Bree isn't to be sniffed at. A tigerish truckler I hear.
  • I like the singing of Bree, despite knowing absolutely nothing about him.

Perennial Championship player with decent Premier League experience, entering his prime years. I can't see him coming here if he isn't going to get a lot of game time, so it will be interesting what that means for Apter.
He sings as well, multi talented then, hold on, can he take a free kick???

James Bree follows Harvey Knibbs on instagram. I don’t know if they have played together before but is a bit random.
    No, just NO

The cheese puns will be unbearable.
You'd be cheesed off if we signed him?

This is a serious thread, can you please be a bit more mature about it.

This is just my personal opinion, but I think we need a pacier, stronger option in midfield than Coventry and Doc.  I don’t think we’re at all in the market for that position, but I think it could unlock a lot more both defensively and offensively
Other than the goal against Watford, I know he hasn't set the world alight, but isn't that Knibbs when he's up to speed?

Bree sounds like a good addition but would surely mean the end of the Fukuda interest?
Which is the way it goes sometimes - I think that the Fukuda interest was real but ultimately we need cover now, not in a few months time. If Fukuda/his club are determined to wait, we'll have to write it off.

I meant more on the defensive side.  I don’t think Coventry or Doc have put a foot wrong so far, I just have some doubts after Saturday about how well the middle three both break down and get the ball moving going forward. Coventry sitting the deepest of the three is good on the ball, reads the game well, but such is the pace of this division, I’ve started to think more and more about someone quicker in there, or where Doc operates that can do all of the defensive stuff, but stronger and quicker.

I completely understand this is probably the last area many of us would think we need cover/another option, it’s just something I’ve had in the back of my mind at this level

Just missed out on Isak it seems  :/
Crazy money! £125m for one player.  That could buy Charlton, whole team, club, the Valley and training ground, fix the fan's WIFI, any remaining potholes and move the hand dryer in the lower west gents and still have money left over to buy everyone a beer!!
Unfortunately not enough to sort out the lock on the toilet door though

  • Bree would be a great signing, would be coming to start though, so would be interesting to see where we go there?

Hard to see where he may fit in, unless we change systems

I think most people agree we should have upgraded there. In theory we have though, as we bought Costello to play there. I don’t think we’ve seen enough of him yet to say whether he’s what we need or not

I definitely agree. Coventry won 70% of his tackles in L1, but thus far, has won only 28% in the Championship. That is a dramatic drop-off. He's still getting into duels but he's not winning the ball. Championship midfielders seem to be a lot bigger on the whole. Our two midfielders have good engines but they're not the strongest.

I used to work with a bloke called Steve Robinson. He was a Palace fan 🤮
  • Preston also now want Tom cannon on loan from Sheff U. This has to mean that we are the favourites for David Fofana.

If we actually are in for him

I think all the players we've signed will be coming to start. It is up to him to prove he deserves that spot and up to those that are already here to prove they should. We need competition for every spot and also players that are more suited to different opposition.

I like the sound of Bree, played a lot of games in this league just two seasons ago, struggled the last two but Saints were a promotion side and the Prem is the prem, hard to make an impact.

27, lots of experience, worked with our manager before. Like that a lot.

Hopefully means we can pick up Fukuda on a free in January and then we have plenty of cover on that right side all of a sudden.

True.  Judging by what I have seen of him so far (albeit very limited), I wouldn’t say he’s the quickest, but I would definitely like to see more of him

O'Rourke is usually fairly reliable though isnt he... Unless he's doing Agents a favour.

He's not Cawley levels, but he's not as a shit as Nixon
He got Apter right before anyone.

I’m surprised we didn’t add that kind of player. I think the jumps between leagues are now bigger jumps physically than they are technically. But that does put a premium on those bigger and stronger players which is probably why we haven’t been able to add that in midfield
