A really enjoyable gig at Chalk in Brighton by Blondshell. A bit poppy at times, but they know how to rock and Sabrina belts out some good stuff.

Nice one and very jealous. John Foxx is one of my musical heroes, met him briefly at the back of the Lyceum in 1980 watching some band or other, at the time he was just about to release Metamatic, Saw him in 1983 at the Dominion and 30 years later when he supported OMD with the "Maths". His work on Systems of Romance with Ultravox completely changed my choice of musical interest. Top Man.3 -
Can anyone who is a fan of Gorillaz and seen them live let me know how good they are and the vibe of the concerts? Do they use animation and does the music come across as well? I really enjoy the music but am drawn by the animation too. Have a couple of gigs to choose from around my birthday next year and am veering toward Gorillaz atm.0

No luck getting Ariana Grande tickets for my daughter. Managed to get through but they only had one ticket at over £400 for the night I'd selected available. I love my daughter but not that much!0

A few lined up now for next year with tickets Richard Ashcroft at The O2, Kasabian at Finsbury Park and Gorillaz at Spurs all sorted. Possibly Tame Impala too.Still have Paul Weller/Primal Scream/Inhaler at Troxy and Madness/Squeeze at The O2 this year.1

Saw Chris Difford last Thursday in a church in Cobham.
Him telling stories in between each song both Squeeze classics and his solo stuff.
It was absolutely brilliant. Hilarious at times, some of his stories were top drawer all building up to some comedic pay offs at the end.
Song choices and the bluesy/Country style he played them in were very very good as well.1 -

Saw Pale Waves last week in NY. I’d seen them before opening for Pvris, but they seemed a bit flat. This time, in a smaller venue headlining I thought they were excellent. My only whine was the set was short - 70 minutes. Still, it meant I was back in the bar before 10:30, so not all bad.KT Tunstall tonight, who always puts on a good show. Then it’s all local bands until mid-November when Pinkshift come to town.2

Off Sunday (12th) to the London Palladium to see Patti Smith - Horses album 50th Anniversary. Still have the original album I bought in 1975! Saw her tour the album in 1976 at the Roundhouse supported by the Stranglers and have probably seen her 10-12 times thru the years. Hoping for a great show - even though she's getting on a bit now!0
