The 4-3 at Villa that kept us up till the final game of the season would have to be the best away game I've ever been to. Steveie Brown going in goal and pulling off a top draw save with his first touch.
And of course Mill's goal in the last minute......
Thought Liverpool away last game of Last season was one of the most enjoyable relaxed games I have watched, we outsung the Kop we played some sublime football on the pitch & for a relegated side were a credit to football full stop.
to many be they wins or losses loved the win @ old trafford and whilst big ron was being interviewed chanting atkinson out but probably the play off final against leeds @ st andrews also the boxing day game against palace @ palace allders sale allders sale
Palace away third round replay 1968 it was my first ever away game followed by the 2-0 defeat at The Arsenal Stadium in the fourth round.....I remember the tube broke down on the way to the match, and I swear my feet didnt touch the ground on the way into the stadium...the crowd seemed huge....still have the programs from both games. More recently, the 3-0 away loss at Wolves in 76.....greataway following, 1-0 at Old Trafford, the 3-2 at Carlisle, Fa Cup game at Man Utd....ran a private coach from West Kingsdown.....Shrewsbury away....got there early and when the first coach arrived in the car park we played 20 a side footy....

And some of us were "over-exuberant" in our celebrations!
Plymouth - In Fancy Dress getting pulled by OB on the way back doing 120 Brighton 80's Classic day out Wimbledon - Got thrown out for surging forward boy that was painful Palace this season. Blackburn - Missing the coach home One trip to Fulham - olice had us all through the underground trying to avoid the clashes between West HAm & Chels

indeed, out with a load of mates - pushing the mighty liverpool all the way - no pressure - zambucca - "we've got our Charlton back" - "wake up Monty"
Missed the Southport Weekender to go, because if I'd missed us winning at the Arse I would nver have forgiven myself.
Other than that was a 2-0 at Grimsby when they signed Ivano Bolloti/ Bellini/ Giovanni on the pitch before the game. A Kimmy Grant double, sealed the win. Was given some stick by a fat woman outside the ground for being dirty cockneys, although I did point out that because Grimsby is known for fish n chips she didnt have to eat it for brekkie, lunch and dinner.
My favourite has to be the Carlisle promotion game in 1986 which we won 3-2. Two others that jump out for me were Spurs in the FA Cup in 1985, when Aizlewood scored from a penalty save in front of our end to equalise. Addicks were going proper mental, also remember red balloons being let off in the Shelf before kick-off.
The final one would be my first 'real' away game with my mates - Ipswich in the FA Cup in 1981. They were the best team in the country at the time and we were top of Div 3.
Ric, wasn't the score 1-0 at Grimsby? I was at that game, and also have some great memories. We drove an American mate up there, and he did not know what had hit him. Superb support that day from about 500 Charlton. We also got chased down the road after the game after my mate took of his fleece to show his red shirt. Right laugh.
Being a bit of a "johnny come lately" to CharltonLife I am glad this was brought back up. Tavern don't forget I was on the Manyoo coach as well.
There are so many brilliant games for different reasons but any away game during the eighties and early nineties was always a great laugh and we had such a good tight-knit bunch that used to go everywhere. While I live out my twilight years (47 now) in sunny (?) Southampton I look back on those days with fond memories and still chuckle at some of the things we got up too and got away with.
For me Carlisle promotion with Lennie
Play Off replay and run back to the station v Leeds
Newcastle away when we come back from 3-0 down to win 4-3
Newcastle away when we won 3-0 Leaburn's first ever goal
Newcastle away 2-2 midweek with Leaburn scoring another the year we sold Rob Lee to them
being only a young'un (22 i reckon im still young!) ive been lucky enough to get to half a dozen a season for about 14 yeqars...but my top 3 are: coventry 2 cafc 3....that game will never leave me...i dont know why i just had a ridiculous amount of joy! villa 3 cafc 4....see above arsenal 2 cafc 4....that was more surreal than anything!
one of my least favs was losing 3-0 up at hillsborough the year we got relegated....as was going up to st james' only to be sent home!

1-0 win at Old Trafford 1986, Amos getting the goal, my first visit to OT.
not exactly a Charlton away game but the Fans United day when Brighton beat Hartlepool 5 - 0 was a great day
