a lone voice bellowing, "Buck your ideas up, Charlton. COME ON!!!!!"
Have to defend Golfy here. He never openly shouts out criticism or slags off the team. He just gives his opinion to others on how he sees things going (99% negative). He's just naturally pessimistic but if he makes noise it's to support the team in a positive manner.
Only meant in jest, hence all the winky smiley things.
I know he's your bruv ......but he's earned himself a little reputation, hence the gentle bit of fun.
At least he's always there, wish I could be ........
Oh, don't worry, you don't even need to use a winky smiley things, he drives me nuts too. But as you say, he's my brother, so I will defend him when I think I should, just as I will also often tell him to stop being a miserable old so and so when necessary (normally every 90 seconds).
Hudson looked solid Forts no mistakes, still worried about Gray and Varney hopefully the goal will do him good, Varney needs to be more confident and stronger worked hard in tracking back.
we were ok not too much for the boo boys to get into
IMO Thomas was better than Sam in the first half i thought Sam did nothing and thomas only slightly more
1st game in no goals against 2 headed goals no bookings or injuries
good meet in the Liberal nice to put faces to names
Weaver made some good saves but struggled to keep hold of the ball - think it must have been down to the wet conditions.
The back four looked solid and more than competent at this level. Defensively good but we could improve distribution from the back.
In midfield I was impressed by Racon. Haven't seen much of him but seemed a good player and made some intelligent passes. Shelvey was quiet today but had an influence with an excellent corner in the 2nd minute. The wingers were disappointing in my opinion. Both Sam and Thomas at times showed some good footwork but never seemed to run at full speed and almost looked sluggish without an end product. I'm hoping Bouazza may improve us in this position. Shelvey and Basey provided the set pieces for our goals, and I can't honestly say that Sam and Thomas would have been capable of that.
Gray and Varney tried hard but didn't really have good enough service from the flanks, and were offside too often. Can't fault them for workrate though.
Overall, I think we looked solid, and for all their possession, Swansea didn't create too many chances. We can definitely improve in key attacking areas. I'm sure we will see more from players like Shelvey and Varney in games to come.
