+++++++++++The Pardew Out Petition+++++++++++

edited November 2008 in General Charlton
A lot of fantastic, reasoned points have been made recently in relation to the current situation.

It is clear that we have to ensure the club know exactly how we, the supporters, feel.

Due to sheer volumes, a lot of what has been posted will sadly not be seen by those who matter. I will sticky this thread in the knowledge it will be noticed.

Please review what you have posted previously, and try in no more than a paragraph or two to point your point forward articulately. Any childish abuse will be deleted. If you can't think of anything to say, simply add your name if you wish to.

thank you

With careful thought I will add my name to this, I decided to edit my thoughts off this messageboard as well as on them. Like many others I have always backed the manager in charge of my club, we have survived for years with players that have less skill than those currantly wearing the Red Shirt of the club I love, but to see the passionless display yesterday and the gutless performances throughout this season means for me enough is enough.
The last time I put my name to anything I felt more passionate about than this, I voted for "The Valley Party"
    I want my Charlton back.

Yeah, I'll add my "name". However this shall work.

Being new to this place, I wanna point out that I'm not someone who's been wanting Pardew out for ages. But after a steady steady slide, 3 soft goals yesterday really turned my opinion.
  • Yes,didn't want it to come to this, but cant see any option now. Just going from bad to worse.
  • I've said enough elsewhere as to my opinions so I'll just say I'll gladly sign and hope that those responsible take note.
  • Maintained he wasnt the man for us.............get him out
  • I have always got 100% behind everyone playing and managing Charlton, and have always tried to encourage unity as much as i can. It breaks my heart to turn on a Charlton manager as i've never done that before, i couldn't even bring myself to do that to poor old Les.

If i have finally turned, then there really can't be many left who haven't.

But this season has to be rescued while it still can be. Christ, it sounds ridiculous but with a run the play offs are still very much in play.

But what we have at the moment is a team sinking at an alarming rate. It has nothing, it is a shell of a team. It has no heart, no backbone, no creativity and no goals. Its as much relegation material as Derby was in the Prem last year.

It is his team, he has put this together, and he still has not a clue on how to set it out correctly to win games in this division.

We simply cannot sit back and let it happen.
  • Time for him to go. How much worse can it get this year?
  • Agree 100% AFKA. I too take no pleasure from this, another management change was the last thing we need, but we are going from bad to worse, and we need someone to stop the rot now. Sadly, Pards shows no sign of being the person to do that.
  • I was delighted and excited when he became our manager, expecting him not to be the saviour of our Premiership status, as I knew we were carrying too much dead wood to do that, but thought he was the right man to trim, build and pull together a young entertaining football side that would challenge strongly for promotion. He has spent money, been given lots of backing from the Board and supporters alike, but as said before his methods are not working here. The wrong blend, the wrong tactics and a lack of motivating ability.

Enough is enough, Pards out, but good luck elsewhere. Sometimes things just don't work out!
  • He has lost the respect of the fans and players sorry Pards time to do the honourable thing.

  • I promised myself i'd keep the lid on things unless we ended up in the drop zone. Lo and behold where are we? I really thought he would be the man but if you could see our league positions in graph form since he took charge i can imagine a line going straight down. I think i can count the highlights on one hand and so sadly i have to say as well, enough is most definately enough. Go NOW - please.
  • I hate disloyalty but enough is enough. I held on with the hope that after the last two lucky points, the corner had been turned and we would start climbing the hole. Frankly I can't see how he can motivate these players now. They have no confidence in themselves and he can't change this. If I was him, I'd resign. If I was the Board, I'd do something quick, compensation or no compensation, the cost of relegation will surely be greater than that.

I don't think everything has totally been his fault but that, in the end, isn't what counts. If the ship has a problem with it’s rudder and the helmsman isn't strong enough to steer it away from the rocks, its time to replace him with somebody who can.

    GOT TO GO

He hasnt uncrossed his arms from the touchline all season and doesnt have a plan let alone plan B.

Midfielders on the wrong wings, supposed English u21 players (Did he ever watch Cranie play before he agreed to play him every minute of every game no matter how dog awful he plays?) persisting with Youga, constant pumping the ball up field with no other clue, not having the balls to blame himself and realise his team selection is shit but finding any other excuse.

He will drag this club down before we know it. Les and Dowie (Although I would have sacked ID for the shit he bought, not results) were not given nowhere near as long as this Palace mug.

He won 5 Premier games out of 18 (which could also be relegation form) and has been given us two seasons of a laidback attitude and inept perfomances

I add my name to the petition with a heavy heart.

I was excited by his appointment but it has since been downhill virtually all the way. He built the team and it has become utterly dysfunctional. It is getting worse and it is clear he doesn't know what has gone wrong, let alone how to fix it.

We could still make the play-offs but we need to go on a run and that's clearly not going to happen under the current regime: it's now almost a year since we managed to get six points from two consecutive games. The rare step forward is inevitably followed immediately by two steps backwards.

Relegation looms and anyone who has seen the last few games would say that even if we were not currently in the bottom three : it is a fact not based on our position in the table but on what we have seen going on out on the pitch.

He can't get the best out of the players in terms of their undeniable footballing skills and he can't seem to inspire them to play with the passion we have always associated with CAFC.

Something is rotten to the core and to keep him simply because we can't afford to get rid of him would be the worst reason of all not to bite the bullet.

He's lost 95 per cent of the fans. And it would appear from the way we are playing that he's lost the dressing room.

Change now, sooner rather than later while there is still time to rescue the season.

  • I have definitely been in the give him a chance camp, but after yesterday when a pretty average, even poor, Championship team come to the Valley and play with purpose, aggression and a pattern of play it puts us to shame. I always was of the mind that on the pitch it's down to players, but this season it's made me realise that if they're going out there with no plan or motivation doesn't matter how good your players are. And that is ultimately the managers fault.

I'd be really disappointed to see our club slowly disintegrating on the pitch but I am in shock at how quickly it seems to be happening.

Don't see him ever turning it around, just like I didn't with Reed in charge.

Far too many excuses, always has something to say about key players missing, or referees, or a bit of luck.

There's enough talent here for mid table.

Varney scored around 8 goals last season, and only started around half our games, he looks like he'll struggle to score half that at the moment.

    As brief as possible.

Pards has had nearly two years now and the club and fans have been very patient.

He came with a good CV and I put my trust in him.

I don't think he knows what to do next or where things are going wrong.

I think he's lost the dressing room, certainly the fans and quite probably a good % of those on The Board.

Ramos arrived at Spurs with a good CV but he was never going to turn it round at Spurs. Their board realised that just in time.

Fall on your sword Mr Pardew.
  • well done afka count me well and truly in the Pardew must go camp, i'd rather have Alan Partridge manage us at the moment than Pardew.
  • Sorry Pards but it's time to go
  • Yes time to go, he has had enough chances, and Im totally over his never ending excuses and please take Parky as well as our tactics, set plays etc are a shambles....and no more bloody loanees.
  • Act & remove him before it's too late please...

Pardew was unable to turn around the mess left behind by Dowie/Reed when he was appointed in December 2006 - give the new guy a fighting chance to sort out this under-performing squad & assess what can/cannot be done in the January transfer window.

No more dithering - time to act!!

said before didnt blame him re us geting relegated. Thought he knew this division , and it was the right choice as manager. last season he brought in alot of new players, his "shotgun" aproach to transfers was alarming . Last year we under performed big time. This season we said a smaller squad will help him find his best 11 and that would be a good thing--------------------------- nope. He hasnt changed he still hasnt a clue what his best 11 is. His attitude / body language dosnt help.I also blame him for the Zebel pulling out (gut feeling). Our young players are being destroyed and so is this club.

If he dont walk by Wednesday SACK HIM.
  • Time to go and it needs to be NOW! before its too late . Expected it to be today , what are they waiting for , its obvious the players have no faith in him. His latest excuse was we missed Primus , FFSake he aint even a charlton player , how long can these excuses go on.
  • It comes to something when, I want the team to lose, just to get rid of him.
  • I blame the players who have shown a complete lack of backbone and character, they have let down us (and the manager, who must now go).
  • Something has to change (we cannot expect things to magically get better despite all the evidence to the contrary).

Sorry Pards, but its time to go.
