One of my mum's cats did this, off for 6 days, mum posted in the local Facebook groups, put posters up etc and it turned out the little gremlin had "moved in" to someone else's house 2 streets away!

Literally 90 mins after I posted, Kit-Kat came home. God knows where he has been because he has lost a lot of weight in the 3.5 days he has been gone. He murdered the food we put down for him.
Just so relieved he is back. Cant wait to see the girls faces when they realise he is back!
Just ordered 3 tracking collars for the little gits, they're not doing that to us again! 😂🙈23 -
We had a cat who did similar but was away for a week and came back very thin. We were told he probably went up a tree and couldn't get down or just got shut in a garage.0

If that happens again, put unwashed clothing out on the line, some of their litter from their shit trays outside as well as the contents of the hoover. Domestic cats although like to give the impression they are utterly reliant on their human subservients for their needs, are very resourceful creatures and their sense of smell is incredible.
Word of advice as well, don't let them out after darkness hours or get a cat flap. Unless you want a (still live) seagul dragged through it at 1am or maybe a toad, a rodent, squirrel, mouse or rat, or a magpie, or a pigeon if you are really fortunate

I'd just read your first post about Kit-Kat going missing and was about to reply that we've had cats go awol for days before and come back safe and sound. Very glad to see that your lovely boy has come home. We've got one into the converted garage come utility room and then one from there into the kitchen, so during the day they can come and go as they please then after 11pm, once they go out they are limited to the utility room because of the house alarm. Its also limits whatever they may bring in to that one room too.
I've lost count of the things they've brought in during the last year and a bit since we got them. Part and parcel of being a Cat Dad.
With our old cat Gangsta, she brought in a bloody squirrel. My wife couldn't deal with it so she left it on the floor for 8 hours until I came home to remove it.
I know we've only been in the house 3 weeks but we've got wild Bunnies in the garden too. I hope to god they don't go for them as they are far too cute.0 -
The tiny little rabbits are perfect size for cats. Also display all the triggers a cat needs to take an interest in them. Rabbits are quick but cats are fuckers and good hunters, ambush predatorsJohnBoyUK said:

Our dogs arriving at the school is normal enough to clear the field of rabbits, on one occasion I spotted a rabbit in the distance and prayed the dogs didn’t see it. They won’t normally catch one but it worries me they could get injured in the chase our dogs are physically too big to catch a rabbit unless it was sick.As we neared the rabbit it was obviously a baby and it froze as the dogs sniffed at it.
I called the dogs away and they both followed me, I hoped the rabbit would make its escape after we’d left.Both dogs along side me I looked back only to see the rabbit hopping towards the bushes. Valli saw it and with a very high prey drive the chase was on, a yard away and the rabbit froze again so interest dropped again.I called her as I turned away to continued to walk as I heard running to catch up.As she reached my heel I looked down to praise her recall only to see her with a mouth full of rabbit, she hadn’t dispatched it merely brought it to me, proudly she placed it on the grass for me to pick up and place in the long grass.I’ve since established that baby rabbits aren’t the cleverest and often continue eating after the adults are back in the burrow with their feet up while the younger ones still fill their faces.Hedgehogs on the other hand and my dogs are pals. 😂

About 7 years ago,a lovely white and black cat came to my house,we found out where he lived and his name was Elvis,we took him home several times he kept coming back ,in the end we kept him.Sadly last week Elvis left the building for good.We are devestated,he has left a void in our lives which only pet lovers can appreciate.To rub salt in the wound,his vets bills where around £400.00,this includes his private cremation cost,this amount includes 20% vat,what sort of sick society do we live in where we have to pay the government tax on looking after and cremating our beloved pets.3

Italy has for some years allowed you to take your dog on board a plane with you, as long as it is well behaved and trained. But this was only for small dogs. They have decided to allow all dogs. The key to this is the words well behaved, which they apply to everything. Shops and restaurants included. There are well behaved kids and nightmare kids and dogs that are well trained and adjusted should be able to do all these things IMO. We were even allowed to take JJ into Pompeii a couple of years ago and he was brilliantly behaved.2

I'd love to have another cat, but our circumstances make it difficult. I've had cats all my life, but after we lost our last cat a few years ago, we had to make the hard decision not to get another cat. The cost of vet bills being one of the main reasons.jonseventyfive said:

We managed to get this procedure done through a medical cover, however if we did not have this it would have cost £150, I dread to think how much this would have cost in the UK.Various check ups and tests our dog has had have been way below £50, the Brazilians have the right idea with keeping the costs down, thus saving animals not being treated as people cannot afford the costs.
