I can hear it now. We tried to get two players over the line but we just ran out of time.1

Actually nothing odd about it. Just another member of the Nathan Jones mutual support group for Luton rejects.
Nathan Jones took such a pasting as manager at Stoke and Southampton that he has developed a siege mentality, stubborn and closed to advice from outsiders. "My way or the highway". He wants to surround himself with yes-men and is more comfortable with those who remind him of his glory years at Luton. This is such a common pattern with public figures, politicians, entertainers and military leaders it is easily recognizable.
Sometimes it works. Stalin got the job done. Hitler didn't. It has worked for Nathan Jones so far. Much as I would like to see us at least try to play football, I realize it could be very dangerous to change strategy now. I think we are stuck with it, at least until the end of the season. I do not think we will get relegated, and we do have a very remote chance of making top 6. Keep your fingers crossed!

So what I think you are suggesting is that Stalin is coming in to be number 2 to Jones and Hitler has been ruled out?5

he used to like their right winger, wasn't so keen on the left though.Simonsen said:

Only difference is I have 4 masters and also got 3 girlfriends, not sure how many you have.
Keep up the good fight though mate, this is stellar work.16 -
With you on this! It’s a form of bullying! My step son has learning difficulties & has actually come off social media for this reason! Some people may not be well educated or for whatever reason, it’s just not necessary! Not funny at all if that’s the intention!AberystwythAddick said:

Nicole was distraught at the news, but soon cheered up when I told her I had booked a table at the Wimpy Bar in Maidstone. I sure know how to show a girl a good time.3

I agree that Nathan Jones loves that siege mentality and does his best work under these conditions. That's why I feel he flopped at Stoke and Southampton as he went there when they were both doing reasonably well, plus I'm not sure the locals took to him. He will say he never got the time at either, but he did have a disastrous start at both. Even we questioned him after Bristol Rovers, but after he beat Birmingham then went on that amazing run after Christmas, we began to believe it was possible.wolfgang said:

I slightly disagree that he wishes to be surrounded by "yes" men; player-wise I agree, but he's a wise enough man to know you need to be challenged by those you work with, and he knows we as fans will keep him on his toes. He typically holds his hand up when he's got it wrong and if his position ever became untenable, we'd let him know and he'd walk if he felt he was no longer appreciated.
This is why I feel us and Luton will benefit from Nathan Jones's best days in football management, because for all of his faults, clubs like us are where he does his best work.2 -
Just a Hat Trick left...getting very crucial...🤔0

I think NJ and the club medics know a bit more than you, guess they thought it was worth the risk and we probably have a v good player on lower wages/ salary because of it...AberystwythAddick said:

They absoloutely should. I'd recommend they spend all their remaining budget on giving him a lifetime contract.fenaddick said:

I know it's off topic but it is genuinely a bit pathetic and extremely pedantic for anyone to correct someone's grammar unless it is relevant. I.e. you are in an actual English exam.dajavouslagan said:

Makes me cringe how people think it's a sign of intelligence to be able to differentiate between the use of their, there and they're as an example, big fkn woop.
Some of the most interesting/intelligent people I have met can't spell for toffee or write very well, it is not a complete measuring stick at all.
Tell your step son to ignore the noise and carry on as is.

It's weird when two of the newer lunatics start going at each other. It's like two badgers fighting each other over your bin in the front garden. It doesn't directly involve you and they're just scrapping over rubbish but my god is it distracting.ForeverAddickted said:This thread is getting very... odd...
