  • You've become far too lenient in retirement Mr Munro - standards must be maintained!
  • Seats now available on four Valley Express routes.
  • Will this be the first game when two brothers have been on opposing sides for charlton e.g the mitchell brothers zach and billy likely to be in the match day squads?

I'd be surprised if Zac Mitchell is in the sqaud given the signing of Bree and Burke now being fit
  • In good news for our tame Spanners on here, and who i am sure have secret and latent trainspotting proclivities after years on CL, the local council are just about to approve a new overground station next to the Toolbox.  So, fill your boots MF and co.
Are they planning to knock it down and build a shopping centre or new flats there ? Doesn’t make sense for a small ground and smaller average use for 23+ days a year otherwise

How can he get a loan outside of the transfer window?
  • @Weegie Addick @castrust  would you proactively ask the club about the policing arrangements for after the game? Head them off at the pass before the final pre-match meeting of all the "relevant authorities"?
We did this after a member’s query a little while back. Thanks for prompting us to share more widely.

Here is the full response from club SLO:

“I have spoken to the relevant people at the club who want to assure you that we will not be holding back home fans like what happened in 2017. This was done for a serious matter, but we will not be doing this again. The club are working closely with the police who are working externally during the event.

Despite ownership changes, rest assured that all club staff are aware of the issues this fixture has caused in the past. The staff that work for the club full-time, and on matchdays, are all well-versed in how best to approach and work this game.

I hope that this helps solve any concerns. Ultimately, any out of the ordinary decisions that are made around the day, will only come from external recommendations of the police, but we are all working hard to ensure that the Millwall game is enjoyable and safe for all fans.”
The game that had us all going up Charlton Lane was 2013 not 2017.

What happened in 2017 that the trust felt the need to raise?

This!  That 4-0 game back in 2010. Loads of Charlton leaving when the 3rd went in straight after the 2nd and then me following when the 4th went in 5 minutes later.

Got outside to find several hundred Charlton penned in by the police with the gates locked. Still 20 minutes to go, the cops had a chance to get most of the Charlton fans away, into London Bridge and probably back out on the way home before the game even finished.  I put this to one of the cops whose response was that the decision to keep Charlton fans back had been taken the day before. No one on the ground was able to use common sense and deal with a situation of half the away fans trying to leave 20/25 mins before the end.
If anyone fancies a little trip down memory lane here’s the highlights to that game. Here to help 🙏🏼….

Dear lord that defending , I’d forgotten had bad it was .
I only shared it as a joke. Didn’t expect anyone to actually watch it lol.

I don’t think the football is great from both sides to be honest.

Billy Mitchell one of our many first team regulars who is out injured. Not expected back until late September
  • I see the comms team is getting into the spirit and offering family bundles for the match…

    Over 21k sold just released
That would imply 6k tickets still available. ????

some of the East and West stand blocks look like they will start fading out today, if not by lunchtime, but quickly glancing at the availability and 21k sold would only seem to make sense (if that really is true) if it only refers to home fans. The big worry then is, if my approach is better (and it may well be totally flawed), is whether the person counting the tickets is also checking how many pints of Peroni the club has in stock and how many it needs to order.
It may only seem to make sense to you, but to everyone else the 21,000 ticket sales includes Millwall fans.

In the words of the late great Tommy Cooper - ‘just like that …’ !!!

So that would mean there are 6k tickets still available for sale ???

That doesn’t seem to fit with the number of seats still in red on the ticket map and looks to be around twice the number that shows as available to purchase

I had a 10 minute count up 2 days ago, after 20,000 sales were announced.
I counted approx 7,000 empty home seats.
4,000 in The Curbishley Stand and 3,000 in the West Stand.

You are only supposed to count the ones in red…

It's going to be a very different area once they've finished that and the Canada Water project
