Wow... Iraq have a penalty in the 14th minute of stoppage time!!

Edit: 2-1 (3-2) to Iraq with minutes to play

They're into the 106th minute it took ages to decide... So god knows how long is actually left.
  • Nope... Unsurprisingly there was no time to play, the penalty was the last kick of the game, so Iraq go on to the Intercontinental Playoffs
  • Based on how things currently stand the seeded Play-Off teams would be Panama and Iraq

Of course we still need to wait for the last two CONCACAF teams, and the updated FIFA Rankings.

Maximum points and no goals conceded is pretty impressive qualifying
Which is why I dont get all this hullabaloo over Ireland (both of them), Scotland & Wales. They are all celebrating like they've won the bloody thing but all they've done is get into the play offs.

I'll raise a toast if any of them actually quality for the WC.
I don't get the instant desire to "belittle" a team from celebrating these days, when they've not "achieved anything"

Seems a general thing these days from many Football fans - i.e. Remember both Sunderland and Orient mocking our pitch invasions when we got to Wembley in 2019 and this year... So bloody what... With so much shit we all have to put up with in the world these days, what's wrong with celebrating the small victories when they come along?

In respect to the Republic of Ireland / Northern Ireland, both teams were ranked "3rd" in their Groups ahead of Qualifying. Neither team were expected to even make the Second Round so are celebrating making it to the next stage...?

Just because some people like you go through life f**king miserable Golfie, doesnt mean everyone has to!! - Whatever f**king next, a Non-League team shouldn't celebrate beating a League side in the FA Cup, because they've not won the trophy yet?

Really shouldn't feed the trolls at times... But god they come up with some absolute low effort shite
Agreed success is relative and not all about trophy’s.

Bosnia take the lead in Vienna and would qualify as it stands.

They're already eliminated... San Marino can't get into the Play-Offs now

Wales or Macedonia, Romania, Sweden and Northern Ireland are the four best teams from the Nations League

Probably hasn't caught up, as Romania would have been in with a shout of second had they not been beaten by Bosnia over the weekend... Had they achieved that then Moldova would have taken their place from the Nation League performances - Had Northern Ireland finished in the top two as well, thats how San Marino would have gotten in.

Shame actually, as Northern Ireland would have finished second in their Group, but they lost 1-0 to Slovakia (91st minute winner) on Friday - A draw or a win would have done it for them... Didnt really matter for them though, as they're still in the Play-Offs

Surprised that was disallowed. Think Denmark are playing pretty well, carving out a few chances, can’t see them not scoring.
  • I've no idea how to check if this is true, but I've just seen on social media that the Iraqi player who scored their two goals and knocked out UAE plays his club football in the UAE league.
  • Wales currently 2-1 up over North Macedonia

Doesnt really matter in some ways as both teams are already in the Play-Offs, the only downside is the loser get in via. the Nations League route, so will be in Pot 4 at best, whereas I imagine Wales could end up being in one of the two seeded pots if they finish second in the Group.

Well for starters, Iraq had two different scorers in the match, unless he sneakily changed his name...  ;) - The guy who scored the first goal does play in the UAE, the one who scored the winner plays in Poland.

Qualifying via the Nations League means a 1 in 4 chance of the first playoff game being Italy away. That's worth trying to avoid.

Turkey score against Spain. Means England will be the only team to qualify without conceding.

    Wales 3-1 up at HT

Impressive actually, as Macedonia had only conceded three goals in their Qualifying campaign up until tonight.

I must watch a different game to the pundits. No way was the first Welsh goal a pen. Brookes tripped himself up. I see this all the time & I'm sure players practice it in training. Watch Brookes as he runs into the box. As the defender goes to cross his path Brookes deliberately kicks his own shin, thus tripping himself up.

Bonkers they allowed it. More bonkers the pundits dont call it out.
