Luton's starting keeper and defence when they won their first game in the Premier League... Just saying!19 -
Linda Lockyer just followed the CAFC X account.13
-
Would be a great bit of smart business imho if this comes off. Knows CAFC, is a leader but likely with determination and patience in his system after what he had to come through. Would be another leader around the training ground too and help our younger players’ developments. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 something in it…3

NJ repeating in his pre match presser that we want to improve in "at least one area" before the window close. That reads to me as one signing for sure and possibly keeping tabs on others in case they suddenly become available1
-
I’d be surprised if a player was leaking their own transfer as obviously as that3
-
No lols please but Chuks Aneke, what happened to him and is there any chance of a return to the starting line up or subs bench?? I know he was injured and saw him slow down but I think he is missed and what we have so far does not make up for what we miss.12

For who? He's not at the clubswords_alive said:No lols please but Chuks Aneke, what happened to him and is there any chance of a return to the starting line up or subs bench??0 -

Just can't see Lockyer ever playing again for anyone but Luton. I wonder if he'll even be able to get insurance etc.7

We were an absolute basket case, any player serious about their career would have moved on. He had a good season which is why he had the option to remain in the championshipThomasOliver3 said:
I'm not sure personally I wasn't in love with how quickly he ditched us after relegation (of which is drop off in form was a key factor)Watameire said:Lockyer return sounds good to me
But also he's not played since the terribly sad heart condition and only recently cleared to return, is he anywhere near the same player he was?
I'd like to see us look abroad for a new defender, there's not a lot of value or prospects in the UK, right now. WBA and Plymouth had great success and good value last season (Heggem cost £0.6m, sold for £10m, Talovierov bought for £1.5m, sold undisclosed)
I’ve said it a few times this season but I’m not expecting much from abroad yet. Those kind of recruitment networks take time to build, and are probably not risks we should be taking until we’ve stayed up at least 1 season

What is it you think we’re missing? Tanto and Miles came on and scared the shit out of Watford’s defence.1 -
Lockyer would be perfect . He would understand he’d be cover in case we get injuries and I’m sure he’d love to tie up with Jones and Charlton again . Just how fit is he though ?3

Are people of the opinion signing a player who hasn’t played in 2 years and has collapsed on the pitch twice a good signing? In a coaching role yes.
But to add him to our defensive cover which already includes Burke who hasn’t played 90 mins in 2 years as well. It’s absolute lunacy.36 -
NJ confirming to Cawley that Wingback is the main target and not CB
Says " centre halves we are fine"14 -
Totally agree that's mental.John_Fitzpatrick1 said:Are people of the opinion signing a player who hasn’t played in 2 years and has collapsed on the pitch twice a good signing? In a coaching role yes.

There's a line in there about players we're interested in "that maybe we could do at Christmas or maybe we could do now" which surely has to be about Fukuda?MarcusH26 said:NJ confirming to Cawley that Wingback is the main target and not CB

I'd missed that on my first read , I would expect that refers to Fukudafenaddick said:

Yeah I think it would be a very strange choice, especially when the issue with Burke is fitness.John_Fitzpatrick1 said:Are people of the opinion signing a player who hasn’t played in 2 years and has collapsed on the pitch twice a good signing? In a coaching role yes.

Feels like possibly making the same mistake twice.0 -
I'd have left it there.MarcusH26 said:Just can't see Lockyer ever playing again for anyone0 -

I think i read the other day that he was close to , or had just had, the all clear to start playing again .......0
-
This may be selfish but I wouldn’t want us to sign Lockyer, watching the Eriksen situation unfold on telly was bad enough, would be very anxious watching him play at the valley.7
-
When we was a guest on Sky for the Luton AFCW game (1st August) he said he should get the all clear in 4 weeks time, which is this weekend essentiallybillysboots said:I think i read the other day that he was close to , or had just had, the all clear to start playing again .......0 -

He's next,haha0

Between him and Burke there’s at least one fit player. Low wages and something to prove, let’s see what happens.1

Never left as far as i'm concerned...Delfin said:He's next,haha2
