Basically feel that Olaofe and Leaburn need to do a lot more if they want to start matches, was disappointed with them tonight. Would add Knibbs to that as well
Both have had fewer minutes than Campbell / Kelman, but neither put in the work rate that either starter put in... Yes we lost Carey at the same time, he needs a rest too...
But the absence of the pressure changed the game, first half and the Derby defence were rushing their attacks, because of the running from Campbell, Kelman and Carey, meaning that a lot of balls were ending up at the feet of our own players.
Second half, and that changed the moment Kelman went off, and Campbell was knackered - Neither Tanto or Miles did the same sort of running, which gave Derby more time to build their attacks.
That is why Tanto and Miles are not starting. They don't/cannot press in the same way as Kelman and TC. Thankfully NJ knows that, unlike lots on here who keep saying TC and Kelman should not start.
Tanto two assists on Saturday was down to him pressing ?
It was good to see Kaminski and Kelman put in good performances today a lot of question marks over there ability and it’s only one game but showed so much more today than what they did previously
Derby's last three home games they have gone 1 nil down between 30 and 40 minutes.
First time they equalised in the 86th minute (against Bristol City), second time they lost 1 nil (against Preston) and third time they equalised in the 79th minute (tonight).

Tanto can definitely press, indeed that's his strength! Kelman was very good today, but he hasn't pressed very well in previous games.
Yes, ref was fair. Derby were a physical march for us, unlike QPR who resulted to persistant fouling which the ref allowed then to do. This ref made the big calls right. Matching us physically is definitely a template to playing us.
NJ will have been disappointed in the goal we conceded, as with the changes made, we had a tall side on the pitch by that stage.
As I said on the match thread, it's hard for Cov and Doc to keep playing 90s game after game. Both were excellent, but you could see them losing control of the midfield in the second half. Knibbs was clearly brought on to give extra physical presence, but was a dropoff from Carey in terms of attacking threat and movement, and was way less effective in the press. Maybe Anderson would have been a more effective sub, playing the advanced pressing role he was utilised in a bit last season?
NJ doesn't seem to rate Rankin-Costello, who was seemingly signed as a midfielder, but who has barely played.
I don't think it's anything to do with JRC. He's been unfortunate in that he'll either come in for Coventry or Docherty and they've been excellent. Knibbs was a sensible sub for a quiet Carey to try and capitalise on Derby pushing forward and have him press their defenders into mistakes and seize on a loose ball to get another goal but he looked a bit lost. I think if he'd been a bit fitter this would have been a perfect game for Berry to come into, either of those late chances falling to him would have been guaranteed goals

The best presser today was Carey anyway.
Tanto blows hot and cold. Can see why NJ hasn't started him as he was a bit of a passenger tonight. It was a tough scenario to come into but he can't play 60 mins as he did when he came on today. The consistency will come in time
Hard not to feel disappointed with a point. Thought we were clearly the better side for 70 minutes.
This. I feel like I'm reading a post match thread for a different game, but I'm at Derby station amazed that we haven't got a win there. Worst side we've played all season and we were in complete control for so much of the game.
No composure in the box once we took Bree off. Lost count of the amount of times Docherty has the ball in a decent spot and doesn't score.
Once Bree went off our set plays reverted to type. They nearly scored from a breakaway when our free kick sailed over everyone & to their player, who played a long ball upfield.
Its great that we got a point & are unbeaten in 4 games, but we aren't pretty to watch & our front players feed off scraps. Our only 1 decent piece of football ended up with Bree scoring.

Also Knibbs not as all action as Carey.
I must have watched a different game to everyone else as I thought all 3 subs on up mins did well. Knibbs was everywhere & got in a few great tackles on halfway to stop them attacking. Leaburn actually used his strength & pace and caused them problems. And Tanto can hold the ball up better than TC.....and it was his power & pace that set up a couple of late breaks deep into stoppage time.
Strange game. On the one hand disappointed that we let in a late goal and only drew and on the other thought we could have easily lost.
Kaminski remains a bit of an enigma to me. Two excellent saves, one outstanding, earns us a point but he sometimes looks so unconvincing when the crosses come in.
Team looked really tired in the last 15 minutes. Playing at full pelt is clearly not easy game after game. I think there may need to be some changes on Saturday.

Carey was everywhere in the first half, some superb movement and pressing.
Got to be happy with that. Well pleased with Carey and Bree especially, and Kelman did a lot of hard work. Defense was solid as usual. I’m still not sure about Kaminski. He made some decent saves, but punches when it’s not necessary, kicks the ball out of play too often, and one time flapped at the ball conceding a corner but could have scored an og. I also felt that the subs were a bit early and seemed pre-programmed rather than reactionary. Still, a few years ago we were like Cardiff now - losing midweek to Burton. It feels like luxury to be a bit disappointed drawing away in The Championship.
It was all derby after the break even though we could have scored a couple, so could they. I'll take a point but with our defence I was convinced we'd win. Thought we'd struggle this year but we could be troubling the playoffs at his rate. Overall I'm happy with that score and performance.
Six draws in eight fixtures in the Championship this evening. I don’t think they’ll be three or four teams pulling away from the rest and nor do I think they’ll be three or four teams cut adrift. Makes our home form really key, and away points like this will make a difference at the end of the season.
Very tight at the bottom. Only nerds a couple of defeats & we would be dragged into the bottom 6.

Sure, but second half when Derby came out a lot more physical he drifted out of the game, at which point taking him off made sense
Slow start from us grew in the game. Scored an excellent goal and looked comfortable after that. Around the 70 minute mark derby upt there game good save from Tom. They got the goal but we still worked our way back into it. Still think we panicked at times clearing our line. What I will say is finally we have a manager and a side that won’t get it all right but fight for our club.
Kelman shouldn’t start but the replacements were useless 😂 they all played there part in a good point in an ideal world we walk every game but we done well tonight and earned a good point
I know it's early and I know the point feels a bit disappointing but how nice does this look?
Particularly as TC, Leaburn, Kelman, and Godden (granted he’s been out injured) haven’t notched a goal in the league, yet, I think it’s incredible, we are where we are.
If you can get your strikers scoring, we’d be a lot higher in the table, probably in the top 6.
If there all still on a low goals tally, maybe that’s where we need to invest in, in January?

I doubt we have budget left to be honest, even if we did can’t exactly carry 6 strikers on the books, we have 4 very young strikers have to trust in Jones to develop them

I do think Nathan Jones' experience at this level, will potentially win us a few more points than Davies and Parkinson.
First time they equalised in the 86th minute (against Bristol City), second time they lost 1 nil (against Preston) and third time they equalised in the 79th minute (tonight).

Is that why we saw more of the squad in and around the match day squad?

Looked leggy in that second half but after Saturdays efforts that was not surprising.
