                                  Kaminski

             Ramsay         Jones           Gillesphey

    Apter      Docherty       Coventry        Carey       Bree

                              Kelman              Tanto

Would be the team I'd be most comfortable with tomorrow night (presuming he'll do what he did at Ipswich and swap Tanto for TC). Appreciate the irony of what I'm about to say with having Apter at RWB but the LWB is a huge risk for either TC or Fullah to play there as attacking players and don't want to knock any confidence. Hernandez is also no where near fit enough to start there. Bree is quality and seems sensible enough to be able to make the switch over.

(Edit - Coventry and Doc obviously behind Carey but I couldn't be arsed to make another row)

Don't lose and hopefully win,  let's have a clean sheet win,  1-0 any bugger will do for the goal.

Stop the free hit nonsense, it is embarrassing.

They seem down and out but can't rest on our laurels and need to go for the jugular.

Would start Tanto and Kelman if we play the same formation (Can drop him after getting his first goal, needs momentum now!). If we need to change formation then id like to see a front 3 of TC, Kelman, Tanto. Plenty of pace and directness.

I would do this but I think TC has to start instead of Tanto. We don’t have a LWB so we need TC to play and give us an outlet and some threat from the left

Could maybe see us going 4-2-3-1 like we finished on Saturday, with Ramsay at LB. Would be exciting to see Apter and TC on the flanks in their best positions

Don't think NJ knows the meaning of a free shot, every game is a "one at a time" Project, and each one he will try to win, and the same applies to Tuesday and next Saturday, we will do well to finish with 4 points going into the next break...of course 6 would be good.

Think 3 points which would probably be looked at as bonus points at the start of the season cause you would have expected WBA to be doing better would take the pressure of the Wrexham game whether you call that a free hit ?? … personally if  I was offered defeat tomorrow and beating Wrexham think I would take that now lol

Get 3 points tomorrow night and getting 3 more points on Saturday will be that much easier. Lose tomorrow night and Saturday becomes a much tougher game. Approach each game as if it’s the biggest game of the season and we want to win it whatever it takes.

But that’s just not right, people are saying they would be happy with 4th from bottom, which means based upon this we would only expect to win 6 games against the bottom 3. There is not one game NJ doesn’t expect to win, whether we do is another thing. You can’t pick and choose which games you want to win it’s bollox.
  • Ramsay and Hernández in. Use midfielders sparingly (change em up with 30 mins to go). Some of the lads must be breathing through their arsehole by now.
Knibbs has to step up and show what he's got, so I'd slot him in as the advanced midfielder for Carey. And if Carey has to start, he could fall a little deeper for either Doc or Cov, depending who needs a rest more.

Would be typical for WBA to turn up against us at The Valley, but we should be able to bag a win here. Wrexham worries me more, since they looked very good against Lampard's posse.

Nobody is suggesting any game is a free hit, it's acknowledging that some sort of rotation is essential in this league when you have midweek matches, as the Championship is an incredibly intense league, a big step physically up from L1. And that might lead to difficult decisions about which game is more of a priority.

We were probably the fittest team in L1 last season, but don't have a physical advantage this season, especially as a team which doesn't keep the ball and has to do a lot of chasing and pressing. We flagged in the last 20 against Derby and looked tired on the following Saturday against Preston. That's why Coventry didn't start against Hull, despite it making us weaker, as clearly NJ felt he needed a bit of a rest.

If NJ looks at a regular player and thinks he can't start both of the next 2 matches because of his physical workload, then he'll have to prioritise which of the 2 matches he's needed for most. Someone like Bree might fall into this category for example.

That’s not true mate, quite a few people quote it’s a free hit, it’s a free shot.which is why others are saying there is no such thing in they’re or NJ’s minds.

People were saying that before a kick was made, as a way of survival first and progress from there, certainly now after the great start we have made 4th bottom would be a negative.
Nathan expects us to do well in every game, and yes win a good proportion of those, don't think anyone is picking games to win, surely you want to win every game, but in reality that just ain't gonna happen...
  • Anyway, back to business, Charlton 3-0 WBA, Kelman brace and Leaburn with the other one. CL goes into meltdown Wednesday morning because only the forwards scored.

Feel Kelman will follow up his first club goal Saturday with another one or two Tuesday, that goal has opened the floodgates now, and confidence will be high for more to come...

Just emphasising as fans we can’t go into games thinking it’s ok to not 100% go for the win.

If he gets on the pitch.  Usually an impact sub now, which shows how far he has fallen from the premier league stars of the future.

Would like to see us try Apter at LWB. Natural left footer and would add width. Deserves a start

Great write up, summed up Saturday perfectly. Much better quality than some of the fan previews/summaries on other sites.

Ah West Brom. We do love a draw against them, I mostly expect another one tomorrow. With the lineup given the injuries I'd expect Jones will want to change as little in the shape as possible to offset the personnel changes and given it's a home game I wouldn't be shocked to see Fullah start at LWB. Ramsay, Jones and Gillesphey as the back three is solid and I think Fullah could go out there with enough support behind him to play without too much pressure. All depends on what Jones views as the biggest risk in terms of the changes he has to make. I think it would be a positive selection though rather than trying to move everyone around to plug gaps. Jones said once Fullah comes in he doesn't expect him to come back out in a hurry so there's obviously a lot of belief there

Wasn’t it West Brom in the 2020 game whose away fans thought it’d be hilarious “football banter” to hang onto the ball after it went into their end after it was cleared for a corner? We scored from the subsequent corner.

Anderson hasn't got many minutes, maybe he might come in for Doc for a rest?

Heart has this as a win by the odd goal, head is looking at another draw.
But heart is saying "Well winnable"

I'd like to see Fullah and Anderson, if there are forced changes of personnel, but feel they will both need to have impressive games to revitalise the side as a whole. Keep TC on and up the pitch playing his best self. West Brom not performing well of late, and some of their fans very disgruntled after not winning in 4. We may be playing them at a good time.

I am feeling fairly negative about this one. West Brom are obviously a decent side, and we've had our back line disturbed which is our biggest strength.

    Charlton 0-2 West Brom.
