This fixture started with end-to-end action but by the fifteen minute mark things had become quite scrappy. Pride Park was quiet and somewhat on edge, not helped by the two or three times that Tyreece Campbell isolated his man on the left wing and went at him.
A lapse in concentration from the Derby keeper, his second in a handful of minutes, almost gifted an onrushing Charlie Kelman his first goal for the Addicks, but a bit of luck allowed the keeper to clear.
The Addicks’s pressure was rewarded, striking first on 37 minutes through a well worked bit of play around the Derby box. Campbell received the ball in space on the edge of the box, drawing two defenders. He played the ball inside to Sonny Carey, who laid a short pass to Greg Docherty, who then guided it on the half volley to James Bree, in space on the right. Bree caught ball on the bounce and, from the stream replay, seemed to shin it with impeccable technique into the back of the net, giving the keeper no chance.
In the second half a period of sustained pressure from Derby led to Nathan Jones making a triple change. On 56 minutes, Miles Leaburn, Harvey Knibbs, and Reece Burke came on for Kelman, Carey, and Bree. Despite their aggression, Derby couldn’t find a way through, with no shot on target until quite late in the affair. Charlton matched the aggression and looked to counter at every opportunity.
Tanto Olaofe then replaced Campbell to provide a couple more fresh legs and provide an outlet in the Derby half.
On 76 minutes Derby broke forward, turning our back line. Kaminsky pulled off a super save down to his right from Bobby Clark. The best he’s pulled off in Charlton colours. The equaliser, however, came some two minutes later when Kayne Ramsay lost his man on the second phase of a set play. Matt Clarke rose above to head it past Kaminsky to reward the home side for their second half efforts. Only moments later, Charlton had a corner of their own that resulted in a half chance from Harvey Knibbs, who could only blast it over the bar.
With six minutes of added time, Derby had the bit between their teeth, pressing for a potential winner. But the Addicks stood resolute. Both sides had their chances at the end, including a Greg Docherty shot in the box that was deflected away.
Some disappointment in how the second half played out, but it is a useful and well-earned away point; just a shame that the Addicks couldn’t smother Derby when they had the chance. Charlton were comfortable for large parts of the game but Derby were never going to give up at one goal down and Charlton didn’t have enough to keep them at bay.
Well done to the travelling Addicks who made all the noise as far as I could tell on the stream. You came through loud and clear.
Derby 1 Charlton 1
Over to you.

Don’t be too disheartened by that. In truth it is a very decent away point even though we were good value for our half time lead (fabulous team goal too) and at that stage a win looked more than possible. But Derby gained control in the second half and our defence was under a lot of pressure before it eventually cracked.
Kaminski still doesn’t inspire confidence with his aerial ability but he did show what a good shot stopper he is.
Good chances for Knibbs and Doc near the end but they had a few too. Fair result. On to Preston on Saturday, which I think will be a sterner test.
Indeed no home wins tonight.
Kaminski looked dodgy at crosses but some good saves.
Would like to see Tanto start.
I think the subs came too soon in the second half, Carey, Bree and Kelman were possibly the best 3 players for us on the pitch (Doc too) and it took a lot of our momentum away.
He'd cleaned up several attacks in the minutes leading up to it, then a couple of errors and people want him benched (not you btw).
Had a couple of chances to nick the win but can't complain with a draw on the road in our first season back up.
Also, maybe the triple subs came a bit too early.
Anyway, I said before the game that I'd be pleased with a point and we got that, so no more moaning. Onwards and upwards. COYA.
Basically feel that Olaofe and Leaburn need to do a lot more if they want to start matches, was disappointed with them tonight. Would add Knibbs to that as well
Both have had fewer minutes than Campbell / Kelman, but neither put in the work rate that either starter put in... Yes we lost Carey at the same time, he needs a rest too...
But the absence of the pressure changed the game, first half and the Derby defence were rushing their attacks, because of the running from Campbell, Kelman and Carey, meaning that a lot of balls were ending up at the feet of our own players.
Second half, and that changed the moment Kelman went off, and Campbell was knackered - Neither Tanto or Miles did the same sort of running, which gave Derby more time to build their attacks.
Thought we were well on top until we made the substitutions.
I know it was a busy last 3rd of the game but the fresh Knibbs looked absolutely dead on his feet with 10 to go!
