is down to the Board & I KNOW that they will make the right decision(s).
  • I should cocoa
  • Of course we trust and support the board.

And one completely understands their predicament.

Under other circs, they would have got rid of Mr Pardew at the end of last season when he screwed up with one of the best and highest-paid squads in the championship. They didn't because we were still locked in the after-shock of the double trauma of Dowie/Les Reed and quite reasonably believed that 'stability' was the over-riding requirement.

To be honest, I think Mr Pardew (I've dropped anything less formal in case it's taken to imply affection) has exploited that...

  • I support the board to do the right thing and that is get rid of Pardew the forum is over run with support for this board the threads are against Pardew not the board
  • Count me in.
  • Count me in too.
  • Im definately In
  • I'll go with this - whilst, from my limited view, I think Pardew should go, the board see the whole picture.
  • Our current board have always acted in the best interests of CAFC. Mistakes have been made, sure, but I am still 100% behind them and fully expect them to take the appropriate course of action to continue acting in our best interests.
