I don’t think the Trust should be bashed on this one. This isn’t their fault.6 -

Horrible mugs
These are the ones that I detest. I have a mate who use to box and can handle himself and supports them. A very good friend and he takes no pride in the hooligans. He's comfortable in his own skin and self assured.
Other mates/ acquaintances I know that either folllow them or loosely affiliate themselves with them couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag on their own but revel in the 'hard man by association; image they get because they perceive it reflects upon them being a bit of a geezer when in fact they're suburban types who would shit themselves if they themselves faced proper millwall hard men.
They have a lot of hard men and psychos follow them and wouldn't want to get in any form of altercation with them as they're loons....and why would I want to in this day and age at/ or on the way to a football match. But there are so many in their following that just latch onto that and the power of the numbers they have and they remind me of Mickey Pearce's character in Scum. Bottom feeders hiding behind the big boys.
Weak weak men and cowardly bullies those types and probably arse licking to some corporate wanker boss monday to friday before they dress up for their weekend antics trying to get some sort of kudos.7 -

Their tweet yesterday was not acceptable in my opinion and I’m not alone on that one

Surely the issues with the East Stand gate would have been avoided with a few stewards and a couple of the plod at the bottom of the stairs directing millwall fans away to the normal exit. Its not difficult to see the problems a lone steward on an unlocked gate might get with them.12

I mean, the people in that stand are apparently so dangerous that 20,000 of your own fans need to be inconvenienced for their own safety, but you man the gate with a couple of minimum wage stewards.
I'm totally sick of these c*nts turning up and us rolling out the fucking red carpet for them, with a VIP lane back to the train station. Totally embarrassing.

I don’t think the Trust should be bashed on this one. This isn’t their fault. The point is, the police need to be held to account and it is fans rather than the club that have to do it. But the police will only take notice of organised fan groups, so that’s the Trust, the FAB, and the Football Supporters Association who would join in if the Trust asked them.9 -
There is a more constructive relationship with the club than there has been for years - virtually since CAST was set up in 2012. That’s a good thing and has resulted in many positive actions eg the handrails in the Curbs stand and improved F&B service - albeit still plenty of room for further improvement. There is no “cosy relationship” and we take our responsibilities to represent fans and raise issues completely seriously. None of the CAST board receive any hospitality or perks from the club, despite what some would have you believe. Instead we put in hours of volunteer work. As Fen says, stand for the board. Or offer your help as a volunteer.22

General point; Today was some kind of special security risk which meant urgent preparations were imposed and notified the day before to a small audience of fans on twitter and here. A lot of us were grossly inconvenienced and it could have been tragic, given the pinch points in the route, the lack of guidance by anyone, and then them busting through the gate. Other teams fans will come and fill that stand, not as bad as Millwall, but people have not done their jobs today and we don't exactly who or why as of yet. There is a need for a review and real assurance that real improvements can be made.
Two myths that i think we can dispel;
Myth #1: The police were not short-staffed or pressed today as some were speculating (there were hundreds of them and they weren't where they needed to be at the time they were needed, but could be observed being ineffective, or obstructive at other times),
Myth #2: We were not blessed with a visit from Millwall's superior fan contingent who only qualified for a ticket owing to their higher loyalty point allocations or for being season ticket holders. That club is truly rotten. We need assurances this cannot happen again and actually, pretty urgently.
(And, for what its worth, I agree with Southendaddick, that this thread is not likely to be resurrected until their next visit, and that would be useful evidence in itself of their status).4 - Sponsored links:

Not into that sort of shit myself, but I think Charlton surprised Millwall all over the place today. Whatever floats your boat i guess. Had a couple of pints in the oak post match and walked up Floyd Road to the station. Fella on the platform said a couple of groups were going at it outside the fans bar. But not a copper in sight!0

The spanner probably jumped the queue and got served without waiting.

The trust is impotent
they have zero influence on anything that matters.I don’t know anyone on the board so this is not an attack on any individual7 -
Put this in another thread but adding it here for the record / CAST rep:
Unfortunately I was at the bottom of those stairs with my eight year old son and his friend as that gate opened. There was a panic and people tried to run… like when someone gets shot. I grabbed their hands said ‘we’ll be fine but hold my hand and let’s walk up the stairs quickly’. I looked straight ahead but my son looked back and said he saw a group on Millwall fans attacking a single Charlton fan, and that he felt really sorry for that fan.
He was petrified and is still distraught now. Wouldn’t let me leave his room at bed time.
Can’t lie, I’m fucking furious and will be making a complaint.

And please don’t make this a pile on thing about CAST or whatever - not today guys. It isn’t a panacea and it’s not perfect but I’m pleased it exists. Let’s stick together today. The police fucked it.15

At the end of the day give the game a miss.

Gavin Carter appeared to be amused as well. There is a very big place for communications between fans and a board but the trust seems to not have much clout.0 -

MartinCAFC said:Elthamaddick said:Just give em the top tier of the JS stand and net off the lower - that’s all we get at their shit hole, 1,500 max and lock them in for an hour after.
if they smash it up, so be it - it needs sorting out anyway - and their owner can pay for it
20 coaches with 75 fans on equates to 1,500. Set them all off from The Den or wherever there pick up points are for away games.
Most of the problems seem to have arisen by lack of police inside the ground (certainly at the exit between the East and JS stands), letting them out at the same time, and then letting them wander off instead of putting them all on trains.
It's pretty simple really. Reduce their allocation to 2k, police it properly inside the stadium, keep them in for 30-40 minutes afterwards and announce it well ahead of the game that they will be kept in. Do that and i think you get minimal problems. At worst they get angry and smash up the toilets and a few seats, so what, send them the repair bill. How hard can it be to police that?

More pondlife will end up in the home ends with a reduced allocation .
In spite of their denial it’s their cup final hence loads doing anything to get in to the ground, jibbing in like filthy scousers at Wembley back in the day .
No surprise to us who have been going years , the bully boys are still about puffing their chests out , twas ever thus14 -

You have offered honorary places to people on your board in the past, so no reason in my opinion why that can’t be done again. Unless you want me to go through other channels
I look forward to your reply4 -
I saw the trouble erupt at the Seed/Curbishley gate. Having a couple of stewards on that gate was a joke. When they did break through I couldn’t help thinking what sad, broken lives these middle aged Millwall fans must have that beating up teenagers is their highlight of the day.2

The supporters trust is a good and worthwhile organisation, run by volunteers.
Any critics would I am sure be welcome to join, to stand or volunteer for any office, and do things better.
The trust can only hope to influence, not control.4 -
