  • Whether we sign him or not isn't just going to be down to cash. It'll be about where he wants to locate to, whether he likes the manager, what impressed him etc. I would think we could outbid most on the wages but we are a business with very finite assets so we are unlikely to be offering silly money. It'll be in the same ball park as the other highest bidders. Then it'll be down to his gut feel
  • I don't want to seem like even more of a pedant than usual (Lord knows I come across that way most of the time anyway) but is there even a slight possibility that we could start calling this geezer by his real name?

    Stop talking sense Bing.

I want to rant at the club for not signing the players I think they should and when and if I become unhaappy I want to blame Pardew and imply that he's been sitting around scratching his backside doing f**k all.............;-)
  • who are all these ranters and ravers Dan and Rothko speak of wanting to give the club a kicking, because i haven't seen any on here ?
  • Good point Smudge...I must be getting confused with other MBs
  • Who cares if we do or dont sign him, if we dont know doubt there will be another rumour surfacing 24 hours later linking us with another player, the reality is all the players are away on there holidays at the moment and nothing will be decieded in terms of movement until the first week of July when players are available on frees, and they have a year left on there current contract and clubs may look to move them on now rather than get nothing for them next summer, who would have thought this time last year we were signing players such as Weaver Toddy and Paddy, one thing i hate abouth te close season is therumour mill going into over drive so boring i bet if it was analysied in September a very low percentage of rumours accutally came off.

that's exactly why i'm running that thread including every player the media links us with, as it will be fun to look at in September and see how 90% of it was rubbish.

  • Dont just do it on us do it on all clubs this will then embaress the media. Amazing how the Sunday redtops when they run an exclusive from three years ago and then when the player finally signs the back page splash "WE TOLD YOU FIRST" yea but what about the other 1000 stories you have got wrong

"Blackpool Vital has been informed that talismatic Irish left winger Wes Hoolahan has today joined Norwich City on a three year deal."
  • I hear Pards has gone Cool on Hoolihan now so we may indeed be out of the running.
  • He's not a big enough gamble for Pards, I guess. After all, he's a proven performer at Chamionship level. ;-)
  • Weegie ....... behave! ;o)
  • Why, Oggy? There's no fun in behaving ... :-)
  • Agreed, hehe ;o)

Quick, back on topic before AFKA notices ...... now this Wes Hooligan, who's he signing for?

    ;o)

  • one season the in the championship doesn't make you a proven championship player does it.

let's not get our knickers in a twist over a player who was plied his trade in the lower leagues for all of his career.

He's only been at Blackpool for 2 years and hasn't exactly done badly
  • I cant wait to Boo him, whatever his name is..................Boooooooooooooooo
  • He still hasn't signed for Norwich as far as I'm aware...
  • Yes, it's certainly "All gone quite over there."
All sorts of noises being made a week or two back, just goes to show, you shouldn't believe the hype.
  • the Norwich thing was a wind up i believe.
  • Norwich local paper says that there is some problem with FIFA due to his loan from Livingston, plus, more importantly, QPR are after him. (Mind you they've been linked with every available player)

    QPR interested
  • It's just a smokescreen. Pard's holds his cards close to his chest .......

I'm sure AFKA's network has already confided to him that the player was undertaking a medical at Sparrows Lane on Friday.

    ;o)
  • If true then I think we have let a good player get away for what I consider to be a very low fee. Maybe we tried and he prefers Norwich ? It could of course mean we have other targets we prefer or Pards thinks his midfield will be ok this season with Racon and Shelvey.
