Not much more to add, gutted to only come away with a point but also not really as we'd all have taken an away draw before kickoff if offered, had a few chances to win it at the end with Knibbs' effort the obvious.
First half we were the much stronger side but for parts of the second Derby had their moments, saying that, they never really threatened outside of the Kaminski save and goal...on that ..Ramsay/ Bell losing their man let's them score so all huff and no puff for the most part.
Our goal - was all said in the match thread, proper quality build up and finish from Bree.
Small moments ( or big depending in how you want to look at it) in the game are the difference between winning/ drawing, maybe could have left kelman out there for longer as he was putting in a decent shift and Carey because, it's Carey.
We really missed Edwards as an attacking outlet on the left and Bell as the left-centre back.
Gillesphey did OK but he doesn't have Bell's pace in that channel and Bell, while good on the ball, is not in the same class as the young Scotsman in the other half of the pitch.
Back in the good old bad old days of League One we'd often plod through a game without creating a chance. Here we are in the Championship, under the hammer and creating three chances in the last five minutes.
It is universally agreed it would have been a bit tough on Derby had we scored one of them, but really, are we to be that magnanimous? Stick one of them away and its points on the board for us and we can leave Derby County to cry into their beer. It's dog eat dog out there.
I get that Bree looked gassed but the Ramsay/Burke combo, while clearly both excellent players, really wasn’t doing it for me on the right.
I think the RCB job belongs to Ramsay/Burke and the RWB job belongs to Bree/Apter. I might be saying something stupid, especially away from home with Apter, but I don’t think Ramsay slots in as well as Bell does on the other side covering Edwards for the next few weeks.
Could be a shit take but just how I see it.
Don't think it helps that we seem to have prime Dani Alves playing. We are going to look weaker down that side whoever comes in at the moment if he comes off
Somewhat ironically it feels a bit like Derby did to us what we've generally been doing to others - bringing on a bit of physical power in the second half to batter tired legs and grab a late goal.
Has to be said that there were probably some tired legs on our part and I wonder if Jones will have to consider a bit of rotation for the next game.
I think a bit of over analysis is going on in terms of individual performances. We did what we do and scored then we know we can keep teams out so we defended. That and a combination of Derby needing to go for it and having some big, physical and decent players and we get a draw which is totally acceptable. We move on to Preston.
That im disappointed at conceding 2 points and dropping from 3rd in championship during the second half to 8th at full time is testament to how well we've started this campaign.
Such a strong foundation to build on and is testament to Jones, arguably our best manager since Curbishley.
Kaminski is a superb kicker and sweeper keeper and great shop stopper. Henderson and coaches need to be drilling him daily on aerial commandment of his box to build his confidence in collecting crosses and corners. In these days of getting a free kick for breathing near a keeper it's in the keeper's favour to attempt to come and collect each aerial ball as if you get challenged chances are ref will blow for a foul.
Our weak link was our forward line last night and whilst decent individually Campbell and Kelman hindered us as frequently when a 50 50 punt went to them it was turned over by Derby's defence and we're back under pressure.
I think Leaburn with one of them is the way forward as he offers significant physical presence and skill. That challenge he put in last night should put to bed any misconceptions of laziness or disinterest that I’ve previously heard touted on occasion.
A quality striker is top priority for January and beyond as 34 year old Godden coming back from surgery is not the long term solution.
I would also start Tanto earlier as he gets involved. Can understand the desire to get Kelman as expensive signing on the score sheet but Leaburn and Tanto have offered more in their 'game changer' roles than Kelman so far.
Carey coming off seemed to kill a bit of our momentum and whilst Knibbs I think did well and is a very good player I think Carey is our most important engine and his absence didn't help us. Easy to assess in retrospect though and there's a reason Nathan Jones is our manager having got us promoted and more than competitive on a relatively average budget for this league and im on a train to go and work in a office.
Great effort and industry from all the players and a sublime finish from Bree after a Premier league quality set up from Doherty.
Well done "struggling" Charlton, as the bookies favourites for relegation Im delighted to see where we are in the table and how we're playing and picking up points in tough games.
Stay up this season, beat Millwall January, keep the squad and Nathan Jones and back him in the summer and this season will be deemed a great success in my book.
A point away is a good result and a fair result on the run of play but I still felt slightly disappointed.
Says more about my increased expectations than anything else as it was a decent performance to nullify them and take the lead.
The skipper was brilliant yet again. Not a passenger and not the weakest link.
I thought the subs were too early and losing Bree in particular weakened us but maybe it was a fitness issue.
12 points from 8 games is 1.5 per game which would equate to 69 over the season. Not quite enough for the play-offs but well clear of relegation.
Only one championship game last night didn't end in a draw showing how tight this league is and will be though so turning games like last night into wins will be crucial.

On to another tough test in Preston.
We need to just see how it pans out but with so many draws, if that continues the play off totals might be on the low side this season.
In the 20 fixtures over the weekend and last night, 13 have been draws and only 4 home wins. Going to be a season of small margins, and picking up points, particularly away from home, is going to be key.
A point away at Derby is a good point, but we missed the chance to kill the game in the first half when we were in the box seat. Following the break and those early changes, we seemed very disjointed, and Derby just had to do something to get back into the game. Anyway, another point to the total and an undefeated September, we go again Saturday against Preston, and confident that we can continue to build that platform for good season and who knows, get back to winning ways…
It's very rare that he actually has to save any actual shots. How many were there, three? Sign of a good defense when you don't really know how good your new keeper is until eight games in. Knibbsy could have made us all very happy bunnies if he'd put his relatively simple chance away.
Kelman looking like he’s starting to work out how to play in our system. Can see he wants the ball in certain areas and TC especially just isn’t doing that.
Bringing off bree for Burke stunted our width and made us way too one dimensional, would’ve rather apter came on but could see why Burke got the nod instead.
Also think tanto should’ve got the nod over leaburn but again, can see why jones wanted to sit on the 1-0.
1-1 the fairest result as derby went through periods of real dominance. Happy with us to feel slightly frustrated with draws this season as long as we’re more than safe. Something to build on!
All in all a good point, but maybe should have been 3 with the Knibbs miss, but lets not be too unhappy with this result.Kelman is working his socks off without anything to show for it,his touch for our goal was a thing of beauty.Might be an idea to Start Leaburn and Tanto and give TC and Kelman the 30 minutes to run at tiring defenders.Kaminski had a decent game but he does worry me on crosses, seems quite indecisive.
Just watched the highlights. What an awful goal to give away. No one really pressuring the guy who headed it, and I’m sure Jones won’t be happy with Kaminski’s attempt to save it. on the plus side, our goal was rather good.
Getting absolutely no respect on the Derby forum btw - we're a decent League One outfit and nothing more apparently. We were the better side for 70 minutes!

You can't listen to Derby fans. They're a club who are season on season either in L1 or straining to not drop into L1 whose fans think they should be in the Premier League. The cognitive dissonance is unreal
First time away from home that we've been leading at half time and i'm sure NJ will have a look at what we could have done differently because we stopped playing and were just happy to hoof it up field most of that half. However, i'm not complaining and a point away in any division is decent. Bree's goal was beautiful - a real cheese cutter.
The way we play not a single team is going to give us credit this season
Exactly what I expected at the start of the season. No one is going to admit we're actually good it's all going to be about how shit our style of play is to watch and some nonsense about NJ.
If you take off your red coloured glasses that was a good point against a Derby team that were under pressure from their home crowd to find their 1st home win of the season.
Derby played with low confidence in the 1st half and in a scrappy first 45 minutes we scored a sublime team goal from the kick from Kaminski with the good touch from Kelman and turn to lay off to TC who found Carey to Docherty with a excellent assist to Bree who found the net with aplomb. A team goal of beauty with six players involved; sheer Ambrosia.
The 2nd half we saw a Derby team play with more confidence and the longer the half went on they suddenly opened up the Charlton defence and a great save from Kaminski stopped it being 1-1 but we were wilting and we finally succumbed to the 2nd phrase from the corner which is unlike CAFC but their big men jumped the highest and Baldy Clarke found the net with a header. A poor goal to give away but we were under the cosh over that spell.
After being in the lead it feels disappointing but the truth after not having a shot in the 1st half Derby players showed good character to overcome the boos and they should've scored 3 in the 2nd half but for two top saves from Kaminski. We could have scored with the Knibbs miss and another close thing with shots being blocked in their area.
I wasn't sure about Burke for Bree but the other subs similar to the Blackburn game seems fine.
Welcome to the Championship CAFC and another positive away result in the higher demands of the 2nd tier.
8 games in and guess what ? We are doing better that the vast majority of CAFC fans said at the beginning of this season and long may it last.
Surprised Carey is being marked so low in the marks thread. Personally, I thought he was really good when he was on. You could critique every player for one thing or another, which is completely fair, but I’m honestly over the moon with just about every player we’ve got right now - especially when you contrast it with what we’ve had over the last God-knows-how-long. I appreciate that being in the Championship means we’ll naturally have better players by definition, but these feel like genuinely good players for the division we’re in, rather than just a sprinkling of “alright” players, with the odd decent one / two, and a few shituns thrown in.

I've never understood when people simply write "this" underneath a post and then along comes the ol' sage, Gribbo, and he's compelled me to say "this."
Even the arduous coach journey home didn't dampen my spirits. We have a team of gutsy fighters with no little skill. Everyone knows their role and does it diligently. I'm proud of them all and of Nathan Jones.

In fact, I thought he was a bit ropey at times, particularly in the first half when he was got beaten on more than one occasion.
He'll come good again, no doubt on that, but at the moment it's hard to say he has been one of our stand out players this season so far.
Knibbsy could have made us all very happy bunnies if he'd put his relatively simple chance away.
