1 - give them the whole west stand on £5 tickets
2 - keep them behind for 40 mins
3 - let them kick off amongst themselves
4 - bill Millwall for the inevitable repairs required.
5 - deport them to Rwanda

Police will do what is easier. Always have done.

There is no accountability. That's what is looks like anyway.

Any result other than a loss for Millwall and they were never going to be quick to leave. That is obvious.

Who decided the arrangement, local police at Greenwich or a higher up in the Met?
Each club in London has a dedicated team. They used to be based locally and it was 100% the only job they did. But it was centralised years ago and moved up to the old NSY. No idea where the football policing unit is based now.

    Been offshored to Bangalore

Millwall will not give us the lower stand when we play there later in the season.
So it only seems fair that we do not give them the whole of the Jimmy Seed stand next season.
Give them 2k tickets instead of 3k tickets, have a police presence in the stand and keep them back for 30 minutes after the game instead of all the nonsense yesterday.
Keep them back for an hour and let it be known before their tickets go on sale.
Or let them know at half time that we're keeping them in for 90 minutes and playing Addicks to Victory over the tannoy full blast the entire time

I think that counts as a war crime though

I think that might count as a breach of the UN Convention Against Torture.

On a serious note. I don't understand why we cannot go through the underpass opposite the shop, given following the route we then go back down Woolwhich Road

We had to go through it, why shouldn't they?

I thought I heard a police office say that the person in charge was "Commander Boswell".  Equally a young officer a few feet away claimed to not have a clue who was in charge.
    Standard practice.

The police were letting people through there yesterday by the time I got there (Ransom Walk). There was a police van parked across the bulk of the entrance but quite easy to get through either side of it. There were 6 or 8 special looking coppers (white caps among them), having a chat and looking embarrassed I thought. I reckon the volume of fans heading that way was too many to hold back.

Those getting to Charlton Church Lane to go up to the station had this view and no way through

The side path at Barney close, behind the Antigallican was no go too as police were there stopping anyone.

    That’s Charlton Church Lane.
  • I see on the BBC site the away game Sat 24th Jan is a 12.30 kick off already can’t be cos Sky have pencilled it in for the exciting free flowing football and entertainment the neutral would get just cos there’s 🥩
  • It's so our fans can get home in daylight.....oh hold on we're being kept in for a couple of hours or more.

The kick off time being moved was announced at the same time as when Saturday's game was announced as being moved
  • Does anyone know how the Jimmy Seed toilets fared on Saturday?
  • When you grab the handrails the edges are very sharp and will cause cuts. They need filing down and making smooth.

  • There is a more constructive relationship with the club than there has been for years - virtually since CAST was set up in 2012. That’s a good thing and has resulted in many positive actions eg the handrails in the Curbs stand and improved F&B service - albeit still plenty of room for further improvement.

There is no “cosy relationship” and we take our responsibilities to represent fans and raise issues completely seriously. None of the CAST board receive any hospitality or perks from the club, despite what some would have you believe. Instead we put in hours of volunteer work. As Fen says, stand for the board. Or offer your help as a volunteer.
Handrails in the Curbs Stand - whoope doo.
I have to be honest and say I missed the fans campaigning for handrails.
Sorry, I'm a member but jeez,
These handrails where a surprise, but what a god send,I am 81 with a recent knee replacement, and had great difficulty getting up and down those steps.Thank you CAFC for making life a little bit more bearable.
Some of my friends in the East / Curbs have been pushing for these rails for sometime, so we'll done the club and CAST. For those of us of a certain age, the steepness of the stand is daunting.

I take it that it wasn't you throwing stuff over the gate at the spanners on Saturday then?
Just about get up the steps let alone throw anything over the gate.

@Hex I just ran a quick search with Perplexity and it identified a Met office called Steve Boswell based at Lambeth/Southwark, with the rank Chief Inspector, but it found no evidence he has been involved with football (other than the Met Police footie team) . Perplexity picked up the Charlton Life thread, but said there is nothing else to link him to football.

And now Perplexity itself has crashed.🤣
  • I saw the trouble erupt at the Seed/Curbishley gate. Having a couple of stewards on that gate was a joke. When they did break through I couldn’t help thinking what sad, broken lives these middle aged Millwall fans must have that beating up teenagers is their highlight of the day.
Not just middle aged, one or two there should have their Freedom Passes confiscated.
