For me a forward is key.. We need someone that can put the ball in the back of the net.. We are creating more chances, then we have ever done since Jones took over, but we just not putting it in the net. We need a bit of pace..

    RWB is also key..
Pretty mad if the club has spent circa 5 million pounds on strikers and by game four have decided they can't put the ball in the net!
I said at the time, I didn't think Kelman is that great..
  • I hope Kelman comes good but if we are reliant on that then it's a huge risk - personally like others have said think we need pace added to midfield and up top, happy to leave the defence as is.

Fair argument if we were in League One but in The Championship £5m probably only gets you one decent striker.

The whole squad needed an overhaul once promotion but we can’t do it all this window.
  • Possibly missed chances we should have scored against Leicester but I can’t think of a save the keeper had to make on Saturday. Unless it’s from set pieces, which were awful at the weekend, I don’t think we’re creating enough.

Only 3 players i could get excited about signing today- Rafael from Kyoto Sanga, Mendez-Laing from MK or Chuks Aneke off his sick bed. (I'm assuming Chuks is the Target Player Profile for the missing striker role).

(Actually further research tells me Chuks is into earning a "passive income" from a link up with 3sixty property group, who also use Kayne Ramsay's picture on their homepage. )
What if we signed Mbappe? Not exciting enough for you?
Lyle Taylor more realistic. Not sure how he measures up to the Chuks mould i think we are missing. Did Lyle and Chuks ever play together?

Only one I can think of is Leaburn chance from Edwards cross. Looks like he tried to square it, when really he should have scored.

Are we really "missing" chances though? It doesn't feel like that to be honest. It doesn't even feel like we are creating loads despite the XG numbers etc.
Agreed. Our chances, have mainly been from rebounds and scrambles. The Leaburn one on Saturday is one of the few open play chances we've created and missed, and that's probably the only chance Miles has been given in 2 starts.

He will … Godden only scored 2 in the first 14 games last season did not turn out to bad … watch how Orient played to him hardly any long balls , all to feet and down the channels for him to chase ..

Saw that on into the Valley. Plenty of experience and o.o.c at the end of the season.
    Good signing if it happens.
  • James Bree would be a very solid signing. Champ level player without doubt.

    Doesn't pass the height test

I’d much rather James Bree than Joe Ward if those are our wing back options for today
Absolutely. Ward is league 1 and Bree top end Championship IMO

Southampton have brought in 2 right backs now. I wonder if Nathan might try to reunite himself with James Bree?
First mentioned by Marcush26 i think, yesterday (pg 640)

Bree was the only Luton player Jones signed to play in the premier league. Probably says a lot to how much he rates him
  • Looks like Bree and Ward are out of contract next summer, so this is possibly their club’s last chance to get a decent fee.
  • So NJ mentioned he think at least one more which would be Bree/Ward potentially so why not a loan deal if the right person came up? He did say he would take more if possible.

Dont know about Fofana so googled him and he was labelled " The new Drogba"! Get him in based on that alone haha!

Bree is 27 and mainly played in the Champ with some PL experience. Ward’s 30 and mainly played in L1 with some Champ experience.

Based on that Bree looks like he’d be the better signing.
Maybe we’re after both and Ramsay is off…
If any scouts were at the QPR game then I think we’re safe.
I think Ramsay was well known before Saturday tbf. That said it was said more in jest than any belief it will happen.

I think Bree is a good player but injuries look an issue as they do with Ward.
