  • And, dreamboy, I seem to remember during that Premier League season, Barnsley had their own resident poet - who immortalised specific games and the players, incidents, goals etc., in verse.

    He was quite a celebrity.
  • Yes this is our club poet.........

Yeah the Brazil thing started like that. We were always one for irony that season. Like singing "we're going to win 8-7" at Man Utd and similar songs away at Arsenal and home to Chelsea. Not Liverpool who we beat at Anfield though with a clean sheet to boot. Anyone know of good links to pictures from yesterday? I've seen one link, but there's only one of the away end on and i'm disapointed i'm not on it haha. Thank you.
  • I hate to contradict your view of the game Dreamboy but the following is the BBC's report.

I think you'll find we did miss "a hatful of chances", and both managers comments are pretty fair, I think. Barnsley played well, and we found you difficult to break down especially in the first half. We created enough chances in the second to win by two or three but we were vulnerable at one nil and so it proved. You've got a decent side including a giant of a keeper. I think it's fair to say though, as your manager acknowledge, that you were happy with the point which he would have taken before the start.
  • no where near 800 there,my first thought looking over at you was 300 tops, well played anyway.
  • Good to have proper football banter with another club's supporter. Cheers, dreamboy!
  • dreamboy did you see a half cut bloke pretending to throw horse shit at your coaches after the game that was i ;-)
  • Haha no I didn't. Shame because it sounds like fun. Glad the coaches parked outside the away end and not where they dropped us off from. SE7 had a nice row of coaches outside the ground. Surprised we took so many. Infact on the way home we past the Swansea City players coach from Leyton Orient. The coach was posh and they took in good jest us pointing at them and singing "who are ya" because of our play off situation a few years ago lol.
