Lots of positives to take from a game we were the better team in.
Finishing isn’t one of them. Is Godden the answer?
are we allowed to be worried about Kelman yet?
I’m worried about every striker, not one of them has looked good.
    Fair point
  • We certainly need to start taking more of our opportunities otherwise it will be a very difficult season.
  • Docherty and Coventry had poor games…Carey was poor and other than scoring so was Apter. We are a bit naive…QPR shirt pulling and snide fouls let go by the ref. Set pieces were shit and beaten by a very skillful player with a touch of class again.
  • Giving the first team the first half of the week was probably not a good idea.
  • Still a lot of positives to take .. and until Campbell mistake we were the team that would have won that game … if we were playing badly getting beaten of the park then there would be call for concern but we are not .. but I do think it’s time to ditch the Campbell experiment he has to be dropped now .. Kelman and Olaofe giving a chance to form a partnership and Knibbs also in the line up .. play Apter as an out an out winger .. time for change ….while we are playing well instead of waiting till our form dips

  • Looked weaker when the subs came on which is a worry.
Still a new side that are learning each others game.
Jones will always set up to keep things at 0-0 for as long as possible and hope to sneak a winner. Fine if we don't go a goal down first, which is a lot less likely at this level.
    He'll have to find answers.
  • Very disappointed but we don’t appear to have any real threat up front. Apart from the obvious lack of quality in crossing we did not drive forward. I’m starting to get somewhat concerned regarding Kelman and Knibbs. The were both anonymous this afternoon again and I can only recall the free kick that was awarded to Kelman as he’s contribution for being on the pitch.
I don’t want to start picking on players as its far too early to do so but the question is are we playing to his strengths or is it the hoof football thats not to his liking?

I feel like today highlights how you need to bag results when your performances are good. Thought today was our weakest so far, but not an embarrassment by any stretch.. it makes not picking up points in the previous game more frustrating.

It's still early in the season, I'm just a little concerned that we're looking like a team that huffs and puffs, is hard to play against but ultimately doesn't have the quality to put games to bed and give ourselves the advantage.

All fine margins, if Leaburns effort that hit the crossbar goes in then we're probably looking at a completely different result. Just so frustrating it's not quite landing.
  • They’re seriously can’t be any excuses. This is the championship, other teams don’t care that we’re “still gelling” or that someone is struggling to adapt. We’ve not been good enough for the level plain and simple. We’ve have two weeks to change that before arguably the biggest game of our season. NJ needs to make it happen

Staring down the barrel of 3 losses on the spin, before heading to Bramall Lane!

This squad has nothing but relegation dogfight written all over it.
played well in the first three, but absolutely toothless upfront and we continue to make piss poor decisions/judgements that just cost us over and over. Actually worrying that we have now given ourselves a day & a half to try and rectify.

Godden a huge miss, but again our style of play just doesnt suit the strikers we play - lumping it to a sluggish leaburn or tiny Rapter isnt going to cut the mustard - TC bombing down the wing seems a thing of the past, as he is consistently trying to cut in and adamant not to drive forward into space. He HAS to be on the bench as a game changer.

Ramsey looks a shadow of his former self, Bell becoming more and more frustrating as his MO seems to be over playing and aimless long balls. Jones thankfully continuing from last season - time for Burke to replace Bell?

Midfield is still exceptionally overrun and lacking any guile - Coventry doing well, but vast waves of space still. One up top simply not working, just as it didnt work last season!

Very Worrying, as i see nothing to suggest that either a rot wont set it, nor do we have the ability to 'stop the rot'

    you
Cant plan for individual errors last week Edwards today Campbell both resulted in the killer goal …. Our performances are good ands that the important thing … players keep believing it will click but we do need to tweak the system and line up

This is a little over dramatic I think when you consider how bad we were before Christmas last year then nearly finished second.

Yea it’s bad but we’re 4 games in
problem is, you can afford to be that bad in league one, and not slide down the league. Championship is a whole different ball game!
Simply cannot afford to be going 5/6 games without a win, as there are no 'weak teams' in this league who will equally do the same if not worse.

We have to face it that we are in the second tier now, and cannot continue with a L1 mindset or approach to games and runs.
  • Once again undone by a moment of sheer quality from a player clearly a cut above. But that’s the league we’re in now. No real killer instinct, even apter’s goal was a bit of a limp finish. Once again should’ve got at least a point out of that performance.

Kelman, Rankin-Costello, Knibbs and Olaofe were not brought in to be fringe players were they? Changes needed for the next game.

And we have got to find a way to drastically improve our set piece delivery. It must be the worst in the whole of the EFL!
Totally agree . NJ’s loyalty to certain players could be our downfall. Knibbs , Kelman or Tanto are never going to get up to speed playing 15 minutes chasing the game every week.  .
  • Jones got it wrong again substitutes too fucking late sort it out
  • Final third of the pitch is where we lost it over the 90 minutes. No wonder goals today just normal boring taking the chances when they come. We need to be more accurate with the crosses into the area and little more sharper up front. I thought we were shading it for large parts of the game but the score line says it all. They took their limited chances and we didn’t create or take ours.

Knibbs and Olaofe need to start.  They should be ready to by now and we'll see if they are actually any good over 90 (60?) minutes or not.  Otherwise you can only consider that in training it's become apparent we've had our pants pulled down.  Ditto Kelman.  Get him starting and they can either shit or get off the pot.

Some appalling (attempted) crossing into the box today, I was still cursing out Apter for a terrible attempted punt into the box when he put it in.  And if I'm being honest, I think he totally mis-kicked that and got lucky with the bounce.

Doc looked good today, but seemed a bit knackered by the end.  Doing all the "dirty" work when needed.  Edwards (and I'm a big fan) not having his best day tbh.  Jones immense again, the amount of work he does, something is going to slip through at some point.  Ramsay also working hard all be it with a couple of little slips today.

Kaminski ... well he's a bit better than Mannion I think, but I feel like he should have done a bit better for the second, he was in totally the wrong place .... maybe thats harsh.
