  • Ive got a few in the next couple of months .
De/Vision = German Synth band , 1st time in the Uk for 10 years , got to see them again .
John Foxx = Record signing meet and greet at Rough Trade , hopefully do a little gig as they sometimes do .
Secret Affair / The Vapors = Really looking forward to this , the Vapors so underrated back in the day , a couple of great new albums in the last five years .
TRextasy =   Another band i really missed out on but was a big fan in the 70`s , some really good reviews , watched Marc Almond and Tony visconti play with them on Youtube , looked brilliant .
  • Simmons and The Stags at The Slaughtered Lamb in Farringdon tonight. At least two Charlton season ticket holders in the band and many more in the crowd.

  • Saw this tribute band last year, when there was a mega down pour, and they played on, fantastic gig, and they are playing for FREE for two days running from 2.30, couple of other local bands, bring a fold up chair, and have a great afternoon, Not sure you will ever see the Floyd again, and I saw them quite a few times, one of the best bands live to me. Like the graphic above (not one of mine) Fantastic that groups play for Free.
I think it is going to be busy!, you may have to park a little way from the bandstand.
Im going tomorrow. I’ll drag my wife along, she hates their music but as long as I buy her an ice cream and a bottle of wine she’ll stomach a hour or so of their music.
They are quite a good tribute band. It’s no longer possible to see the real Floyd so I take what I can get.
Gilmour does less and less Floyd tracks whenever he tours and Waters is a bit too preachy for me. I’ve seen Mason play the Saucer Full of Secrets a few times but they ain’t ever going to all play together again.
  • Saw Coldplay last night, after he enjoyed Oasis so much my son wanted to see someone else so we looked on Twickets whilst in the fan zone before kick off yesterday and got 2 face value tickets.
I haven't listened to a new Coldplay album in 20 years but there was enough from the first 4 albums to keep me happy and they really do put on a great show plus the boy loved it.
  • Going to Margate on Saturday to see The Pistols with The Stranglers and Buzzcocks supporting.
The Buzzcocks were ok, Stranglers were good but The Pistols were fucking brilliant. A big bucket list tick for me.

    Does look a good venue...

I was surprised it was as good as it was. Trains are a mare though. Thought Stranglers were a good sound but too many slow ones for my taste. Mosh for the Pistols was a blast

Yeah, we managed to get an air b&b for the night, didn’t fancy jumping on a packed train for 2 hours then scratching around trying to get home once we got to London.
  • Easy enough drive to Margate from SE London. Parking not too difficult.

True but none of us fancied being the designated driver to a Pistols gig.

    That position remains pretty vacant.
2 of us did try to beat the other into Submission but he wasn’t having it. Silly thing
  • The Maccabees were absolutely superb at All Points East last night, brought out Jamie T which was class. The Futureheads were excellent earlier on in the day as well.

I thought people were overexaggerating the dust, but it was mad.

I drove. Was quite novel not to be 8 pints in and wanting a piss every 5 minutes.
Thought it was great although The Buzzcocks are now shit. Stranglers very good but agree too many slow numbers. Pistols were excellent and Frank Carter, I suspect, may be better at fronting them than Rotten ever was, albeit he was groundbreaking for the time. Shame I was just too young to have seen the original Pistols so that I could make the comparison.

That’s my take exactly. Make you right on the pissing front though. The queue for the bogs was massive, probably a high number of prostrate issues given the demographic of the crowd.
  • If you’re looking for something to do today for free. Charity all day festival (Sidcup Calling) in Sidcup today at The Iron Horse next door to the station.

Local acts, my band (Simmons And The Stags) will be playing at 6:15 and then you also have a Bowie cover band, cover bands etc. Free entry and all money raised goes to hospices.

and yes we’ll be playing Tyreece Campbell!

Not wrong about the dust - it was insane, I think I am at least 25% dirt today.
I'd never done All Points East before, really enjoyed it. I'd forgotten how much I used to like The Cribs and The Maccabees were brilliant. CMAT was also really fun to shoot - and I got to see Dry Cleaning who are...interesting! I liked them though.

Great pics mate. Bombay Bicycle Club were really good as well actually. Was a top quality line up
  • At victorious festival over the weekend. Overshadowed by Mary wallopers being cut off after 30 seconds because they displayed a Palestinian flag and refused the remove it.

Overshadowed the whole weekend and I missed two bands I have never seen before (Mary wallopers and last dinner party).

The festival then lied about why they pulled the plug.  Lost all credibility and will be difficult booking bands next year.

    I'm not altogether surprised.
I saw The Mary Wallopers in March and they introduced a pro Palestine and anti England narrative.
Many of the crowd around me seemed far more interested in chanting pro Palestine songs than listening to the band playing.
Personally I go to gigs to have a great time and to escape the horrors on the news.
If I wanted all that I could have stayed in.
    I left before the end.

As you have identified above, the organisers of victorious knew exactly what they were going to get with Mary wallopers, so to cut them after 30 seconds was a mistake.

If festivals go around cutting the sound when they feel like it, they will get an ever decreasing group of bands that are willing to play.
