Watching on the stream it seems the home crowd were as confused as everybody else and watching the playbacks,   the ref is playing on. Not even bothering to wave play on in the face of appeals, because there werent any. So he obviously gets a message from the lino, or possibly the 4th official. Well as Nj has said, OH gave them a decision to make and he’s playing out of position too.

But by all accounts here ( stream doesn’t pick it up) there was an offside which the lino missed, and thats his main job. And i can guarantee you that at least 3x per match Terry Smith will ask why the linesman hasn’t helped out a ref who was unsighted. It does seem like they’ve been told to keep out of it, unless…well what exactly? At the least we deserve to know.

Anyway I am just pissed off. That was heading inexorably for 0-0 until OH waved his hand.

Can people stop complaining about the penalty decision please?
They got it right. The “It must’ve been guesswork, they can’t have been sure” argument is a crock of shit.
Like everyone else, I didn’t see it first time, but someone on the refereeing team did. You can’t blame them for that.

If you’re going to blame anyone, blame Onel.
Yes because we seem to like a scapegoat, it was a fuc*^g mistake that happens in football, we had chances and didn’t score so at best we would have been 1pt better off. Try supporting the team instead of looking to blame people. We are 2pts off playoffs FFS.
You need another symbol in there mate, to make up the K I and N
lol, spelling wasn’t always my strong suit, especially swear words!!

Gutted to lose a game in this manner but over the years we have struggled to get results here. We should have had it wrapped up in the first half. If you don’t score when the chances come it’s pretty much inevitable and obvious you’ll struggle to win games. 2nd half was one to forget, we didn’t do much apart from a header near the end which their keeper made a good save. Still thought we were good for a point.
Today proved to me not all referees need to go to specsavers, I didn’t see that handball despite watching 3 replays. Bloody annoying to way to lose especially when there was no need to jump with hands raised and probably could have let the ball go and then defend the next phase.

The good news is that was my second away game this season, the other being QPR.  I’m not eyeing any other away fixtures up until possibly Watford on Easter Monday

Better side first half. Knibbs has to score that chance.

2nd half was all them but we were ok until the penalty. From the away end it looked like Hernandez had headed it away. No one appealed for it including their crowd. However have seen the replay now so fair play to the officials

Wrexham’s keeper was man of the match. 3 excellent saves with his best that one at the depth from Berry

Leaburn got injured in the warm up and was holding his calf according to the young lad next to me. Josh Laq was then on the bench and seen warming up at halftime

Jones did not appear to be happy when asked about Leaburn on the pod I have listened to on the way back

We have to cut out these stupid errors,Hernandez today,Ramsey,Millwall and Gillespey against hull, points needlessly thrown away, which we could well need come April. We are doing great, but are spoiling it with these situations.

I think the major blame for today was Jones as in the manager and his management team. His selection and substitution's were wrong. His admission that Bree couldn't take any kicks really doesn't say much about Apter and especially Costello and gives them a poor message as well. If they can't get in front of an injured player doesn't bode well for either of them. What has been achieved so far (to be 9th) is really great and Jones has plenty of credit for what has been achieved but our set up especially in midfield the last 4/5 games has been wrong. We dont retain possesion and have no real incisive passers. We can't expect to keep using our get out of jail card in Carey or Berry especially as we have misfiring forwards (3 goals) as well.

The only thing Jones got wrong today was starting Bree if he had a groin injury and couldn’t kick the ball when we have 2 alternatives sat on the bench. He can’t help Knibbs missing a sitter, Hernandez making a mistake that anyone on this forum wouldnt have made, and Okonkwo deciding to become superman for 3 saves.

This is Nathan Jones football, keep it tight make sure you take your chances and don’t mess up at the back, 9/10 times u replay that game today we come back with at least a point

Just watched NJ’s interview and I understand why Jones and Ramsay played because they have no cover but I don’t understand why Bree played if he can’t take kicks at the moment which is the very reason why he’s keeping Apter out of the starting lineup.

Should have scored in the first half with Knibbs. But other than that can't complain about the result. Thought our passing and control was poor all game and attack was just so slow. They looked like they were a bit makeshift and tired. International break has come at a good time.

The Bree and Apter thing is bizarre if Apter is fit. Noticed Apter didn’t clap the fans either when singing his name as he came into the tunnel pre game, probably nothing in it but strange situation.

Especially as for most of the game, Carey was playing as an engine room midfielder, instead of his usual attacking position. Even later on, he was taking deep free kicks instead of being around the box, waiting for knockdowns.

Just got done reading Cawley’s interview with NJ apparently he didn’t bring Apter on because it would have left only 3 natural defenders on the pitch.

Just seen the highlights. Neither the ref nor the linesman reacted to the "penalty". Look at the lino....he doesn't flag at all.

Are games now being reffed by the 4th official  ???  NJ or the club need to ask questions. It's not even VAR. It's a guy standing 50 yards away ffs !

Shame cause we deserved  a point ... Olaofe and Knibbs done their best ... transfer whisper going round we are looking to bring in WHU midfielder James Ward Prowse on loan in January
    We deserved nothing.

I hope that is not the "best" of Olaofe and Knibbs. They were both piss poor.  If it is, I don't want them near the first team. Actually, I believe both can do a lot better.

I have been thinking about JWP for months. If physically fit, he could be magic in the Championship. A great passer and dead-ball kicker. Or does he have an underlying physical problem? And where would we play him? Instead of Docherty? He would fit better in Coventry's position, but that would not be popular.

He was terrible defensively but Kabore is a tough opponent and he’s not a defender, so that’s not his fault.

Didn't really turn up and looked full out of ideas.
Jones Kayne, Kammy and maybe Cov only ones to really come out with any credit.
Left hand side a bit of a problem now.
Gilesphey was shocking and I don't think Bree's been great the last few games
Think Tanto deserves a mention. Run his socks off and worked himself into good situations though having little to no service and having to compete in the air against 3 lumps whilst winning his fair share of headers.

The worst stewarding I have ever seen tonight.

A beer was thrown into the away end and things kicked off. The stewards were only interested in speaking to the Charlton fans and did absolutely nothing to the Wrexham fans. They even asked a Charlton fan, who was completely uninvolved (other than getting covered in beer) to leave the ground. He refused and, after protests from Charlton fans around him, they dropped it.

A Wrexham fan then began throwing hard projectiles into the away end, one of which hit me in the head. This was reported to the stewards, who decided that doing absolutely nothing and allowing the guy to continue was the correct course of action.

Post-match, I asked another steward if I could speak to the Stadium Safety Officer and was given a load of abuse. It's up to the police to deal with now.
That’s awful. How is your head? Worth contacting Charlton too (as well as the police). Modern football grounds have CCTV everywhere so hopefully the culprit can be identified, utterly ridiculous behaviour.
    My head is fine, thanks.

I am not sure what Charlton could do, but I also plan on contacting Wrexham to see how they will handle both it and the awful response from the stewards.

However, I won't hold my breath as complaints about stewards tend not to go anywhere with clubs. I am aware of several complaints being made against Stockport County's stewards last season for assaulting both Barnsley and Birmingham fans, almost causing a crush at Blackpool and harassing and threatening several Charlton fans. Stockport denied all incidents took place, despite video evidence, and that was that.

Is there any video footage of the build-up to the handball as it looked offside to me and several others inside the ground.
I was right by this when it happened. I think a drink was lobbed  from the Charlton end  first but this was behind me and only seen peripherally. However, a Wrexham fan threw a drink right to my side into our crowd and was observed by all their stewards. He was wearing a black cap and t shirt and one of our fans asked why he wasn't chucked out. Their head steward came and tried to start talking about how they would check it on cctv which was obviously a cop out as all their stewards were facing the guy when he threw it. I think a young girl in our end was upset by it ,as I heard the man saying to the steward it was her first away game and she was 17.

Yeah, I thought he did alright considering he's not a natural defender.

    🤔🤔🤔

they battered us second half mate and we barely set foot into their half. I’d say 5 or 6/10 times we’d lose that, 3/4 we might have got the draw and 1 we nick the win.

JWP on loan seriously???? No chance we could afford even 20% of his wages and I'm sure Southampton would be ahead of us in the queue if he was available.

PWR. Having read NJ’s quotes after the game it sounds like we done as well as we could. Lloydy and Ramsay ill for days, Bree carrying an injury, Miles injured too. His explanation of not playing Apter makes perfect sense too. Add in Burke and Bell out too and defensively we are depleted. Up front the on,y fit player was Tanto. Nice to hear NJ thinking along the same lines as me regarding Hernandez, he’s not a full back, not a defender, he finds himself in an unnatural position on the pitch out of necessity.

This two week break has come at the right time. Close the training ground for a few days so the sickness bug doesn’t spread, give the players a break and hopefully they can return in five days or so refreshed and raring to go again. If we can get a few of the walking wounded fit too, great.

We are in a good place, better than where most expected, but we have a tricky set of fixtures between now and Xmas. We need a fit squad and everyone to be at it.

Is Wrexham our new Milwall - in terms of our inability to win against them? We've only played them three times in recent years but they just have that feeling about them
