    Yes both good!
  • West Ham away when we won 3-1, but best game was beating Leeds in the Playoff Final at St Andrews at the end of that season.

Yes that Friday night was a bit of a time warp back at New Street after!Blinding day though!
  • oh and add villa 4-3... mills' rocket and brownie in goal
  • The 5-5 at Bristol Rovers was pretty good. My car wouldn't start after the game and My brother and I came back on the team coach.

  • Leeds Play off at St Andrews for me.

But there have been a few corkers.

  • ipswich away in the play-off semi-final.
  • I think that the one I got most excited by was the 2-1 win at Leeds, when Scotty Parker scored that late solo winner to put Terry Venables' team (I have always hated Leeds) bottom of the table. I leapt up and kissed some poor bloke standing behind me right on the cheek!!
  • limkited choice because of my age but:
    Villa 4-3
    Palace 1-0
    Liverpool 1-0

I was thinking about that one as one of my favourites.

Some great banter with the Leeds fans, two great goals from Parker and I got to take my mate to Elland Road once more before he died.

I'll never forget me in my Charlton top, pushing him in his chair with his Leeds top on, with both of us verbally abusing each other before the game and him having to take some serious stick from me afterwards.

So glad I got him there again.

    Liverpool 1-0

Again that was another for me. Charlton, winning at Anfield.

    In the league.

I'd waited over thirty years for that and never thought I'd see the day.

    Thanks Shaun.
  • Man U when we got relegated that was a blinder of a day out.
  • Nice story Addickted.
  • [cite]Posted By: Tavern[/cite]Mine was Carlisle away when we won promotion to the first division!.

Twice promoted at Carlisle. Both great days, particulaly the second one with the the brilliant Jim Tolmie own goal.
  • Dennis in the last minute at Sellout was a classic Sunday evening, particularly as I lived in Sydenham which is Palar*e land at the time.

I enjoyed beating Spurs at the Lane a couple of seasons ago, that was the game that Bartlett scored twice, got sent off and we were 3-0 up and won 3-2 in the end!

The other game which sticks out is the year we beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge (1-0 I think) when Super Kev scored at the end - my memory is awful, so god knows what year it was!
  • In no particular order...

Villa away 4-3 after a lot of ups and downs

Carlisle 2-3 after being 2-0 down

Coventry away in the cup 2-3 after being 2-0 down.

I do like coming from behind........... ;-)

  • Wemberley - but I don't think it should count, I enjoyed any away win when we were at Selhurst in the old first. I was at Liverpool Uni at the time so beating Everton 1.2 in the late 80's was one of the best as I was with the Everton Supporters club before and after and met a few players as well - Pat Nevin amongst others. I remember loosing 0.2 to Liverpool midweek and not only were we robbed, they were given a penalty that wasn't and had one denied there could have been at the most 150 in the corner at Anfield Road end and still made more noise then the Kop (which was often silent despite it's reputation.

Non-CAFC games on the Kop to see WHUFC loose 5.1 and get relegated 89 or 90.
  • Red Pete I think that bloke you kissed that day may well have been me!! I have recollections of being kissed!

One of the best results for me as so many of my friends went to Leeds Uni in the 70's just becasue they supported Leeds and I had recently endured a 4-1 thumping up there.

One of Ms Lat's first away games too where she really became hooked

Addickted you were on prawn sarnies weren't you for the 1-0 at L'Pool another great result ;)

Also a favourite for me was the 4-0 at Norwich in the play off season when super Clive got a Hat trick
  • [cite]Posted By: Stone[/cite]In no particular order...

Coventry away in the cup 2-3 after being 2-0 down.

How could I have forgotten that one.

I was just looking forward to a good day out, but 20 mins into the game I was ready to kill someone.

I still remember how crap Andy Todd was in that game, but what a coneback and what noise (and ballons) from the Addickted.

  • [cite]Posted By: Latimer[/cite]One of Ms Lat's first away games too where she really became hooked

Addickted you were on prawn sarnies weren't you for the 1-0 at L'Pool another great result ;)

She became hooked because I gave her a peck on the cheek pre match. Didn't she have a pound of Parker to score first/last as well?

I was prawn sandwiching it for the 2-0 defeat at Anfield on Murphy's return. God I had a few that day. "How would you like your coffee Mr Addickted; Red or White?"
  • [cite]Posted By: badger[/cite]wolves 3 charlton 0 F.A.CUP great atmosphere,fantastic away support.

I remember Salsa from this fair board shoving a burger full in the face of a Wolves fan who invaded our coach.

Shame to think she's a veggie now.
  • Reading 2-2 Elm Park Great David Whyte equaliser,Sitting in main stand with friend and went ballistic, top drawer.
    Get In!
  • if i had to pick one game, palace away in the 1968/69 fa cup replay when we won 2-0...we had to park the car in sydenham and walk the rest of the way there was so many going to it...though, a clear second must be the 'we'll never play you again' game...
  • Addickted you were on prawn sarnies weren't you for the 1-0 at L'Pool another great result ;)
