  • Charlton Life rulebook #39:
A member may be reported for bullying if said member advises another on the correct spelling of 'their', 'there' etc.
A member must never misspell a Charlton player's name. This is unforgivable as correct spelling of our players' names is a crucial life skill.

Caleb Taylor now set to sign for Millwall.
Good business to sell Tanganga for a high-ish fee and replace him for half the price probably

Burkes a weird one because from the outside it doesn’t look like a ‘bargain bin’ signing. The knowledge that he had severe injury record was there. The whole thing is so od
    So is your spelling.

Actually nothing odd about it. Just another member of the Nathan Jones mutual support group for Luton rejects.

Nathan Jones took such a pasting as manager at Stoke and Southampton that he has developed a siege mentality, stubborn and closed to advice from outsiders. "My way or the highway". He wants to surround himself with yes-men and is more comfortable with those who remind him of his glory years at Luton. This is such a common pattern with public figures, politicians, entertainers and military leaders it is easily recognizable.

Sometimes it works. Stalin got the job done. Hitler didn't. It has worked for Nathan Jones so far. Much as I would like to see us at least try to play football, I realize it could be very dangerous to change strategy now. I think we are stuck with it, at least until the end of the season. I do not think we will get relegated, and we do have a very remote chance of making top 6. Keep your fingers crossed!
Missed a single letter, who cares.

There is something very odd about signing a permanently injured player.

How we play is irrelevant to signing someone who’s body is not up to the rigours of championship football all.

I won't say a word about the missed apostrophe earlier, or even the now missing "?".

    😁
It’s a football forum not an academic article, shove it up your arse
Just a delight to interact with you.

    Or maybe not.
  • This thread is getting very... odd... Is it the 1st September yet?
It's weird when two of the newer lunatics start going at each other. It's like two badgers fighting each other over your bin in the front garden. It doesn't directly involve you and they're just scrapping over rubbish but my god is it distracting.
Is that a clue Jordan Badger is signing? He’s a centre back.

I wouldn't read too much into that honestly. Yeah Jones was absent but so were the other two out of the normal three, it was a totally makeshift defence.

I'm very sure that while Lloyd is very important, Ramsay and Bell would cope a whole lot better in his absence than Laqeretabua and Mitchell did.

I also don't know if playing Josh and Zach either side of Lloyd would have been much more successful either - he can lead a defence well but with those two he'd essentially be micromanaging the entire defence which isn't ideal.

But you’d never going to have 3 young players in the back line at most Z Mitchell would be playing with two regular first team defenders … so he would not be isolated.

Tom Lockyer on IG just a moment ago. All pictures are about Charlton.
Amari’i Bell has commented on this post with 👀. Make of that what you will.
  • Coaching role here?
  • Lockyer return sounds good to me

  • Feels like too many coincidences to be random, assume if he wanted to play that his wages would be relatively cheap
  • He does seem to have developed a fanboy/girl club who point at everyone around him, or his exact position (been given a go at RB, RCB and CB now).

If he had something about him, you'd realise he had more experience than those around him and may have taken the lead. I believe that was the hope.
Yes, I hope Zach learns how to dominate the space and lead more than he did on Tuesday. I noticed when Keenan Gough came on he did exactly that.
I'm sure Curtis Fleming will have noticed and will help Zach with it.
  • Coaching role here?
I'd presumed he's retired, but looking at his Instagram he's still very much a player.

  • Player / coach role perhaps? Would be an ideal signing as Callum says could provide decent backup quality not expecting to dislodge Bell, Jones or Ramsay either. Can’t be too many options available like this, well worth a punt.
