Not really his style but I think Jones needs to be calm with them at half time. Saturday was a bizarre disaster and it's clearly hanging over this team still. Something like this always happens, a team carries momentum up to the new division and then something happens, be it injuries, a key player leaving, a falling out etc or if you're lucky just the season ending, and then things revert back to the mean. The reality is that we've got a side out where there's no recognised left back, we have a centre half who just isn't really cut out for this level, and the striker we brought in to press and harry is out which means a style change in attack. The Saints game came at the worst possible time and now there's a hangover when we play another former Jones team who are in their best form in years and years. This second half has to be about the players losing the jitters. Jones, Gillesphey and Ramsay need to stop looking terrified any time the ball gets near them because that's clearly passed on to the keeper as well. We need to pull back on the high press because Coventry is getting overrun on the counter and just slow down and try and build something up. If we can get through this playing with a bit of calm and dignity and try and get Bell back for next game then I think we'll be ok, but if these players come back out as shellshocked as they ended the half then it'll be a long, long night and I'll fear for Saturday.15

I dont know, maybe use the second half to find a working formation and personnel to get us through the next few games, get burke back and give Jones some proper rest, Gough JRC on etc.

Probably a bit of both.Dazzler21 said:Have we be found out or are we just going through a sour patch?
The initial early season momentum / ultra confidence has worn off, injuries have kicked in, luck is out.
We are 3 0 down and two of the goals weren’t shots. It’s clearly a difficult time and Saturday will likely be another challenging one, but overreacting is the last thing we need at moment and a fast track to implosion17 -
My biggest concern is over the last 5-6 games I really struggle to see what our style of play is, we just lump the ball forward and cross our fingers 45 times a game it’s really tiresome to watch.7

If Kaminski had some fucking bollocks and come off his line for once, that third goal thumble doesn’t happen! Time to get Mannion back in for me! He’s a great shot stopper but he is not commanding enough!3

Looks like I picked the wrong week to give up methamphetamine19

I have no problem with involving Kaminski for the third but unless he gave Ramsay a call, which none of us know happened, Ramsay ducked out of the header, Ramsay did the same on Saturday, this time he dropped deeper than any of his back line and ducked out of the header. As for the first, it's a fluke and you would have to be some keeper to realise what was going to happen there. They are a good side but we are not retaining the ball and they, like Southampton, move the ball well. I think Nathan will have to make changes, whether he wants to or not, we have another game against the best this division has on Saturday.1

Agree with all the transfer stuff above. All that money spent and the only 2 players that have been consistently good are freebies.2

First goal complete fluke so straight away your on the back foot .. second was a clear foul on jones in the centre circle …the ref been awful all
first half .. then Ramsey complete misses his header … constant changing of system does not help ….. once again questions about Leaburn and Campbell … it took Campbell 25 mins to touch the ball .. there not pressing not defending from the front and the ball just keeps coming back at our defenders … …

Well, no matter what happens tonight gang, we'll always have this:

Not starting tanto is criminal1

We miss Bell Edwards and Kelman …6

I know it’s not exactly ideal but do we have any U23 left backs that could at least come in and do a job for a month or so?1
-
Thinking about it, Kaminski is caught off his line for the first goal which I think makes him hesitant for the third. It’s a massive over correction which causes an error1

This is a worrying collapse but I'm resigned to losing a lot of games in this league. Hopefully NJ can stop the rot, and January isn't far off.

Thought I'd pop back just to wind a few of you up. Is easily done tbf 😂
Its hard enough when the chips are down without a fully grown adult being so OTT and silly to wind up others.2 -

We were going to slow down and have a bad patch at some point. Especially with the injury situation.
It started at Wrexham with a stupid pen from a fifth choice left back giving away a hard fought point.
Then we come up against Southampton who sacked their manager and btw are 3-0 up on Leicester at half time now too.
Follow that up today with their bloke scoring twice from crosses.
Oh, and it’s Coventry away on Saturday. It’s all fallen in on us at the same time. That’s what it’s all about following Charlton Athletic.13 -
We’re well clear of the bottom 3 thanks to a great start to the season. This dip in form was always going to come. Doesn’t make it any less worrying. There are much worse teams in this league. Staying up still the priority10

We do Ronnie, we are constantly receiving the ball and giving it back as we have no one running off defenders to create space.RonnieMoore said:We miss Bell Edwards and Kelman …0 -
Post match thread will be fun.
Think I'll give it a miss4 -
We just look terrible - zero attacking threat and defence has just gone awol. The Coventry game will be interesting....0

Still believe the money we spent on Apter would have been better getting in Caleb Taylor to strengthen the defense.2
