Palace 1-0 Spurs 3-0 up early on before they got it back to 3-2 I liked the St Georges Day Norwich away trip Chelsea away when we won there a few times - the 1-0 game particularly
"also spurs away in the fa cup,1-1 1985.don't really think we could have fitted any more in there. "
Fantastic day. Spoke to Spurs fans who couldnt believe the support we took. When we scored I ended up 20 metres away from where i had been standing and my feet hadnt touched the floor. Was it Flannagan who missed the open goal (hit post) in the last minute?
Tavern - I just picked that up from your first post on this header.
I was indeed on that coach - organised by Dowman. One funny fecking day. The piss and sick bucket on the coach was a bit too much for my weak stomach ............
Agree with Rothko on the 5-1 away victory - the pleasantries getting out to the car park will always be remembered.
The victory against Millwall in the snow - I was on such a high that night that I was walking on air - fan-bloody-tastic. There is not a drug on this planet that could match that feeling.
Ipswich in the playoffs
Coventry in the FA Cup
Bradford away (lost but the curry was worth the journey)
Any trip to Newcastle cos Im normally wasted on the train up by 11am
Palace (both 1-0s) and obviously Smallwall in the snow
Yep Millwall away was a great night, all the better as they were then top and from that moment on their season went into freefall and ended in relegation.
They were all waiting for us outside that paddock Bart..... I remeber looking through at them whilst we were being held back and thinking "Yes Im f*cking cold. Yes its pissing down with snow. But Im pleased Im in here and not out there."
Got to be Palace away 99/00. Non-stop singing from start to finish "we'll never play you again" etc and drowning out the fat bird at half time..... on-loan Kitson scored in a 1-0 win for us....
To be honest i have loads more and thank you for all you chaps and ladies for your views!the millwall ones were great!i even remember in that night game travelling up from greenhithe in the freezing cold thinking my timberland jumper would keep me warm!what a fool!mind you it did turn into a blizzard!and what a game!pure derby match!back at the train station some bullies started on some Charlton lads on there own they got a pure lesson from us fellas that were on the far side of the platform that night!never liked bullies!
1905 all great games mate!went to all them ones!Brighton was pure magic!in the park and under the bridge!mind you i love going for trips there with me better half,it brings a smile to my face when i walk down the lanes with her!
My memories are all too recent, but any away win against another London club is always fantastic. Especially when it involves strolling down Tottenham High Road afterwards. And the back of the shitty old Arthur Wait stand as Dennis got it in the last minute... that'll always put a smile on my face.
Oh, and Everton a couple of years ago- when Parker's "mind wasn't in it" or something because he was under Chel$ea's spell - because I went on my own, planning to meet a mate up there, but because my journey was such a disaster that had to be knocked on the head, and I got to Goodison just before kick-off... and we won, and it was still a mare to get home, but I'd have slept on Lime Street station for that.
Being ancient I have chosed 3: My first one is FA Cup 3rd round against Spurs the year they did the double. We were 2nd Div and they were top of the 1st, I had never been in such a huge crowd and although we lost there was a moment in the 2nd half when Brian Tocknell hit a shot from distance that went just the wrong side of the post - right in front of where I was standing.
The second was Palarse 1-0, not just the result but in the 2nd half the police got a bit heavy with one or two of the Addicted and we all, including the Lass, started chanting "all police are wa*kers" and it was then I realised that my wife was converted to a full time member of the Addicted!!!!!
Finally the Everton game a couple of years ago. Unlike The Inspector we arrived into Liverpool early and met up with a work colleague and some of his Everton mates, had a few beers, they then game us a lift to the ground and even waited for us afterwards to take us back to the pub!
couple of memorable ones at hillsborogh in the eighties. one was 5-4 oss after being 3-1 up at half time. other was 4-1 loss i think simonsen got our goal. he was tiny but his goal was class. his team mates had only ever seen a player that good on the telly. he was class.
(QUOTE) "if i had to pick one game, palace away in the 1968/69 fa cup replay when we won 2-0...we had to park the car in sydenham and walk the rest of the way there was so many going to it...though, a clear second must be the 'we'll never play you again' game... "
I was there too, ltgtr, evening game at Selhurst and sliding down the muddy, mud bank terrace behind the goal when we scored our first. Couldn't wait to get to school next day and gloat.....
And next we drew Arsenal in the 4th round at Highbury, biggest crowd I'd ever been in, at the time. Our 'plucky little Charlton' dominated for long spells and Matt Tees hit the foot of the post with a diving header but we lost 2-0.
late 80's and early 90's all a bit of a blur.
remember a great night at bury. 0-0. someone who shall remain nameless chundered in his seat, and someone else who also will remain nameless went to walk out at the half time whistle because he thought it was the final whistle.
as results go, the 5-1 at ipswich with leaburns hat-trick is up there and the 4-2 at highbury.
too many to list them all.

My favourite CAFC Premiership experience bar none.
