  • Their podcast might be worth a go. The early Soccer AM shows were good for while and had some memorable moments like Charlie George back healing a penalty, Brian Blessed being Brian Blessed, the laddie bants  but I doubt they can recreate the early freshness of the show.
And they will never have a moment like the Charlton Soccerette, really need pictures for that. ;)
  • That's a great interview - the fact that Ben Shepperd was clearly a massive fan shines through. I wish it had been longer.

agreed, Ben was in his element and could've chatted for ages by the looks of it.

my favourite programme back in the day, watched it religiously on a Saturday morning and then spent half the pre-game pub chat talking about it
  • The podcast is a good laugh but underlines for me that Sheephead was the real star of the show.

Was going to say that, only watched the first show and thought he was the star.

Why do people wear glasses like that? They look like part of a fancy dress outfit.
    Latest wanky fashion.
Probably why they have to wear glasses, it makes them go blind.

Really enjoyed it until like everything it became stale. I think an issue was the format. People like a format, they like to know what is coming but it also makes the show look tired after a while when the same things are coming. I'm getting that with Taskmaster lately and don't get me started on Ant and Dec's SNT which annoyed me it was allowed to continue for so long. I suppose those two could eat babies on air and some people would enjoy their show. Not the fault of the show and things like the fans shooting comps would still work and maybe should have evolved into something else. Maybe a show which has fans competing against each other directly with a bit of comedy thrown in.

There are some limits, those Santander ads for example!

New one out is very funny so far, I’m only 10 minutes in and laughing more than I’ve laughed at a podcast in a long time.

National Cat Awards chat is brilliant - Tubes cackling in the background
