Blackpool's record of events is correct - we were in that pub before the game and i walked past it after on my way to a party in a hotel on the way to waterloo - my wife has worked in the natwest at borough market for over 20 years now, including a lot of saturdays and could tell you a different story about your 'element' avoiding the area
Total rubbish. I have a family member who passes through the borough for every single home game (bar midweek games) and he says there’s never any of our ‘hooligan element’ (or whatever you want to call it) around there. For the reasons mentioned above. Apparently London Bridge and the Borough has more CCTV than any other part of London. I don’t know how true that is but it’s certainly well watched as it’s very touristy around there now. Why would our thugs go and cause trouble there knowing they’re going to be filmed and subsequently arrested? Which is exactly what happened to those Charlton fans on the Bunch of Grapes which sort of proves my point. It is the area away fans are advised to go to if they want a pre match pint. So sorry mate, I’ll say it again, total rubbish.
You can never say never. I'd suggest what you are saying is total rubbish.
Do you know the area? Do you ever pass through the area on a match day? Im sure you do but if you don’t then I would highly recommend it. It’s great for a pre or post match pint and a bit of street food from the market. All the away day guides recommend it for games at Millwall. Go there before the game at ours later in the season, you’ll see what I’m on about. You’ll see Millwall fans passing through, but I highly doubt you’ll see any thugs roaming around looking for a row. As I said before, I drive most of the time but on the few occasions I train it (probably 3 or 4 times a season) I always get out at London Bridge for a bite and a drink at the borough. Never a seen our ‘element’ there. Not in the last ten years or so at least anyway.
My warm spanner chum, please don't be offended but you're getting on the defensive now.
Of course I'm familiar with the area but drinking there is out of my price range, the Woolwich boozers work for me.
With all due respect, your family member saying there's NEVER any of your geezers there has to be cobblers.

I’d say it’s close to never. For the reasons mentioned. The thing these people fear the most is getting arrested. Gone are the days when you get a fine and a slap on the wrist. It’s serious jail time these days. London Bridge and the Borough are far too risky on that front. Cameras everywhere.
Anyway, enough of that old bollocks. Just a week now. Buzzing for it. Love a local derby 😁

Blimey Elfs you're in Brazil! You make it sound like you live in Woolwich.

I think the context is that for non football people or those not following the specific match all groups of loud supporters can look intimidating.
I think the relative difference between hardcore hooligans and loud / bit drunk supporters is lost on many.
Supporters don’t see themselves as others see them.
