i didnt boo last night, but i did have to shout "Youga.. you are a fecking joke" at least once last night, the guy is just not up for this league im sorry if that offends people who like him but he is a league one player at best, what has Basey done to be left out? Im all for letting Pards and the boys know what we thought of them at full time but the booing at half time and at some indervidual players is not right. I know people say its not the charlton way to boo, but we arnt the charlton alot of people still think we are, the good old days have gone.. we are a business now, if you paid £30 quid to go watch a band who were bloody awful you would boo. Good old charlton does not exist anymore people sorry....

As I said in another post, I don't understand what has happened to Youga. You can't say that he isn't up to this league because he did it consistantly for Stoke on loan. So what is it that Pardew is getting wrong with him?
How many games did people see Youga play for Scunthorpe?? i agree when he returned he looked ok, part of this could be the fact that he was match fit and sharp after being the reserves since he arived as a teenager from france. Last night in the last 15 mins i bet my mates he would get him self sent off as he started to jump in abit. What i have seen Basey would be first choice for me as they let Thatcher go.
Am new to this forum, haven't posted before, but feel happy to have found that it wasn't only me that was embarassed by the atmosphere last night. OK we lost, but I for one will still continue to support our team rather than boo them.
Funniest site last night for me was about ten minutes from the end when the Bristol Full Back Orr I think his name is went down like a sack of spuds under a nothing challenge again & won a free kick near the corner flag. He turned & smiled at the North Lower but then as he turned a load of kids all less than 10 years old probably about six or seven of them at the front of the West Stand were giving him the Gareth Hunt Coffee hand signal, which he looked shocked at. I was in hysterics.
As already mentioned to put the blame for booing on the "Johnny come latelys"/Plastic Prems etc is quite wrong. Whilst 90%of them may boo, a vast majority of booers and moaners have been coming for years and years.
Most Charlton fans I know, and I have known many for the best part of 40 years have a glass half empty view of CAFC.
The more we talk about it and highlight it, the worse it will get.
There was however some good efforts from the upper North last night to get support going. I just wish we had a more exciting and inspirational song than the bloody awful VFR.
I bet I know who started the "I'm Charlton till I die" one! That was impressive.
Well, I hate the booing but was told last night that I should basically shut up and let them get on with it as "they are entitled to their opinion". So obviously the only people allowed to express their opinions at Charlton are those that boo.
What with the guy in front moaning at me and a couple of 12 years olds trying to have a go at me because I wasn't actually joining in with the boos, I'm not sure I even want to go to games anymore. I go to matches to watch the team and spend time with my brother and other family and generally have a laugh - which I always manage to do, even if we do lose. I don't go to listen to a load of morons booing the team for any slight mistake or to be told that supporting my team is not appreciated.

Wilma - thats exactly how i felt last night. I just thought - "over £500 for this every season".
And its not because of the players on the pitch - it is some of the idiots around me - it is making the time in The Valley for me horrible. May just do the pub before and after next season!
Like a few others have said, I've got no issue with paying customers booing the team at full time. However most of that type don't want to stay that long, they've got cars to get or trains to catch. Unfortunately booing at half time and booing players during the game is pathetic and counter productive. If the worst case did happen and we drop another league we will, at least, clear out a few of these plastics.
couldnt belive how quickly the east stand emptyed out last night, i know there was loads of schools anf youth groups there, there was a group of about 15 'youths' who had no interst in the game at all they just fighting amonst themselfs and playing music on there mobiles, im all up for getting kids in who may not have been to the valley before who have no one to take them but there must be some vetting. there was also a group of german people a couple where wearing bayern munich shirts seemed bemused when some dayglow hitler chased them all the way down the isle to tell them they had to take there flimsey plastic pint glasses outside to tthe concourse, just as another group went past with heavey solid coke plastics cups!! madness i tell you.

Still took me forever to get out of the East, you must mean at the Away end. Anyway, East, North and West, they ALL had people streaming out before added time had even been advertised. The only stand that didn't empty was the South!
As an idea why dont we all move to one area of the ground next season and call it the non booing section! That would solve it? .....haha I sit west lower buggsy that section!
i left at 88 as couldnt bear the thoughts of all the booing .
An some of you say you can boo if you want its a free country but as its a free country then i can also say that anyone that boo's during a game is a complete and utter melt. I would like to use a stronger term but im trying to adhere to the rules.

Must have made their parents proud, a few years ago for some reason I was in the family enclosure whcih was mixed, the game Millwall and their kids were shocking sounds like we have sunk to the same depths if we are proud of this.
Most people on here sit in the North stand I'd guess so it's probably a big thing but the booing that took place was so half-hearted that it didn't even carry to Block B of the WEst Stand where I was sitting so I don't think it's such a big issue as people on here are making it. Bearing in mind Youga was right in front of me for the majority of the second-half I doubt he heard it either.
Booing Pardew at the final whistle was fair enough in my opinion as he again failed to do anything during the game tactically or motivationally to justify his inflated salary.
For the first time in ages I actually moaned about our fans and shouted "Stop fucking booing - we are by far the better team"
After the second goal a few more around me were booing and after that I just got the hump. Pardew deserves it after the final whistle but not the players
The only person I have no sympathy for is Youga who is just a clown
The pair of old bigots behind me had a small kid with them - couldn't have been any older than eight, and he was booing with the grown-ups at half-time. It was heart-breaking.
AFKA - I reckon you're onto something about the people who shout "fish", and I'm only half-joking. Immediately before the first goal, there was a round of booing which greeted the non-appearance of the fish thing... any connection?
The booing threads are soooooooooo boring...If the team performs and fights even if we lose then people will respect that. Rolling over and playing dead as this bunch of individuals seem to do at the drop of a hat and they get what they deserve at the End of the game. And I will say again, 90% was directed at our illustrious leader.....Ive said my piece, so I'll leave it at that.
And for the record I dont boo and never would....maybe if people vented there spleen at our manager rather than debating booing would be more effective.
Comments
and I blame men with womens names.
I'm confused. Help me!
#but please don't boo me#

Rest of your post is spot on imo.
Oh how lucky they've had, and if this is all the gruel they get, they're even more lucky

very apt as we thought half the crowd were leaving early to top themselves!
It was that......even the fish cant find the net.

^^^THIS
Youga was and will a liability for the team unless he calms down.

I HATE THE FECKING FEESH and it is those that boo that say feesh as one behind me stopped booing to say feeesh then booed every time youa got the ball
And for the record I dont boo and never would....maybe if people vented there spleen at our manager rather than debating booing would be more effective.
