Not had mine yet but my other half took a call yesterday - she told them to speak to me!
I get the feeling that there is a worrying downturn in renewals - hence the extended deadline -supposedly for admin reasons.
I imagine they are trying to establish the rationale behind it - financial? - non Prem? - disappointing last season? - etc etc and then formulate some kind of initiative to galvanize season ticket sales.

There is bound to be a downturn in renewals, its natural in a 2nd season outside the prem, and only depending on what the actual level is can you ascertain whether its worrying or not.
What they seem to be doing is good business practice. They are doing their best to get known customers to commit, and if not, finding out the reasons why so they can learn from it.

I thought that was what I said - i.e they want to know why people are not renewing to consider whether there is something they can do to address the situation.
I have recently been told a couple of relatively similar totals - ( supposedly accurate but maybe BS) - which, if they ARE correct, will be giving the board palpitations - I'm not going to say what those totals are but I very much hope they are wrong!
[cite]Posted By: AFKABartram[/cite]If they were currently around say 12k, is that good / bad / acceptable etc
I think 12k is highly commendable, if true. If that could turn into 15k before the start of the season that would only represent something like a 10% drop from last season which given the circumstances I would guess would be better than expectations.
if they had rung me i would have said coz we were shite last year, maybe then they would have got the drift on what a complete load of bollo**s last season really woz.
I agree Brunello, the important thing though will be turning that 12k into 15k though ?
THose who have made up their minds to buy ad hoc are unlikely to be won other by a signing as there are no such things as glamour signings in this league. Perhaps we should really push a discounted parent ticket through all the summer schools ?
Given what I was told - while the extra week's deadline was still running - a late rush may possibly have taken it up to 12K - but the figure I was given was well below that with a day to go before the original deadline.
IMHO, if it is 12K I suppose that might be acceptable but still 29-30% down on the 17K+ last year. I know that doesn't allow for new applicants and late decisions etc but it is a big hole in committed funds for the board to consider.

But Norwich fans have only 2 choices as to how they spend their Saturday's. Eeither go and watch the local football team or chase a few sheep around a field.

If anyone else gets a call could they use this as their reason please. I'd love to know what the response would be....

I had decided not to renew. Got sick and tired of sitting amongst the fickle fans of the North Upper then thought I'd move to north lower as i went there last game of the season and enjoyed the view etc plus of course it is cheaper. But I'm now undecided - part of me says renew and just turn up to games when I feel like it plus it's a free ST and having been an ST for nigh on 20 years I deserve something back from the club.
The other part says have a year or two off as bored of it - need the time for studying now I am near the end of my knolwedge time and spend more time with the kids.
Some of you can give me stick - AFKA's yellow belly splitter is a bit strong but I'll put that down to little man syndrome but I take his point -
oh FFS I don't know what to do. I intend to going to some games just don't want to fork out, hardly a kings ransom I know, for an ST and only go to about 8 games.

I'm sure that everyone connected with the club knows this already.

in general, not as loyal as many a Clubs fans. We have a hardcore 12k in my opinion and the rest are supporters when we are in the PL or doing well. Fact of life. If we can get back to the PL and are able to consolidate there again then we could easily sustain a 35k stadium. Problem is that if we drop back down again we are stuffed. Either way I'd rather support the Addicks than anyone else as, in my opinion, relegation, promotion, seasons of joy, seasons of dispair are all part of being a football fan and I love it. Where the heck is the fun in supporting a team like Arsenal, not to experience relegation or promotion, boring. Ok, we were crap last season but at the end of the day 'so what'. Far, far worse things could (and do) happen as we have all felt elsewhere this summer. I'm afraid to say that Bill Shankly was actually wrong in what he said a few decades ago.

Still very good imho- given it'll be our 2nd term in the championship...
